Visitors keep asking about the "Spider-Man noodles", so I went through the news coverage from the July press tour and put the reported stops in order. Sharing the practical bits here because most of the English articles skip how to actually get there.
Half day, Yu Garden side:
- BalaThé at Yu Garden for fruit tea, about 30 RMB. Yuyuan Garden station, Line 10 exits 3A/3B or Line 14 exit 7, then about 10 minutes on foot.
- The Semir in the Yu Garden department store (159 Jiuxiaochang Rd), where Tom bought the 159 RMB denim shorts when it hit 36°C.
- Wei Xiang Zhai, the Hubei Rd branch (151 Hubei Rd, opposite Shanghai Book City). Majiang mian is about 14 RMB. Nanjing East Rd exit 4. If you'd rather go to the original one, Yandang Rd is about 300 m from South Huangpi Rd Line 1 exit 1 (11 tables, open 6:30 to 21:00, order and pay first).
- Walk about 1.2 km down Nanjing East Rd to the Bund, where they did the photo call. Sunset is the time to go.
Evening, Huaihai Rd / FFC:
- Matcha Wang at HAI550 (550 Huaihai Middle Rd), about 35 RMB. Huaihai Middle Rd on Line 13 is the closest. Xintiandi station is a 17 min walk, so don't use that one.
- Bar Leone in Sinan Mansions, where Vogue HK says they had the mortadella focaccia.
- Fu He Hui on Yuyuan Rd for dinner, roughly 1,000 RMB pp, book ahead. Jiangsu Rd station, Line 11 exits 6/7 are about 150 m away.
Yu Garden itself is closed Mondays and last entry is 16:00, so do that leg first.
Full write-up with photos is on my blog if useful: https://firsttimechina.indieapril.fun/2026/10/15/tom-holland-zendaya-shanghai-food-trail/ (it has a couple of affiliate tour links at the bottom, flagging that up front). Happy to fix anything that's changed, especially if the Hubei Rd hours are different from what I have.
