There’s a reason Mark Calaway had a 30+ year and 20-0 21-1 Wrestlemania record. He drew crowds with his aura alone. Dude is a legend. Check out the A&E documentary to learn about his career very impressive and well respected dude.
edit: On the streak, at I think at 8 or 9 wrestlemania wins someone mentioned he was undefeated so that became an annual card item for Wrestlemania passing on the torch to Brock Lesner at WM 30. That wasn’t super clear, I apologize. Also he didn’t always work for wwe, just finished his last 20ish years there before that he was in a Japanese circuit and then at WCW as one of the “sky scrapers” but not used as a title card talent.
His kid and my kid competed in their sport for a few years. He’s a nice guy with a very intimidating presence. He tries very hard to blend into the crowd while his kid is doing her thing but I did talk to him”hell in a cell” with him once and he told the story passionately. He had everyone in the vicinity glued to his every word. For having such a storied history, the guy is very down to earth.
Went to a signing he was doing at a CD Warehouse (and yes, I am also old now) and he spent a lot more time than he needed to, talking with 10 year old me.
