Idk if you've seen but KingPin, himself, started a YT Channel, and as his first(?) Video, he did an Unboxing from wait for it.. ASUS!, He received intel board and ryzen board with binned chips and a 5090 Astral. He even suggested that there might be a Asus Kingpin collab IF Asus is up for it.
Im also hoping for a Kingpin AMD GPU, especially with the Launch of the UDNA Architecture would be a massive W. But Realistically, BEcause Nvidia dominates the market, it's more sensible to go with Nvvidia GPU's over AMD's. Personally, I would love to see EVGA Get back into the GpU game and launch EVGA gpu's with the AMD UDNA Launch. That would be totally EPIC.
Yeah, especially when some countries (Australia) have jacked up Nvidia GPU prices to the point of insanity.
Last time I checked a 5070ti was still 2-3 times the cost of a 9070xt over here, with a massive price hike for the 5080, and the 5090 being literally double the price of the 5080.
Nvidia is just selling snake-oil over here, hell they make so much off of AI that they genuinely don't even have to sell all their gaming cards, they can just wait for the white whales to come to them.
Hell, with some opti-scaler setups and clever usage, you can actually use dual GPU's in basically all modern games now (one GPU renders the raw image, other GPU handles upscaling and de-noising + ray reconstruction + post processing, instead of a traditional dual GPU setup) and it gives you a huge performance uplift in games that are turbo un-optimized and rely HEAVILY on upscaling and frame generation to turn 5 fps into a "playable" 30fps (you can render them at 30 fps and turn them into a "playable" 60fps).
So it might genuinely be both cheaper and provide superior performance to buy 2 5080's instead of buying 1 5090 (unless you need the VRAM for 3D rendering, in which case since we no longer have swappable ram on our GPU's, you're once again looking at either the 7900XTX or a significantly more expensive card with the same amount of vram but slightly faster, or selling your firstborn and secondborn along with a holiday home for a card with more vram).
Honestly pricing is just an intentional joke at this point ngl.
Id be willing to the the guinea pig to test this out. I got an idea. you buy me 2x Astral 5080, I'd even settle for Tuff or MSI's 5080s. And i'll test out your theory.
