Child keeps getting sick with the same symptoms every 2 weeks

Since the first school weekend when school started my 4 year old got sick with a fever, sore throat and his eyes were burning, I took him to the doctor and she said it’s most likely a virus and she didn’t see anything wrong his throat was clear, eyes and ears everything looked normal l. 2 weeks later same symptoms again and again it started in the weekend, I took him to the doctor she said another virus or allergies but it couldn’t have been allergies since he had a fever 🤦🏻‍♀️. 2 weeks later again same exact symptoms, it started on the weekend i took him to his doctor again and asked for her to check for the flu or strep
Everything came back clear, she said since school starts kids come home with different viruses everytime and of course I already know that, I have a big family at home and we always get sick but I have 5 kids at home, 5!!!! No one else got sick it has only been my 4 year old 😣
Why does he get sick like clockwork with the same symptoms always starting in the weekend and it only lasts for like 2-3 days? His teacher said no one in his class is sick either. This is so frustrating because I don’t have any answers as to why he’s getting sick every 2 weeks with the exact same symptoms and always starting the same day in the weekend. Should I get a second opinion? I’m really getting worried

Haven't Gotten Sick In Years (Question)

I tend to be a bit of a worry wart and wondered if it is odd to not have caught a cold in nearly 7 years? The last cold I caught was covid for a few days back in 2019 and ever since I haven't had any sort of a full on sickness.

I've come close with a stuffed nose or sore throat, however these symptoms go away after a day or two. I've heard not experiencing a cold could be a bad thing. Had routine blood work done for years now and the doctor has not seen anything out of the ordinary.

I'm male in my mid 30s and take multi vitamins everyday along side zinc/copper supplements, never took any covid vaccines. Could the supplements be the reason for my luck with avoiding colds for so long?

Heart palpitations and sore throat - is it just stress?

So I’ve had heart palpitations since the middle of August and a sore throat. It gets worse when i do anything - like unloading the dishwasher.

Sometimes when I’ve been active for like 5-10 minutes I cough. If this happens several times a day I get the taste of iron in my mouth.

Heartbeat is around 90-100 while resting and shoots up to 120-140 at basically just walking around.
I’m really fucking tired all the time.

All bloodwork and tests I’ve done so far are all ok (normal EKG, bloodwork and ultrasound of the heart).
I’m on a waiting list to get an exercise-EKG done.

Two doctors say it’s stress/anxiety, one psychiatry doctor says it’s not. I do not believe it is, neither do my friends and family (I’ve had anxiety in my life and can manage it well now that I’m 37).

I do not feel stressed or anxiety, I do not constantly think about my heartbeat and other symtoms - it’s more like I start my day and before my morning routine is done I feel my heart beating fast and strong even tho I’m not doing much and my throat usually feels worse as well.

I do exercises for physical and mental health several times a week.

I’m just stuck and needed to write this all down. Maybe someone has kind (or unkind) words for me. I’ll take anything at this point.

TLDR; Fast heartbeat, sore throat, all tests ok - maybe it’s just stress even tho I’m not feeling stressed.

What concoction can I sip on for throat/airway relief? Gig in 6 hours

Started in the back nose/nasal, next day to throat, and these past two days now heavy in chest and throat. I wake up with fluid just gurgling in my airways because sleeping me is unable to swallow or clear airways. So I'll wake up, take 800mg ibuprofen, salt water gargle, sit in bathroom steam while hot shower is running trying to moisten my airways or something.

Anyways, it has been dry and breezy out. I tend to feel a little better mid day but I know that being outside is going to take a toll on my airways. Is there some sort of thick hot tea drink I can sip on to keep my throat and airways moist, coated etc? I have a 5 hour ordeal this afternoon and need relief/protection lol

HFMD

The child I babysat for yesterday “woke up today with HFMD.”

She was drooling yesterday. I was with her for 2.5 hours. Realistically I’m anxiously pondering what my chances of being infected are. I have severe contamination OCD and all I can think about is me being infected and I’m so grossed out and terrified please give me some advice or something oh my god.

Been feeling a bit off the past couple of days.

Sometimes I will get a 2 or 3 day spell where I feel a bit off and can't tell if I am getting sick or not. I will feel kind of sick but not conclusively. Sometimes it goes away and other times it is a precursor for the main sickness.

Just to be safe, I went to the store earlier today to buy a few sickness related items I usually need. I figured I should do it before I feel genuinely sick.

I was about to head out for a walk, but I feel kinda nauseated.

Anyway, I just wanted to ramble about my thoughts to Reddit strangers.

How can we improve our ‘family’ immune system?

Hello. Family of 5 here with 3 school aged children, 9, 11 and 13. Wish I was exaggerating, but at all times at least one of us has a cold/flu/sore throat/stuffy nose etc. It’s beginning to become exhausting with missed work, school and sports.

We live in a very cold and dry climate, and we have some seasonal allergies to make things worse. One of my daughters is a nail biter and I know this is a HUGE factor in her health. We have a moderate diet, they eat loads of fresh fruit.

How can I give my kids a fighting chance to stay healthy for longer periods of time. Any obscure tips and tricks please!

Throat tickle/ irritation

If you’ve ever had a throat tickle that’s lasted over a month, what ended up being the cause of it? What helped?

I’ve been dealing with a tickle/ irritation that happens randomly and it makes me cough really bad especially at night when trying to sleep. I haven’t slept properly in over a week. I’m coughing 3 times an hour to get rid of it. I’ve tried getting rid of dust, humidifiers, cough drops, allergy medicine, teas, ginger shots, honey etc and it’s still there! I have no other cold symptoms. Any suggestions would be helpful.

Illness going around?

Thumbnail
0 Upvotes

In Texas:

So I've been sick since literally the 1st of the month. I know it's the fall and with allergies it's not unusual to have a sore throat or feel tired this time of year. And normally I would ignore it, take DayQuil and try to get extra sleep at night to get better. But my lymph nodes have been swollen for two weeks, my throat has been sore for two weeks. And I feel an extreme fatigue that I can't even begin to describe right. Just a feeling like I could sleep for 4 days straight but I'm out of sick time sadly.

Does anyone know if there's something going around? I don't think it's COVID because I can still smell but idk

What do people know about change? Coming into people's lives with the karma already on her back from the past relationships which she has shown every single red flag I was told to be aware of. The drugs, the cheating, the useless and untrusting actions that have left me speechless. To encourage someone who is going through what they are and to beat them down by the lying, the cheating might I add again, the secrets, the privacy and hiding of your phone and every other opportunity that gives you ways to be a coward and hyperthetical hypocritical liar with more health problems than a dying 900 year old woman. Worthless as the bum that you will be for burning every bridge you ever attempted to build. For 6 months calling me a liar, a paranoid fanatic with mental issues. I didn't have mental issues till I met you. I spent 4 years of my life in a sober living facility to get my life in order for my son, and myself. To bring you in the picture where you haven't even seen your kid but 2 or 3.times in the last 6 months because you're too busy running around with drug addicts and getting recorded of your sexual sick endeavors, yes by me! Your sick, I hate you! Go be a mother. You then come being that infectious sick tendency back home to your boyfriend that once loved the hell out of you. In spite of you looking like the toxic adventure and having lupus eat away what little cuteness you may have had 20 years ago.

Your a liar. Your a vicious narcissist that if I had it my way, you would be locked up in a nursing home. Go be a mom for once in your kids life. Be a daughter when you still have the time to do it and stay the hell away from Tennessee because your not welcome here

I had Rhinovirus at the beginning of September. The congestion lingered a little longer than expected and I still have a slight cough. About two weeks ago I started having a sore throat when swallowing. Sometimes it's worse on the right. Sometimes the left. Mono & strep tested & negative. Ears look good. Throat looks good. Any insight? Im 5 weeks from the start of Rhino.

Gastroenteritis help!!

Hey guys I need some help regarding my gastroenteritis, I’ve had it for a few days now and feel like horror. I’m a female aged 24, been A&E twice for the pain and as I wasn’t able to keep fluids down I was dehydrated and was given some fluids. Recently I’ve been able to keep everything down, I did have some loose stool 2 days ago, not 100% diarrhoea but was softer than usual and now I haven’t been able to go toilet at all, does this usually happen? A form of constipation whilst recovering? I’ve been eating and ate yesterday some small bits like noodles and toast and haven’t passed it through yet. Was wondering if this is a normal occurrence? I’ve been able to pass some pass so it’s not any obstruction (I hope) but needed some advice regarding this.
