Thats... well... until I See Others building Factories so much bette. In both efficency and design. Do you have any Tips how to improve and Most of all how many Items I need to produce(currently in Stage 4)?

PC Sometimes wish learning new things wasn’t so brutal in this game

Just spent like 4/5 hours creating a blueprint (2nd ever, 1st with multiple floors) that was all for nothing because I didn’t know I needed to have everything connected to a piece that is connected to the floor.

The giant box around the whole designer led me to believe it tracks what’s inside of it, after a bit of research I now know to check the terminal frequently to make sure things inside are being tracked correctly from the increasing materials cost, but it sucks there wasn’t more of a visual cue to make it more apparent, maybe something like the dismantling screen tint but a bit more subtle. Some parts of this game are very intuitive to pick up, but others are not so much at all

PC What are some things that are definitely cheating but you've managed to gaslight yourself into saying it's not cheating ?

I've restarted this game over 20 times. Tbf I usually burn out just a bit later in the game than my last previous restart, when I realise that I could have in fact done some things better and then start from scratch.

That being said, theres a lot of things i get fed up with. Especially that now i've actually taken an interest in building.

So i've looked for ways to stretch the much needed improvements for quality of life - especially as someone starting from scratch with almost a thousand hours in game.

I did feel guilty about it though... so I managed to convince myself it's not really cheating - as one does.

So without further ado, here's my list of cheats that aren't cheating.

Tier 1 - straight up not cheating

  1. Starting with all alternate recipes. I've walked the map 10 times over for all the existing hard drives. I have EARNED the right to start with screws from iron ingot already. NOT cheating.

  2. Starting with everything from the awesome shop unlocked. These are cosmetics. And I like to build. And I want to be able to build nice things from start. No I don't want modular frame making foundations in the air that I will delete and put somewhere nice and tidy after I unlock catwalks, ramps, windows, conveyor holes and all that. I get how they would be overwhelming to throw at a completely new player but I know my way around. NOT cheating.

Tier 2 - sort of cheating but not really

  1. Flight mode when building. As I said, I like to build. Unfortunately most buildings (at least in my case) look like garbage if I can't look at them from afar and adjust proportions, color schemes and everything else. Also good luck seeing what fits where (especially in canyon areas) without flying. It's a nightmare.

More so, I am proud to anounce that as of right now my highways are no longer platforms in the sky, thanks flight mode - this is entirely because of you. I always say I'll do it when i get the hover pack, and I always get the hoverpack and I'm overwhelmed by how much there is to do and I do nothing. With <3 flight mode <3 you can do sections as early as tier 2.

  1. No build-cost while building in tier 1. Do you want a cute little factory for you iron plates ? How about placing your rotor production in a tower with a view ? Sounds lovely ! Now shit 10.000 concrete pieces please. And also figure out silica production.

Completely unreasonable. Especially on a leaves and wood energy budget. You can always turn on creative mode when building a tier one factory. It is ethical and will not put you on the list.

Tier 3 - cheating but I am being wilfully ignorant and will not take any criticism.

  1. CHEAP DIMENSIONAL DEPOT. G O O D L O R D. See the pillars above ? Over 5000 concrete. Straight up unpleasant to do if I have to keep running back and forth for more. The game is playable without them, sure, but I ain't building shit that is nice if I have to keep interrupting my flow constantly cause I'm out of x or y. Just no. I'd also probably skim out of everything just to stretch materials. This is just quality of life - although I admit its stretched out.

  2. Giving myself the running boots and the parachute the second I start the game. Yeah okay, this isn't "quality of life" this is cheating. But also the first thing i do when I spawn is get the chainsaw and go cut mushroom then i go put a bunch of miners on a quartz depot nearby to craft the boots. Yeah, I can skip those 20 mins. Gimme the boots and the parachute.

What are some of the things you do that you've managed to rebrand as not cheating ?

How do I automate aluminum to the best of its capabilities?

I have basic aluminum and advanced aluminum making unlocked, I also have all the driveable stuff unlocked (truck, tractor, explorer) and I have 2 active train systems (1 for plastic the other to haul my liquid aluminum and sulfuric acid) and I can make drones but I have to automate my aluminum to make radio control units.

And what’s the best way to automate computers? (Using the crystal computer alt recipe that requires crystal oculators and circuit boards)

PC Radars everywhere Spoiler

Post image
4 Upvotes

Its my second time playing Satisfactory, and I knew the map was big, but I always conditioned myself in the spawn area, but today I'm in the process of setting radars everywhere and something clicked. I just got why people make mini factories instead of massive factories.

Also I did setup my first automated train to bring all that plastic, rubber and aliminum to my spawn area factory.

I still have a lot to understand about the game, but I feel I will improve greatly from now on !

Console Blueprint Rails don't "connect"?

I built a rail blueprint, it's 2x4 1m foundations, with rails along them. When I am trying to route them out in the world, they don't snap together, and while it looks like they connect, they aren't powered. I end up having to build three of them, then delete the first two and "re-connect" the rails together. Am I doing something wrong, or is this not a thing the game will let me do?

Is it legit? By that, I mean:

a. Does it work reliably? b. Does it exploit a bug that will be patched out?

I hate making aluminum. That waste water recycling step somehow backs up (at the aluminum scrap refinery that generates the waste water) and gets starves (at the alumina refinery that uses the water) at the same time.

PC Looking for experienced players to help build 50 BWD/min

Hello everyone, I’m looking for experienced players (preferably on EST) to collaborate with on my world to make 50 or more ballistic warp drives per minute.

I would like to learn new techniques to be creative with building. I am very particular with efficiency and functional design, but all of my factories are on giant slabs of floating foundation. I’ve been told my builds look like circuit boards, which I think is a pretty apt comparison.

So far, I’m partly finished with setting up the 700GW of power needed for it, but I’ll need to build 40 more power plants, finish automating uranium rods (I’m probably ~8-10 hours away from finishing it), and start automating waste to plutonium.

For the main project, I’ve gathered all of the iron ore needed (~16k/min) and transported it from the desert to the red forest, but that’s it.

With all that said, if you know your stuff and want to find someone as dedicated to crazy automation goals as you are, please reach out.

PC Does anyone know where DD items could be going?

I was out exploring and was uploading items in dimensional depot as I was going and when I got a back to base all my Mercer spheres and slooms were missing. I tested it out by putting 1 sphere in then waited and after a bit it was gone aswell. Are they being sent somewhere automatically or are they just being voided?
