PC Anyone else wish there was a skateboard?
The more I think about it, the more it makes sense to me. It would be really awesome to have a hybrid of a skateboard and a hoverboard that could ride the edge of a conveyor belt (or power line, train track..) like the Zipline but upside down, and it would need to be auto balancing. It would also make the quarter ramps more useful. Hoverboard feature could allow for use on any terrain. Could be a lot of fun. Anyone else ever ponder this idea? Anything to add?

PC OMV Gas Station
galleryGreetings Pioneers!
Today I want to show you one of the earliest buildings of my world, where I began to experiment with signs. I made this Austrian gas station about two years ago and its only purpose is to refuel the trucks in this area.
This district is still largely unfinished and my building skills have developed since, but it's always cool to see this gas station and I want to keep it just as it is.
Note:
Last screenshot shows how i used to experiment with unicode symbols back then to make signs.
Nowadays i use Ā u/_nova_tech_'s Satisfactory Symbol DB for creating signs.
No mods used :)
Triggerwarning: Prices are in Euro and from 2021.

Console Update
So, I posted a while ago asking for help with a piping issue for my plastic factory. And Iām proud to say after 350 hours my first play through is complete. Iāve even bought the golden nut statue.
As a final project I decided to build a small scale Nuclear plant, as that was the only aspect of this game I hadnāt touched. And my god is it complicated. I completed the game with my rocket fuel complex, which is by far my biggest single factory in the game, and that I am entirely too proud of. Iām sure there are places I could nitpick design choices, or actually build buildings instead of floating tiles, but meh.
Iām not usually one to play these sort of games, Iāve been a big supporter of the destiny franchise since I was in middle school, so games like that. Looter shooters, and fast paced action games. I had been watching YouTube videos of people playing this game to fall asleep to, as I thought it was not only impressive, but boring. I watched mainly kibits play through, and I had started watching him at the beginning of his most recent nuclear plant. I found the more I watched the bigger the itch became to play something like this, and finally I saw the game had been released on Xbox. I had bet that I could beat it, so I set out to do just that and it has been an amazing experience, except for pipes. I still hate pipes.

PC Stator? I hardly know 'er
Made a stator machine in the mark 1 blueprint maker, had to get very vertical and creative to make it all fit. I know I can improve on it, but honestly I'm really happy with how this thing turned out

this is my 2nd attempt at beating the game (only about 20 hours in, but my last play-through I was at like 40 and in the same place) I get this stuff all the time, and I was wondering what other wacky stuff you guys experience?

PC Confused about vehicles and how to utilize them properly
Sorry for the double post reddits mobile formatting gave me an anuyrism
Iāve been trying to use tractors and trucks effectively instead of belt highways but Iām having some trouble.
Whatās the optimal distance for vehicle routes? Iāve read itās under 1km which doesnāt seem far at all.
Is the item per minute rate for truck stations equal to the belt speed going into it?
The item transfer rate seems to be an arbitrary number. Is that the item rate LEAVING the truck station or how many items are transferred INTO the station per minute?
Iāve only used coal to power vehicles but it seems to use a ridiculous amount for a route. I can only run 3-5 truck stations off a tier 3 belt.
Does unlocking trucks make tractors obsolete?

Console Am i doing pipelines badly
Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification
I have 16 refineries intaking 37.5 oil per minute(i have game modes enabled). I have used everything i have been told to try and make it work but it still wont, i read completely through the pipeline manual and nothing there could help. I have rebuilt all the pipes and reset systems multiple times and i just cant get it to work. Does anybody know what i might be messing up on?

PC Particle Accelerator Discussion
How are these supposed to work, because for a while I assumed, the smaller rings were to gain enough speed, for it to move into the next ring, and so on.
But after taking a closer look, I thought this brace would feed the particle into the medium loop, but there is no path for it to take, to get from loop to loop.
So like what are these doing, this is like 3 individual particle accelerators, not interconnected like I thought, so like whats going on here.

PC Advice on my factory structures
So, please hear me out. I'm aware I'm still only in phase 2 and am probably way overthinking this, but I would like some advice.
I will use my rotor factory as an example, but I try to use the same structure for all my factories:
- 1st floor is for my smelters
- 2nd floor is for my constructors
- 3rd floor is for my assemblers
Each floor is separated by a sandwich layer that contains some belts.
I also make a manifold line for each in between item. So a manifold of smelters for my iron ingots, a manifold of constructors for my cast screws, another manifold of constructors for my iron rods and finally a manifold of assemblers for the rotors. They are placed like this:
merger <- constructor <- splitter -> constructor -> merger
with each element taking 1 foundation for cleanliness.
This makes the factory super expandable (as you all know of course), but it leaves me with the problem that my screws manifold is quickly reaching my mk3 conveyer limit and I feel I can't make enough rotors per minute with this setup (need 1000 for the smart plating elevator parts).
I read an idea online of splitting the factory up in modules (still inside 1 factory building) and have each module produce the maximum amount of rotors. So something like this:
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
| module 1 | module 2 |
| assemblers | assemblers |
| screws manifold - iron rod manifold | screws manifold - iron rods manifold |
| smelters | smelters |
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
I really like this idea in combination with the fact that I can still expand my manifolds once I unlock mk4 belts. My only problem is that the factory gets reaaaaally wide. The screws manifold next to the iron rod manifold for 1 module takes already 10 foundations, add a module and you end up with 20, and so on.
Does anyone have any advice for me?

Console Train logistics?
(First-time player)
Iāve outgrown centralized production at my starter area, currently working on starting aluminum development.
I donāt really want to get into spreadsheets to track everything, so I prefer a system I can reason about easily.
My tentative expansion plan:
Build a distribution hub station for basic parts. This will deal with buffering, overflow, keeping dimensional storage full, and sinking excess. Huge area required, with 2 stations (input and output) per basic parts type. Plan for expansion. A few local inputs, but mostly dedicated to consolidating parts from elsewhere. May eventually want multiple hubs? Or might build this more centrally on the map and just go big.
Resource node factories will have smelters and constructors or refineries, and send any āsingle originā product back to the hub. They might be multipurpose (eg plastic, rubber, packaged fuel) or optimized for a single purpose (just plastic) depending on current needs.
Every other factory will be dedicated to higher order work like assembly and manufacturing. Theyāll each have two train stations, one inbound, one outbound.
Outbound complex products will be dispatched in delivery runs to factories that need them, they donāt use the hubs.
My confusion lies in whether to split delivery by car, or split by train.
At first, I thought it would be easier to plan around single-resource trains, where each stop unloads one car. Add a customer, add a car. Felt like the most āreal worldā approach. But in the game, it has the weird implications that a) loading needs a carefully balanced splitter system to distribute across cars for fairness to all the customers, yet they donāt necessarily have equal needs, and b) all other stations need to pad dead platforms proportional to other customers. This latter point feels unmanageable as the network grows.
So then I considered a train per customer, one car per requirement. But then loading is weird. If you share a loading platform at the source, another train could starve you by hogging more than it needs. So you end up with the same unscalable platform-per-customer issue to solve that.
With that, I flipped back to thinking single resource trains, one customer per car, but with a fixed max N of train length (add a new ācustomer groupā train if I need more customers, go multihub if balance gets hard), blueprint an unload merger plus smart splitter for destinations so that all the various dependencies for a given station appear on the dedicated platform(s) for that customer, and I sushi belt sort them to their factory inputs; key bit for ease of use is that itās overbuilt for all N platforms, set up so that any platform can become the ācorrectā one for a customer by just toggling it to āunloadā. Iāll add the customer number (platform number) in the station name for quick reference. (I have no idea what N should be, maybe 5-6?)
So I have a tentative plan, but holy crap does it feel overcomplicated!
So before I commit to this madness, I wanted to ask here⦠am I missing something fundamental? Itās hard to imagine that this is the setup the designers were leaning into.
(In software terms, what I want is a decoupled interface. Itās bad enough that thereās a producer-to-consumer dependency here, but itās exacerbated because there is coupling between consumers - they need to basically know all the other consumers in order to ensure their platforms are correctly padded! Iām just trying to set up a system where a new consumer can be added without any other changes to the setup, but this seems nearly impossible, at least without an even more overkill fully point to point āone train = one customer = one dependency, overbuild a all-platform merge/split sushi belt to unloadā)

PC Can you give me some advises pls
Iāve just completed the second elevator phase, and I realised that my current base is piece of shit which canāt produce enough thing to close the 3rd lvl+not enough power for anything (I have 12 coal fabrics). So, I heard that I should build a few floors for different things, but when I started thinking about it, I realised that I didnāt have the slightest idea how to implement it. I thought that I need to find a better place with pure iron, but what then? How to do a factory which gonna be able to make materials for anything? How to place separators to get equal amounts of materials for every structure? Maybe I need to to collect energy slugs or open something in M.A.M? I have no idea what to do next to not stop like in the second phase.
