In the Wild Where my Aussies at?!๐Ÿ‡ฆ๐Ÿ‡บ๐Ÿจ

Found all these in one reserve. Why isnโ€™t there more info on these guys? Why is no one talking about them? They are heavily underrated in my opinion:)

Included areโ€ฆ
Diuris punctata
Diuris sulphurea
Thelymitra ixioides
Thelymitra carnea
Thelymitra rubra
Thelymitra x irregularis
Thelymitra pauciflora
Thelymitra pallidifructus
Thelymitra serpentina

Due to their specific requirements, aussie terrestrial orchids aren't commercially available, so the only way to see them is in the wild. Compare that to other species you can buy at coles.

I've been into native orchids for decades and only in the past 3 years have natives become available in nurseries and specialty ones at that.

I suppose additionally, they die down completely in summer so you're left with an empty pot 8 months of the year and a leaf or two 2 months of the year and finally a flower that is only open for a week or so.

I am commercially symbiotically producing seedlings and will be selling seedling tubers on ebay in another month or two, then bare rooted seedlings next april. Dm me or watch eBay for them

Great. It has been in development and testing for 2 years to ensure it is ready for market. Limited range this year but next april should see 120+ species and hybrids available, mainly Diuris, Pterostylis and Thelymitras

I can't DM you for some reason, but I'd love to know more about the terrestrials you're selling!

Yes itโ€™s a shame theyโ€™re only little potatoes for half the year:/. Iโ€™ve seen plenty of Pterostylis species being more available lately! Hopefully the rest will follow:)

Greenhoods are underrated imo.

The trick is the fungus they need, you'd have to get that with the orchid. Something I've had accidental success with is bringing in mulch from an area with the orchids so both the fungus and spores come in.

I gotta take pictures of the orchids I find at my uni. One of the species already came and went but I think there's a different one coming up as well.

This is the first one.

Wow, those tiny blues!! You have lots of scary critters there, but I am SOOOOO jealous of the climate that just makes orchids everywhere! Beautiful, and thanks for the post, OP. ๐Ÿ˜
