Hi
We’re two girls from Asia in 20s.
We’ll be traveling to phi phi in mid-November
I’d like to go around the tour without any rush..
Not like keep switching to next places quickly 🤣
What would be the best option for us? Any recommendations or tips would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!

Living here a while now and finally heading into Patong for Oct 31st with a few friends who are visiting. Plan is to meet up around Jungceylon for dinner, pre-drinks, and to check out the themed events in the courtyard before heading towards the beach and clubs.
For those who do Patong on Halloween, is that the best move to avoid getting trapped in the crowd too early?

I’m staying at a villa in Patong for 12 nights, I know we can’t smoke indoors but it shouldn’t be an issue to smoke by the pool?

We are looking for a hair and makeup artist to come to our resort in Khao Lak for an event. We are not looking for bridal makeup etc.

Thanks a ton!

On the gym street in Chalong the most common beginner mistake is walking into a fight camp on day one and deciding after that Muay Thai isn't for them.
The camps here roughly split into three groups by spirit. Soft ones work mostly with tourists: short sessions, no contact. Mixed ones, which are most of the street, split people by level. Fight camps prepare people for actual fights, so clinch and sparring are part of the daily routine.
A normal class runs 1.5-2 hours. It starts with skipping rope, then technique in pairs, and the last part is rounds on pads with a trainer. Nobody throws a beginner into sparring. You get there once you're ready and only if you want to.
Small things for day one: shoes off before the ring and the mats, sneakers on in the weights area, the trainer is kru (Thai for teacher), don't touch a Thai person's head, don't point at people with your foot, wash your hand wraps. Check your travel insurance separately, a lot of policies exclude combat sports.
For people who train here: what type of camp did you start in, and what would you tell someone in their first week?

Anyone know where to get a nice floral arrangement near Patong Beach? Need something pretty for a anniversary surprise. Let me know if there's a standalone flower shop here(better if it's somewhere near jungceylon)

Hi everyone!
Two of my friends (one guy and one girl) and I are traveling to Phuket in February 2027 with Emirates for 2 weeks. This will be the first trip to Thailand for all three of us, and none of us have much overall travel experience, so we would love to collect as many useful tips and personal insights as possible. 😊
We’ve booked our accommodation at Patong Beach, at "The Deck Condominium." However, we still have a lot of questions, so we’d really appreciate your experiences, tips, and even things you would do differently in hindsight.
Generally, we want to experience a bit of everything: party, explore the island, take day trips and participate in activities, but at the same time relax, spend time at the beach, and simply enjoy the whole trip. So we’re not looking for strictly a wild party holiday or a purely relaxing one—we want to get to know as many sides of Phuket as possible. 😊
For example, we’d be curious to know:
What are your experiences with Patong Beach?
Has anyone stayed at this specific accommodation?
Which neighborhood/area did you like the most in Phuket?
What were your favorite restaurants or local eateries?
What practical things should first-time travelers to Thailand definitely keep in mind?
What are your experiences with Emirates, especially regarding the long-haul flight?
What vaccinations would you recommend?
Which ones did you get?
If we happen to do separate activities—for instance, if one of us goes for a walk alone or we split up in the evening—how safe is it?
Are there any areas or times of day you would avoid?
How much spending money is recommended as a realistic minimum to bring?
Is there any activity, island, beach, restaurant, or bar that you consider a absolute must-visit?
What places or experiences do you think every tourist should definitely try out?
For spending a night out partying, where are the best spots, and what should we rather avoid?
Which beaches, excursions, or island tours would you recommend?
What are the most common mistakes first-time visitors tend to make?
We’ve already researched a ton, but most information online is quite generic, so hearing genuine personal experiences would mean a lot more to us.
Seriously, anything goes: nightlife, beaches, excursions, island tours, food, bars, local tips, transport, safety, money, shopping, or even "definitely do NOT do this" type of advice. 😄
Thank you so much in advance to everyone! 🙏🇹🇭

Hello, just looking for some advice or any helpful information.
My daughter who is 9 and I are both British and are living in Phuket under non resident Visas.
my daughters passport is due to expire next year and I am hoping to get the ball rolling nice and early. I understand I need to submit an application to the HMPO then attend VFS in Bangkok to submit documents. I have done some research but was wondering if anyone has renewed their child’s passport recently and could offer some advice with regards to documents required, the general process, also if when I go to Bangkok can I take my Daughters passport with me until her new one arrives.
any advice or general info would be greatly appreciated as I am a bit of a worrier and just hope to make things as plain sailing as possible.
thank you 🙏🏻

Hi all,
I’m here for a week, just me and my two kids 9 and 11. The gym at my condo where I’m staying is being renovated and I’m looking a gym in the Thalang area that has a kids area or somewhere they can hangout while I train for an hour. Do these places exist in Phuket?

I wanna grab a decent, comfortable pair of sandals to replace an old one. Will visit jungceylon later, any recommend brands for waterproof sandals. Or any shops nearby to look for?

Not in Phuket at the moment but am returning late next week.
As luck would have it a tooth of mine decided to break in half today.
Needing recommendations for an English speaking dentist that could fix it while on my holiday.
Will be staying in the Patong area.

Hello! Traveling to Thailand this December for vacation! For the first part of my trip I will be south of Phuket City. Snorkeling is one of my favorite things in the world, I was wondering if anyone has recommendations for a nice, guided tour that focuses on snorkeling! My budget is <100$ and my one ask is for the boat to not be too crowded. Usually book through Get Your Guide, but also open to booking through something more local. Thanks for the help:)

Hi everyone,
I'm looking to book a 3 month trip to Phuket to train Muay Thai.
I know that the visa option for Tourist Visa is 60+30 days.
But what if I want to book a 3 month travel itinerary? Will I have problems at immigration when they see that my visa is only valid for 60 days prior to extending it but my return ticket is in 3 months time?
Any help would be appreciated, thanks!

Two numbers for scale. A Sunday group hike through the jungle in Kathu is about 12 km with 700 m of total climbing, roughly four hours at walking pace with a half-hour break in the middle. The walk up to Big Buddha from the bottom of the road is 4.3 km and 330 m of climbing.
The rule the Sunday group uses: if it rains before the start, the hike is cancelled. In October that happens a lot, and the season only reopened in early September.
What I've seen people take: proper shoes (no flip-flops), 1-2 litres of water per person, a snack, a rain jacket and mosquito spray. For a shorter version there is the Black Rock walk with about 300 m of climbing, a 15:30 start and sunset from the rest stop. The steep part comes right at the beginning and the last stretch is sheer rock in dusk, so a headlamp isn't a bad idea. The useful bit is that a Grab can pick you up from about halfway if the legs give out.
For people who live here: which trails do you walk between the rains, do you go out when the sky looks doubtful, and is there anything you'd add to that bag list?

Hi everyone! I'm traveling solo to Patong, Phuket soon and I have a pretty big phobia of geckos. I'll be staying in a modern hotel, alone in the room. I know geckos are common in Thailand and I don't want to cancel the trip, but I'd like to be prepared.
For those who have a similar fear, or who found a gecko inside their hotel room:
How did you handle it in the moment?
Did the hotel help (inspecting or changing the room)?
Any advice for the loud gecko calls at night? (earplugs, white noise, etc.)
Any tips that made the stay more relaxing, like what to ask for when booking or on arrival?
Did your fear get better after the trip?
Thanks so much, any experiences are appreciated!
