[PC] What are some PC games you can easily sink 300+ hours into?

Looking for PC games with hundreds of hours of content and satisfying long-term progression.

Ideally something with lots of unlocks, upgrades, crafting, loot, or progression systems that keep you coming back. Preferably enjoyable solo.

Open to any genre, mainstream or underrated. Just looking for games that can genuinely keep someone hooked for 300–500+ hours. Closest I ever got was like 150 hours on Factorio and The Binding of Isaac.

[PC] Has anyone tried Over the Hill?

I’ve enjoyed games like Snow Runner in the past and was thinking about giving Over the Hill a play. Has anyone had a chance to try it out and if so, what are your thoughts so far? Also how would you say the game is as a single player experience? Would anyone recommend picking up Over the Hill at its current discount price?

[PC] Looking for some recommendations for someone who cant commit to one choice!

• Upvotes

im looking for some good game recommendations as my boss gave me a small bonus for some extra work i did, i dont get to buy games very often so i always get decision paralysis as i dont want to buy something i wont enjoy. Id like to find something similar to the Fire Emblem franchise that has some good team building and customization (a good story is a plus). Some other things im looking for are some a classic survival looter game similar to Dayz or something similar but single player, and maybe a good base building game where i can build up a base with progression systems and fight enemies or send out an army to fight enemies (not rim world have already played). Or if anyone just has some good overall suggestions that would be greatly appreciated to!

[PC] Games which allow you to create insane scenarios.

• Upvotes

I am looking for games which Allow you to go absolutely nuts.the best examples of these type of games i can think of is noita where you can summon a sun to destroy all of hell or kenshi where you can start as a slave free all your fellow slaves and then start the biggest slave trading empire on the planet.while the games i did mention are sandbox games I am open to say metroidvenias or story based rpgs which give the freedom to do insane shit.

Tldr I want to play a game I can break and do insane shit in.

[PC] Monster Hunter wild

I played world back in the days loved it so much but stopped playing for years. I miss monster hunter and now I’ve been looking into monster Hunter wild. It looks really fun. I don’t like the fact of the secret just taking you to the monster, but I’m debating heavily if I should get it. If anyone has experience with it, my computer is strong, but I’m wondering if it’s worth it now it looks really fun.

[PC] RuneScape: Dragonwilds vs Palword for pure singleplayer?

I'm looking for a pure singleplayer rpg survival crafting game. A game that rewards exploring and where the world is interesting and 'alive'.

I enjoy building a base that will be meaningfully threaten by the world. I like a world where things will happen even if I am not in that location. I really enjoy exploring and finding meaningful loot.

I also enjoy having a purpose, some goal to work towards, a clear progression.

Similiar style games I've played:

  • valheim: I enjoyed the game but hated the grinding so dropped at mistlands

  • Connan exiles: actually really liked this one.

Which of these is best to get? Thank you for your input.

[PC] Shadow Of mordor or Fallout 4(base game)

Only have enough money to buy one of these, i refunded Shadow of war because it needed 109 gb and i only have free space of 100. Just wanted to know which is more worth getting.

I have some experience with fallout games like new vegas. But, I'm new to the Shadow of Mordor series and wanted to know how good it is.

[PC] I am soo confused which game I should buy..(WWZ/ALAN WAKE)

Games I wanted to buy

  1. World War Z

  2. Alan Wake

Summary of my context :

(I can afford only one game right now, so I want to make the right choice. I mostly play Valorant and Battlefield 1, and I’m looking for something addictive with great replayability, decent graphics, and good physics. I want a game that stays fun for hundreds of hours and is worth the money. I’m open to any genre, so please recommend just ONE game based on your honest experience!)

DETAILED:

I’m planning to buy just one game because I’m on a limited budget, and I won’t be able to afford another one for a while. That’s why I really want to make the right choice instead of buying something I might regret later.

I mostly play Valorant and Battlefield 1, so I’m looking for a game that can keep me entertained for a long time without getting boring after just a few hours. I want something that feels genuinely addictive in a good way, where I can keep coming back to play even after weeks or months. Whether it’s because of the gameplay, progression system, challenges, or just the overall experience, I want a game that makes me feel like I’m always having fun and have something to work towards.

Graphics are also important to me, but I’m not expecting ultra-realistic visuals or anything crazy. Decent graphics that look good and run smoothly are more than enough for me. I’d rather have a game with enjoyable gameplay and stable performance than one that looks amazing but runs poorly.

Another thing I really care about is physics. I love games where movement, vehicles, weapons, and other interactions feel realistic and satisfying. Good mechanics and immersive gameplay can make a huge difference in how enjoyable a game feels to me.

Since I enjoy both competitive shooters like Valorant and large-scale multiplayer combat like Battlefield 1, I’m open to different genres as long as the game is fun, engaging, and worth the money.

So, if you had to recommend just ONE game, which would you choose? I’d really appreciate honest opinions from people who have actually played the games. Please consider the replayability, gameplay, graphics, physics, and overall value for money. I want to buy something I can enjoy for hundreds of hours, especially since this is the only game I can afford right now.

Wolfenstein New Order or Batman Return to Arkham

• Upvotes

I wanna buy either of these cuz they are on great deals. I wanna play a good story and great packed but I'm also going for the platinum because I love trophy hunting so I wondered which one should I buy. I kinda like both types of games though. Spiderman is also on $9.99 discount so I thought of it too but I don't wanna spend too much money because I start digging into these discounts too much. I just wanna border myself on one game a month mostly.

[PC] Should I buy Ace Combat 8: wings of Theve?

To preface: i havent played a flying game since Ace Combat 4 in 2001. Im a pilot by trade in real life (helicopter pilot) so of course I also have a natural love for aviation. I have no idea what the story of ace combat is since the last game I played was when I was 6 years old when it came out.

Normally I play single player RPG games like crimson desert and cp2077 and others, as well as FPS games like wardogs, deadlock, etc.

Im very interested too get into ace combat again especially with the advances in technology but I guess im on the fence over the $70+ price tag.

The reviews for the game are very good, but id want a game that I can either play more than once OR have a multi-player that isn't going to be dead in a month.

My rig:

5060 Ti

Intel i7-11700F

32 GB DDR4

SSD space for the game.

[PC] I'm not sure what I'm looking for maybe a focused RPG without a massive world

So I'm kind of a rut. I've tried playing a few games lately.

I'm kind of burnt out on open-word games or even things like Rogue Trader. The issue with that one was I hit act 2 and immediately felt overwhelmed at having an entire sector opened up to me which was frustrating because I was enjoying the game and like Warhammer.

I do enjoy some open world games. I really liked Cyberpunk and enjoyed Blood of the Dawnwalker as well. Some of my favorite games are Mass Effect, the newer God of War games, Cyberpunk, Knights of the Old Republic, Zelda pre Breath of the Wild, Hades. In another thread, someone mentioned hub and spoke games so maybe that's what I need.

I really want something with good combat and a good story. I was actually thinking a dungeon-crawler might be fun but so few of those have a strong story and I bounced off Legends of Grimmlock really hard which a lot of people praise as the height of the genre. But I was thinking the structure of a dungeon crawler might satisfy my urge for exploration and combat without setting off the choice paralysis I feel whenever I try to load up Rogue Trader.

I own a decently powerful PC and a Switch 2. I'm open to turn-based and action combat.

Thank you!

[PS5] Stalker 2 Heart of Chornobyl or Atomfall

Anyone played both and have any details of pros and cons for either one? I really loved Metro Exodus and have had my eye on each game but don't know which one I'd enjoy more.

Any thoughts on the story/mechanics of these two games? Anyone prefer one or the other?

I'm as much a fan of immersion and story as I am of games just being fun. Just wanna know more before I flip a coin lol.

Thanks

[PC] Belmonts Curse vs 007: First Light

Need some help choosing between these two games. First Light is on sale so is relatively the same price as Belmonts Curse. I absolutely LOVE metroidvanias and have replayed the HK games, Blasphemous, Prince of Persia, just to scratch that itch. That being said, I do like a good story driven game too. Curious to see if anyone has played both and may have some thoughts?

Edit: Purchased Belmonts Curse after a tonne of love for it in the comments. Have absolutely had a blast and im only in the starting areas. Combat and music are great! Zero issues so far.

[PS5] Should I buy Enshrouded, Toy Story collection or Street Fighter 6 character passes?

I'm almost finishing Persona 3 Reload and after that I will go back to AC black flag remake (reminder that next month there's gta 6)

Enshrouded = I could play just randomly and have fun in the game. Not worrying much since it's not really a big story game (I think)

Toy Story collection = I actually care more about the 3 remake. Just play something casual and chill

SF6 character passes = Or maybe just play some SF6 because of the movie hype and get some dlcs to play (I already have the base game)

Which one should I get?

SIB Tarkov PVE, Marathon, or Active Matter?

I'm looking for a game with satisfying gunplay, good looting/scavenging, and resource/inventory management. I prefer PVE but don't mind dabbling in PVPVE or PVP. Which of these game fit the bill? Videos from all three make them look really fun. I like the idea of a high-stakes extraction game with fun shooting.

Have you played them? I'm keen to hear thoughts about the pros and cons of each.

Edit: I’ll be playing solo.

[PS4] Buy or wait - MGS Edition

I recently played all the games from the Metal Gear Solid Master Collection Vol. 1 in release order but I'm wondering whether it makes sense to break this play style before starting with the Vol. 2.

Look, I went to a local drug store what happens to also sell games, and there was it Metal Gear Solid 5 Ground Zeroes + The Phantom Pain (including all DLCs), but it's the old PS4 game.

Do you think it's worth picking up or should I wait for the Master Collection Vol. 3 instead, because the one at the drug store is only €15 (similar to $15).

If I am not mistaken, everything happening in MGS5 takes place before MGS4, right?

[PC] Is Assassin’s Creed Shadows more a AC game or shinobi game?

I want play a ninja game. On steam page it looks clean, very nice graphics.

But after all im no fan of assassin creed at all. It feels repetitive and the story turned weird after the first two assassin creed games.

[PS5] If I could only buy one of Ace Combat 8, COD MW 4 and GTA6, which one should I?

I am planning to buy a PS5 game. I only got money for one unfortunately. I am confused between 3 games that launched recently or will launch shortly:

Ace Combat 8

Call of Duty MW 4

GTA 6

I used to love GTA vice city on a PC and played it a lot. Never got a chance to play GTA 5 and when I did an year back, I wasn't really in the mood to spend a lot of time in the game at that time and hence never played it.

I have played Ace Combat X years ago and loved it but I saw the gameplay of Ace Combat 8 on youtube and it looks like every other aircraft game. Doesnt feel exciting or that Top Gun feeling. Though the Ace Combat sub says this is the best ace combat ever.

I love FPS games, love the battlefield campaigns where I have my own team (not alone) fighting enemies. If the COD is anything like that, I will love it.

So, which one do you recommend to me?

[PS5] Which survival should i buy: Enshrouded vs Valheim vs Runescape Dragonwilds

Yesterday was the release of Enshrouded 1.0 on ps5, and it’s been getting pretty good reviews so far. I’m looking for a fun survival game with really well-designed survival mechanics. I want a game where every long expedition feels dangerous and tense, and where you need to do a lot of preparation before heading out.
At the same time, I’m looking for something more chill, where I can build a cozy base and just hang out for a while. It would also be great if the game had NPCs to trade with and recruit, so I could build up a little community.

Unfortunately, I’m a solo player, and at this point, I don’t see that changing anytime soon.

I’ve narrowed it down to these three games, which seem like the best options for me right now.

Enshrouded or Valheim

EDIT UPDATE: Screw it, I bought both! But I'll leave this up so others can get an answer. I'm sure it's a question that'll pop up again. Thanks all!

....

Now that both are out of EA, which would you recommend to someone who wants to play hundreds of hours in a (1) pausable, (2) open world, (3) minimal cutscene, (4) survival game with (5) great environmental storytelling and (6) pretty graphics (7) solo?

I honestly think both titles look awesome so I'm not too sure which to go with.

Side note: I also like looting in games but I'm not sure either offer this mechanic.
