With the weather getting better, I wanted to see if anyone here would also be interested in joining our outdoor adventures or our movie nights under the stars!
We are a mixed group of friends from all nationalities, and we organized similar outings in the past, bringing together people from all backgrounds, and they’ve always been a blast.
These gatherings are a fantastic way to meet and socialize with people in a fun and relaxed environment. The best part? These outings are free so all you need to do is show up and have fun. Our goal is just to bring people together, have fun, and create new friendships and good memories. If there’s enough interest, we can plan something exciting for next month. You also dont need to own a car to join as we can provide transportation free of charge.
Let me know if you’re interested, and we can start planning the next event! If anyone is curious, here are some photos from our previous trips!

KIT (Karlsruhe Institute of Technology).
🤲❤️

Hey all!
Another update on my rescue from Qatar, he's living his best life here. From a 3 day backpacking trip in the mountains to watching the World Cup at a bar <3

We only came to Qatar planning to stay 2-3 years... that clearly didn't happen! It's been one of the best decisions we've made as a family. But 2030 will be our last year here as we're now house hunting back home. The last 15 years have been a blur and although 4 years sounds a long time, we know it will fly by with the kids starting their GCSEs. Looking forward to a memorable final 4 years in this wonderful country, may the almighty keep us all safe and in good health.

I have read each and every response. Thank you all so much for the advice, support, and for checking up on me.
It genuinely means a lot.
I did consider reporting it to the authorities. What stopped me was, first, I was quite taken aback in the moment and honestly just trying to process what had happened. Second, we went through all the videos and pictures we had taken to see if there was even a slight glimpse of his face that could be used as proof, but we couldn’t find anything.
He was wearing a black jacket and a black beanie, and there were many men dressed similarly in that area. Without any visual proof and only a very generic description, I didn’t know how effective reporting it would be or how they would be able to identify him.
A lot of people have suggested checking CCTV footage. I want to clarify that in that moment, I wasn’t paying attention to my surroundings at all. I can’t recall which shops were beside us or exact locations. I just wanted to get away from there as fast as I could.
I also want to add that I didn’t really want to go out that day, but my sister is here after a long time and I joined at her request. We never fathomed that something like this could ever happen in a place like Qatar.
I still appreciate everyone who encouraged me and supported me.

Ramadan Mubarak everyone
Last week I shared a small project I built, an ad-free prayer time app focused only on Qatar.
I originally made it because I was personally frustrated with:
So I synced the timings with Qatar Calendar House and kept it minimal and completely free.
I honestly didn’t expect the response here.
The encouragement, DMs, suggestions, and even bug reports meant a lot.
Over the past week, I’ve been working on many of the features people requested.
Here’s what’s new:
Quran Section (New)
2:14Prayer Improvements
If you downloaded it last week, please update it.
If you haven’t seen it yet, here are the links:
iPhone:
https://apps.apple.com/qa/app/prayer-times-by-aadil-noufal/id6751736180
Android:
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.yourcompany.prayertimes
If you notice anything off or have suggestions, I genuinely read and try to implement them.
May Allah accept from all of us this Ramadan.
(currently its only for Qatar and its completly free forever! Though there is an optional support option in app in case you'd like to support such projects)

Reached home it's 3:31 AM.
Became philosophers while running. Did a mix of walking and jogging you can tell by the time.
Our phone ran out of charging so had to stop recharge other than that the route was pretty dull dark and ongoing construction 🚧 on some parts it would have been better if the route was the Corniche the views are better there, I think if more people run in groups it would be better. It would be a mix of competition and encouragement.
Still a great adventure box, thanks for all your meaningful advice, and If you are someone who is trying such a thing, do remember a gentleman was kind enough to guide us that:
"I'm in med school and we learn about people who do things like this.
You could get something called rhabdomyolysis and your muscles will literally die and a protein in your muscle called myoglobin will go to your kidneys and absolutely wreck them.
Potassium will leak into your blood and cause arrhythmias (abnormal heart beats) and you could fucking die.
The first person who ran a marathon died btw and all because he wasn't trained.
Adrenaline might mask some of the pain so it's too risky to just keep on going until it feels like can't anymore. Again, the guy who ran the first marathon felt fine, he later died. "
So be mindful of such activities.
I'm not really proud, but time has gone when there was the choice of making a decision, whether to go more or retreat.

“It is learnt that the recent surge is also building on a broader trend in Qatar’s pet care sector. Pet ownership has been rising in recent years, accompanied by a shift in attitudes toward treating pets as family members. This has led to growing demand for premium services, including grooming, spa treatments, and preventive care.”
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
As a cat mom, I’m so glad to read this news, especially after hearing about how many pets are being abandoned in the neighboring country 🙄
I’m so happy that fellow pawrents here take such good care of their pets! 🥹🫶 May more good news follow this.
Sharing a plain summary since I haven't seen one posted here yet. A few concrete changes take effect Friday regardless of whether a company has prepared for them.
Non-compete clauses
Before: capped at 1 year.
After: can extend to 2 years, but requires Ministry approval, and becomes void automatically if the employee was terminated during probation.
Joint Labour-Management Committees
Before: required once a company reaches 30+ employees.
After: threshold moves to 100+ employees. Non-compliance fine: QAR 2,000–5,000.
Ministry enforcement power
Before: a court order was required to freeze a non-compliant company's transactions.
After: the Ministry can suspend transactions directly, and the suspension can extend to affiliated entities.
Sources: Al Tamimi & Company, Clyde & Co, Crowell & Moring, and Dentons have each published legal analysis on this amendment; all four are consistent on the points above.
For anyone dealing with this at their company what part of the transition is still unclear? Curious whether the non-compete or the committee threshold change is causing more confusion.
