This person is right. I don't know how many times people must doubt this same team. Same core group of players went to the 2024 ECF and game 7 of the Finals in 2025. For a vast majority of this roster, that's their first and second post season which is just absurd. That's about as much of an outlier as the Spurs recent run. Young teams rarely make it deep in the playoffs, they don't grow much game to game, and they lose against veteran teams. None of that's true of this team when they were a lot less experienced. Haliburton turned the ball over late in the Boston Celtics series and it cost the Pacers a game 1 win. He's never making that mistake again.

The thing is, this isn't a young team anymore, the core players from those teams are entering their prime years, and the Pacers added two extremely huge pieces who fill roles they did not have during those runs (screens, rebounds, and a wing who has the overall size to defend big wings). People are really not appreciating how good this team can be, even in a stacked East. It might take a few games for Zubac to gel but most of these players have played together for years and as deep into the playoffs as you can. They are absolutely going to smoke teams early, I see so many people stating they start slow as a team, well yeah they were also 23-24 years old.

Only difference is that we lost our 6th man and our starting center.

The Spurs didn't lose any major pieces when they went back. They gained a #1 draft pick.

We aren't going to be bad but the idea we're going to be the top team is optimism
