Politics r/Phoenix politics rule reminder
With the election coming up I want to refresh some of our rules around political posts and content.
Rules for Posting Politics
We have a zero tolerance approach for violating these rules. So if you're not sure, DM us before you post.
- Political posts and comments are limited to regular users with positive karma in this subreddit.
- Political posts must be related to Phoenix or Arizona directly. Take general issues to other subs.
- You must flair it Politics if it is at all related to politics, including protests, actions of elected officials, hot topics like immigration or homelessness, and so on. If in doubt, ask the mods. If you post a political topic and don't flair it Politics you will be banned.
- Do not post political comments in a non-political post. Do not turn an unrelated post political for your own amusement.
- Be civil to each other. Debate ideas and discuss news, do not attack other users.
- Report trolls to the mods, do not respond to them.
- Do not advocate violence. This is a Reddit level rule and a way to get your entire account disabled, not just banned from this subreddit.
- No doxxing. This refers to individuals appearing in posts here. This no longer applies if someone is named by a major news organization.
What counts as "Politics" in r/phoenix ?
Anything related to actions from a government or public agency. This includes city, state, and Federal agencies, and all laws and policies they control. So this includes elections, immigration, reproductive rights, military action, data centers, water rights, and so on.
This includes actions by Homeland Security, the FBI, and ICE. Given the current state of things, this also includes actions by all police and law enforcement agencies.
It also covers protests and all action against all the agencies listed above.
This is to clarify how we define it for the purpose of managing content in this subreddit. We're not trying to arbitrate semantics with all that's going on.
Election / voting / proposition posts
We have an election megathread pinned, which is the default place for questions you have about any of the local elections, proposition questions, and so on.
We will approve new posts about the election if the topic is unique or has good information. We are looking to strike a balance between the megathread and updated info as the election get closer.
If we remove a post of yours you can DM the moderators and ask about it. I also suggest visiting r/azpolitics if you want a more ongoing political discussion.
We are happy to explain why these rules are in place, but they will not be changing. These rules are here to preserve this subreddit as a valuable place for active members to have the discussions they wish. If you do not care for these rules, do not post here.

If you have other links or info, leave them in the comments. We may add them to the original post.
Keep in mind that our political rules are in full force here, so only regular members to this subreddit will be able to comment. And any personal attacks on other users will result in a ban.
The purpose of this thread to to create a civil space to discuss the elections and trolls, fear mongering, or comments that offer little or no value will be removed.

Utilities Spectrum is throttling my internet
Years ago with Cox, I qualified for the connect2compete program, So internet has been $10 a month for me for at least a decade, and was lucky enough that they never asked for any follow-up documentation to prove that I still qualify, so I've been staying off of Cox's radar as best I can
Now that spectrum has taken over, the first bill under spectrum went through last week, and I have never experienced my Internet being so slow... I thought there was something wrong with my computer. Ran all the updates, even got with my work's IT department, and it is definitely internet speed
Anyway, looking to switch ISP's. Going to lose my smoking deal, but this is affecting my productivity at work. Any recommendations? Might just do starlink so that way I can be portable

Ask Phoenix Looking for the thin Dos Ranchitos tortilla chips from Food City
Has anyone seen these tortilla chips at any Food City (or similar ones at another store) in the valley lately? Obsessed with them but it seems like in the last year or so I can only find the thicker, darker ones. Have been to 3 different locations (El Mirage, north phx, and McDowell/24th St) in the last few months with no luck. Used to get them from the McDowell location all the time… hoping they are out there somewhere!

Utilities T-Mobile outage in downtown phx
Have had my T-Mobile cellular and home WiFi down intermittently for the past 3 days. I live in downtown Phoenix. I called and they said they don’t know how long it’ll take to fix. One of the towers is down. I can’t text or use my data. Anyone else having issues? If I drive half a mile down the street my phone signal works.

Ask Phoenix Monte Lindo street in Peoria, is it all decorated?
I’ve been seeing people talk about this neighborhood all over the place, saying it’s overly decorated for Halloween. I wanted to make sure it actually is before I take my 3 year old daughter for a drive to see it. She’s obsessed with Halloween so I want a good place to take her. Anyone know anything about it or know good neighborhoods to check out? Thank you!

Pets Did you pick up the kitten on i10 west/202 south on-ramp today at around 2:50 pm?
I was driving home from work today when I saw a little kitten on the freeway as I was getting on 202. I saw it too late, so I had to turn around by getting off on buckeye. By the time I got back around on i10 west/202, about 15 minutes had passed. I was too late and couldn’t find him.
I’m hoping a good intentioned person picked this kitten up to help him/her. The poor thing looked hurt and was struggling to walk. If you picked him up or saw someone saving it, please let me know. I feel so bad it took me too long with all that traffic to get back to the spot I saw it and it was gone.
I hope someone saw him getting picked up.

Pets Tribute to a lost dog
My friend lost her little girl this last weekend. She passed almost exactly as mine did two years ago. I have a few really good photos.
Can anyone recommend any quality gifts, pillows, blankets, art pieces, etc. to help her through?
Thank you all!

Living Here Live in Phx, Going on a 4 day trip Out of town. We have had the AC off and the windows open all week. Can I leave the AC off while we are gone with the windows closed?
While we are gone, the average is in the 70s for a high, with one day showing 80s. We have no plants or pets, I just don’t know if we can/should leave it off with everything closed. The inside of our apartment on a 85° day stays around 79. On a 70° day it stays around 74°. However, that’s with the windows open. Nothing in our pantry has struggled with these temperatures.

What's Happening? Super Dragon Location (12th St & Northern)
The building that once housed Super Dragon in Sunnyslope has been vacant since I moved to the area. People in the area seemed to love it so bummed we missed it. Recently it looks like it’s been leased and improvements are underway (fresh paint, construction on the interior, etc)
Does anyone have any insights into what business leased the space and/or what it will become?

Ask Phoenix Farmer's Market with the best produce?
Anyone else's produce from the grocery store just going bad days after getting it? Bread doesnt mold anymore either. We're going to start trying to shop a bit more local to support small businesses and hopefully get some better foods.
Ive been to the farmers market downtown thats in front of a church I believe? It was mostly food vendors and crafts which is fine, but we're really looking for fresh produce and artisan goods.
Anyone have any recommendations or favorite spots? Prefer the west side ideally but always open to a little exploring too!

Ask Phoenix Hi all I'm moving in and want to know a few things about grocery shopping
So yeah, I'm moving and want to know where the best grocery stores are? I cook a lot of Italian and Greek inspired foods. My former city had no idea what fresh basil or dill was. Which grocery stores have the best selection of fresh herbs? I don't mind a drive if necessary. I'm by Litchfield Park if that helps.
Any info is helpful.

Outdoors Wildlife concerns hiking south mountain early morning
I’m relatively new to Phoenix! Moved over the summer, I’m a hiker and want to try the dobbins look out trail on south mountain. I’ve hiked camelback and Piestewa a handful of times so I know the drill with sun safety! But south mountain feels a little more wild than the hikes right in the city, just wondering if early morning (5am) I’ll run into any large wildlife like coyote, wild cats? Javelina?

Visiting Golf close to Tapatio Cliffs Resort
Hi all,
I’ve read through golf related posts on here but I’m wondering if people can give me some geographic recommendations.
I’m coming in next week and staying at the Hilton Tapatio Cliffs resort. I have a tee time on Wednesday at lookout mountain but considering adding a second tee time on Tuesday.
I won’t have a car so I’ll be taking an uber/lyft to the courses so I’m wondering what courses closer to Tapatio Cliffs you would recommend?
Thanks in advance for any insights!

Very unfortunate since I’ve only had the privilege to eat here once. Glad to see the usual costumers come here for the final experience and sharing their memories here.
