Yeah, I was about to say that it's not the win that Chet seems to think it is.

BIRD UP

u/xombae Kelly Clarkson has put us in danger 10d ago

I tell this story any time Eric Andre is mentioned because it adds to the mystery that is Eric Andre.

Years ago my boyfriend and I were hanging out with a friend in Toronto, and he decided to show us this hilarious underground show called The Eric Andre show, which we had never heard of. We stayed up all night drinking and doing coke and nearly pissing ourselves laughing watching everything he had ever made.

The sun started to rise and we decided we needed to reup on coke, so we headed out into the world. We were walking up Queen Street and no one was around, and we were still laughing and quoting The Eric Andre show.

We then notice we're approaching a couple leaning against a wall. We get closer and I swear on my fucking life, it's Eric Andre making out with the hottest chick I've ever seen.

That evening I went from having no idea who he was, to being his biggest fan, to seeing him in the flesh.

We were in such disbelief, all we could say was "Bird up" and laugh hystericaly and we probably looked like losers, but in my mind Eric Andre is an entity of pure comedy who appears just when you need him most.

Worst show on television

Nothing says emotional stability like grabbing someone from behind!

Seriously, if he confronted him in person verbally and that was that, it would be one thing. You have a right to defend yourself against an insult. But getting physical AT ALL just escalates everything so unnecessarily

I don’t think “getting physical” in the sense of putting his hand on his shoulder from behind him is the grave crime you’re treating it as. Kinda rude, and not the best way to start a constructive dialogue… but it’s not like he was poking him in the chest or shoving him, looking for a fight.

19

u/Foxy02016YT 10d ago

It’s not a crime, but it is an attempt at intimidation

u/NumberOneStonecutter 10d ago

Someone did that to Mike Tyson once and he elbowed him in the chest and sent him flying saying "Don't fucking touch me." - definitely an overreaction but Mike Tyson has to deal with a lot of shit from fans and haters. Eric's style of comedy polarizes some people so he probably has haters too, who will approach him in public. Hence the bodyguards.

So? Your example has Tyson in the wrong (not surprising)

Or, "hey, I was out of control back then. I understand why you said that. I've worked hard on myself, hopefully no hard feelings."

Well much of what he does is directly for attention, such as the clip above, or the co-opting of Black culture, or any of the other reckless public behavior that his family has tried to help with. He sucks.

u/juicebox03 10d ago

He is a country singer now. Or was last summer. Difficult keeping up with a zero talented nepo baby.

People who want to defend him always bring up the wilderness camp too. Did something bad happen to him? Yes. Was he a dick before and after that event? Yes. He's 40 years old isn't he? At what point do we accept Chet is Chet. He sucks.

The dudes 36 years old and still acts like a dumbass 16 year old. Pathetic. Be a man and get yourself therapy and meds!!

Paris hilton had it pretty bad and all in all seems decent for how and where she grew up.

She's actually incredibly nice

He could be instantly anonymous if he wanted

Right? Nobody remembers him

u/JayteeFromXbox 10d ago

It's hard to feel bad for a lolcow when they have that kind of money and background

75

u/SofaK1ngGhidorah 10d ago

Holy misplaced empathy. Chet has no one to blame but himself. All he has to do is nearly anything he wants.

Feel bad for random real people on camera in unfortunate situations. Do not feel bad for a nobody desperately trying to be famous because of entitlement.

Think about the millions of people with real fucking problems - which they have through virtually no fault of their own - instead.

"Nearly Anything" EXCEPT being a white rapper faking a Jamaican dialect. He only got attention doing this because of his dad otherwise, it would be some crazy fool who gets 24 views.

6

u/lrodhubbard 10d ago

His dad was a better rapper in that Dragnet song.

u/BidSpecialist4000 10d ago

You always think about that?

If it makes you feel any better, your life is also a joke to the ruling billionaires. So you don’t need to feel too badly for Chet

Striving to make 'oh shit, it's Chet Hanks. Run!' a thing.

No one ever wants to talk about how Tom Hanks sent Chet to the “camp” Paris Hilton got abused at. They kidnapped him in the middle of the night and sent him away because he was smoking weed lmao.

Tom Hanks is why Chet Hanks is Chet Hanks. He’s a shit father.

5

u/LuteDesign 10d ago

“No one ever wants to talk about” half the comments on this post are about that. Chet Hanks is Chet Hanks because of decisions he’s made. He’s an adult.

Victim blaming

3

u/LuteDesign 10d ago

Read anything I’ve written in here. I survived residential placement. Our trauma is not our fault but it is our responsibility. He laid hands on someone and has generally been an entitled ass despite having every single resource available to him to deal with his trauma. He’s in his late 30s. He’s rich. He’s white. It’s been 2 decades. He can take ownership of his behavior.

-2

u/animalivebecome 10d ago

He laid hands on someone LMAO. He held onto another grown man’s shoulder. Eric Andre is a fucking loser who peddles his weird nude cult all over LA.

3

u/LuteDesign 10d ago

Pretending like this isn’t threatening is hilarious. Who is victim blaming now?

0

u/animalivebecome 10d ago

It’s a grown man confronting another grown man. Both grown men have security guards following them around. What exactly are you crying about?

2

u/LuteDesign 10d ago

Who’s crying? You’re simping for a rich white guy who did a Jamaican accent for a few years. Weird behavior.

0

u/animalivebecome 9d ago

The amount of times you’ve jumped around in this single argument is laughable.

What do you think Eric Andre is? A rich obnoxious asshole who gets off on making women extremely uncomfortable under the guise of comedy. He clearly can’t take the energy when it’s sent back his way.
