Every road has construction

This city is a f-cking mess. Every major road, every major connecting road, every back road, every freeway. Road work, shut down, one lane, 2 lanes with a flagger. It’s like they planned as much as they could and decided to do it all at once.

I know there’s always construction being done, but I don’t ever remember it being this bad. It takes so long to get anywhere through the city. North/South, doesn’t matter. You’re going to run into road work, and I SWEAR there’s nothing ever looking different? It doesn’t matter what time it is either, 1p on a Saturday, 11p on a Thursday.. you name it. Traffic due to construction.

The homestead bridge is a warzone. I dunno, I’m so sick of it. Nothing ever seems to get done either, it’s just going to get worse and worse. I’ve never hated living here more.

Quick edit: I’m not complaining that things around our city are getting fixed… I appreciate all the hard work that these men and women do.

I’m complaining about the amount of things going on at once, for the length of time they’re happening in this current year.

Kinzua Bridge State Park

Hope this qualifies for this subreddit... I'll put it in the Pennsylvania one too. The wife and I took a day trip to Kinzua Bridge State Park. Figured it would be a great time to visit something I haven't seen yet and catch some great fall colors. Unfortunately, it looks like we were a week or so late for the color, but the bridge was really cool. The hike to the bottom was cool, if not challenging. We did see some great foliage on route 28 just north of Kittaning though. Highly recommend if you haven't seen it. Only a few hours away from our house in Elizabeth.

carnegie haunted museum event

yesterday was my first time attending this event. i will say, i was so so underwhelmed and disappointed. now, i didn’t expect anything crazy but their description of activities and overall presentation of the event online seemed to be way elevated compared to what was inside. i can’t believe i paid $30 per person for this event. to begin, we started with the haunted ghost tour of pittsburgh. IT WAS AN HOUR LONG OF NARRATED AI SLOP VIDEOS. while that’s problematic on its own, the videos weren’t even GOOD. it was actually laughable, my partner and i couldn’t believe our eyes. other than that, the “haunted” aspect of the museum was a few tables of insanely random things that obviously the museum tried to cheap out on. i mean they had an unattended table with origami instructions printed everywhere with halloween paper lol. idk, maybe i had my expectations too high, but it’s a really cool concept and i feel like they could’ve had a more creative approach.

Street parking adjacent to east liberty Whole Foods

Post image

Not sure what it means, if some one can fill me in. Wasn’t sure if I was going to get a fine or not , sò moved to another street and parked there. I went to Whole Foods for a quick grab, but the experience of seeing this signage made it unsure on parking along that fenced empty lot

this is my post i posted before on here. i need advice from anyone who can offer or has a better solution please no negativity. I’ve had this dog since Wednesday, i’ve posted her here and a couple other sites.

she’s extremely aggressive towards my dogs and this is my biggest issue! I’ve called the police, animal, control, and multiple rescues. the police pretty much told me i was dumb for taking her in and they wouldn’t help me. the Animal control that takes care of the area i’m in has been just running me in circles and giving me 0 answers about coming to pick her up, just constantly leaving me on read. I’ve called humane society a few times and they won’t call me back.

i just feel completely bummed and like i did the wrong thing even tho i know taking her in and providing her with a warm spot to sleep and food is better than nothing. I’m in nursing school so i’m extremely busy and she’s been stuck either outside in my yard or a crate in my basement because I CANNOT leave her around my dogs in the house.

does anyone know who i can reach out to? or what to do for this poor pup?

Squirrel Hill Giant Eagle made my son cry

We live a block from GE. My son was off school today. Wanted to go spend his allowance money and get snacks for him and his friend. The security officer stopped him, asked him questions about why he wasn’t in school. (They have the day off for parent teacher conferences- not that its giant eagle’s business) The security guard goes on to tell him that teenagers steal, rape, and do drugs! And did not let him in the store!!! What!?!

He came home crying thinking he did something wrong.
I went to the store. Spoke with manager. Was no help. Can’t get story straight about who is allowed in to buy groceries at what time. No signage telling us about this change. The guard said it was a PPS rule- which doesn’t make sense.

Just frustrated, mad, and disappointed. If people steal, then that person should be arrested. Instead they are banning all kids from entering the store. What!?

Just looking to get recommendations on companies who do French drains! I’d prefer to not go to these large known companies so want to hear others experiences. What did the estimates you’ve received looked like?

No ai slop at the coffee tree

Post image
825 Upvotes

I just wanted to show some appreciation to the coffee tree in Fox chapel because it seems like they've stayed away from the ai "art" fad happening at the moment. their iced white mocha is very addictive I can't stop drinking it honestly I should chill. (at least I get skim milk and half sweet so could be worse I guess)

do you know any businesses in Pittsburgh still resisting the ai slop bs?
