Visiting Golf close to Tapatio Cliffs Resort

Hi all,

I’ve read through golf related posts on here but I’m wondering if people can give me some geographic recommendations.

I’m coming in next week and staying at the Hilton Tapatio Cliffs resort. I have a tee time on Wednesday at lookout mountain but considering adding a second tee time on Tuesday.

I won’t have a car so I’ll be taking an uber/lyft to the courses so I’m wondering what courses closer to Tapatio Cliffs you would recommend?

Thanks in advance for any insights!

Lookout Mountain. Nice course and very close.

You got options. Closest course nearby is Cave Creek. It’s a city course and less nicer than Lookout Mountain but less expensive too.

Other near by options are Wildfire, 500 Club, and Stone Creek.

If you want a memorable round and aren’t concerned about money I’d say go to Quintero, TPC Scottsdale, Grayhawk, Troon North..sticking to the north valley.

Many golf courses are still reseeding over to winter grass. Call ahead or book online.

Lots of courses. Just depending on budget and how far you’re willing to go for a premium course. Lookout mountain is right next to Tapatio cliffs and is a fun course. If you want to drive a little troon north, the boulders or kierland are better than average. I’ll put mountain shadows on here as well. Probably the nicest par 3 course in the valley.

You have over 225 courses to choose from in the metro area. If there was a true water shortage this would not be true. Enjoy the beautiful part of the year here!

That’s kind of a dead zone for high-end courses unless you want to Uber out to north Scottsdale. We’re still going to have a number of courses closed for overseed too.

If you’re just looking to play somewhere close and mid-tier is OK, could go to Stonecreek. Orange Tree is a little further past that.

Be sure they are not in overseed, but Lookout Mountain is on the same property as the Pointe. You’ve also got Cave Creek and Stone creek within a ten minute drive. Encanto isn’t that far if you’re willing to drive. If you’re lucky and know a member, Moon Valley CC is right there too, although I’m pretty sure they’ll still be in overseed.
