When these were introduced two seasons ago, the quality was fairly poor. Last season there was a NOTICEABLE quality improvement. I don’t know if they went to a new vendor but it sure seemed that way. Just had one and it’s just like the ones from two seasons ago. Almost gray in color and the bun is a bit stale 😩

- Bouyea: THE GREATEST garbage time 1ST OPTION IN NBA HISTORY! Love my guy lamo
Starters
- Booker: He's still fundamentally solid, but he just looks old. Slower, less explosive, less verticality on his shots. He needs to find a new way to impact the game, I don't think he's getting his legs back.
- Brooks: Black hole shooter doing blackhole shooter things lamo. It works, until it doesn't. Tonight it did. But even when it doesn't, he's still a physical threat on both ends.
- Green: Again, the problem has consistency, not talent. That question won't be answered in preseason, but he's looking very controlled. Playing team ball while getting his own, not going full hero. I'm encouraged.
- Bridges: Played exactly how you want. Doing the little things, taking the open shots, and playing solid team defense. Didn't fill up the stat sheet, but looked good on court. At least before the 1st/2nd unit sat.
- Maluach: Being the biggest guy against the M A S S I V E Jizz lineup, dude held his own and then some. Even on offense, that putback through four defenders? Ayton would never. One more offseason in the weight room, I see top 10 center potential.
Bench
- Goodwin: Jordan Goodwin.
- Gillespie: Hasn't looked great this preseason. Controls the 2nd unit offense, but with on ball so often, he hasn't gotten separation to iso like last year. Granted, the Jizz are M A S S I V E. Probably his worst matchup.
- Dunn: He couldn't stay on the court last year because he kept fouling so quickly. That hasn't been a problem until tonight. Hopefully this is the exception. Doing the little things doesn't matter if you foul out.
- Reath: On the perimeter, he was looking quite good. Spacing, setting good screens. But in the paint, he's a horrible "center". I like his game, I don't like the role he'd be asked to play with us.
- Fleming: Dude's processor is slower than a GPU from the 2000s playing GTA. There's some skill, but he is not remotely playable right now. He's also not super young and inexperienced.
- Peat: Linebacker style has not translated as expected and his defense has been meh. But he's 19, has a lot more time to cook.
- Brea: He was on the court.
- Spencer: His facial hair > basketball skills.

From summer league to now man man has looked exceptional out there. To the point I think there is a very real possibility he earns the starting job by the end of the year. He looks like he could be a stretch version of Clint capela if he can ends up reaching his ceiling.

Rant I just wanted to post this here about my opinion on Book

READ THE WHOLE THING!! I think Book is in a situation that he has to improve his playmaking skills like upping his assists, more efficient at pull up 3s, and just primary ball handling in general. He’s struggled in the past with double teams. We aren’t getting a pg for a long time. He’s going to have to be like SGA but even more assists and less scoring imo because he’s way more doubled than SGA. (Not a knock on SGA, it’s about play style)
SGA doesn’t have nearly Books gravity like from 3 and double teams. If you looked at doubled percentage last year, there was stats that showed Book was doubled 2nd most in the league only behind Giannis. I also think he had like some of the most expected assists in the league. It’s because the double has proven to mess with his flow, he cant get to his spot in the mid range with the double, he’s not the best passer out of the double too, and Teams respect his catch and shooting 3 point shooting too much. I genuinely believe Book is being so underrated even by our own fans right now.
People look at the box score or see how he struggles sometimes on both ends of the floor being inefficient and just being frustrated and think hes fallen off. He just doesnt have a true pg and he wont for the foreseeable future. I think he has an opportunity to become a much better player than he was with CP3 because he has to. He has to be the primary ball handler and i think he’s improved a lot.
I always preached in point Book even when our fans were hating on me saying “we need a true pg” in the KD era. When my response would be “we are a bottom 5 defense, we don’t have any size, and you think the solution is focusing on PG rather than being able to get a stop?”
I was always hoping we’d mimick OKC and be a defensive minded team with Book being the primary ball handler during the KD trade. It’s crazy how all the things I thought would happen have mostly. I predicted we’d win 50 games last year, I even have the tweet and that we’d be a top 10 defense. I think we will be even better this year depending on the health of the team. Depending on Maluach, I really do think we could be a contender this year.
Even though I thought we’d 50 games last year (people called me crazy), I thought we’d struggle in the playoffs because we got a lot younger and had a first year HC. I predicted the Ayton trade made us too small and we weren’t contenders, and then we got bullied by the Wolves. I predicted that Oso was the big swing guy for us over Dunn because we needed a big. I never liked Tyus Jones even though our fans loved the signing. I thought our issue was size. I thought Coach Ott was going to be a huge upgrade over Bud before the season and make Bud look incompetent. I wanted a young HC over an experienced veteran coach similar to a JJ Reddick
This has been an ongoing conversation since CP3s role fizzled out here. My main point with this is that I believe Book is extremely underrated by everyone because they think he’s barely a top 20 player, when people really don’t take into consideration the level of gravity he has, people don’t notice.
Without Book, this team’s ceiling would plummet and the box score watchers wouldn’t know that. Hes why I predicted us to win 50 games last year and people called me crazy. When you have a top 10 player/superstar, and good role players you will be a good competitive team. Like ex Denver HC Mike Malone said, “he’s not just a scorer, he’s a very capable playmaker.. and that’s what you want out of Superstar, and that’s what he is”
