Question Recognise this mouthpiece?
Got this one at an auction and can’t find what brand and type it is. Can you?
It is a mouthpiece for alto saxophone and play’s nice with a dark tone. It has, besides the number on the metal band and the grooves on both sides, no markings.
The only brand I found that uses the metal band is Selmer on a 1920’s ‘air flow’…
Tnx in advance :)

Interesting. I’ve seen several crystal clarinet mouthpieces. I have one from Selmer, but I’ve never seen a crystal sax mouthpiece before…

I’ve heard of crystal mouthpieces for saxophone but this is the first I’ve seen.

Pomarico makes crystal pieces for clarinets and saxes. Very good pieces. They also make for saxes, bit I've never tried one. I own an early Pomarico #2 for bass clarinet. I'm looking for one for my alto clarinet.

Selmer did make mouthpieces for sax. Soprano, alto , and tenor. There were some selmer clarion with bands and some without. Depending on age. I have one for alto that is black crystal and have seen ones clear as well. Seen one tenor no shank band. I also have a crystal couesnon. I'll attach some more pics. I have the same for clarinet as well both black selmer and frosted couesnon. Nicolas trefeil has some good info. What i will say is that every banded metal and glass mouthpiece I've seen from selmer had cracking issues with the glass and metal expanding at different rates. So either your lucky or it's another brand. I'm guessing as it's marked 1 that it's not selmer though. To be fair selmer stencils like medalion can be marked numerically rather than alphabetically, so ibwouldnt fully rule it out. My guess is it's italian

O'Brien made the Selmer crystal mouthpieces in Indianapolis, but those were only for clarinet. They look similar, with the channels in the side. But the band on the shank looks more like the Lelandais crystal mouthpieces.
