Well done to the young boys, a lot of experience will be gained in this SAFA Bundesliga Dream 2026 programme indeed. Keep an eye out on Schaper and Mosimane, those boys are KILLING it at youth level. Also best of luck to our u15 boys who will be going to the FIFA u15 World Cup in Azerbaijan in the next few days🔥🫵🏾

It’s just insane when you realise that a lot of children were victims of extreme police brutality during apartheid. I mean taking the kids to Sun City? Yoh💔

💬 Discussion Am I an employee or independent contractor (legally)?

Hey everyone, so I just want to get some advice and perspective from people here before I actually go and seek legal help.

I started a commission job a couple months ago and I was under the impression I’d be receiving a stipend for ~1 year but they explained things very weirdly and vaguely and essentially I’m only getting paid for a month and then I’ll be fully on commission. Which fucks me because I have not ramped up yet to be able to support myself on commission only. Even when I received my first payment, it was 2 weeks late (which was not specified in the contract). After reviewing my contract it does say I’ll only be paid for 1 month but there’s a whole bunch of stuff which is just not making sense to me comparing the interview and the actual job.

- I asked: “what are my working hours like, when would I have to be in the office?”. To which they said there aren’t necessarily working hours. Now in practice, I have to be in the office Monday, Friday, and Wednesday. I have to be there for required meetings, company functions, and some days be there even when I don’t need to be. None of this is stipulated in the contract btw.
- my contract also says that I am not allowed to contact the CCMA (because I’m an independent contractor) and if I do I have to pay penalties/damages
- There’s also a HUGE penalty for termination of the contract. If I leave or they fire me I have to pay training costs (which decrease after the second year then increase in the third year even though my main training is done within the first 8 weeks??)
- they subsidise medical aid, give corporate benefits, but there’s no UIF/provident fund until after two years of working there
- I’m in the office more than anything really, for e.g I worked like 40 hours last week.

So. Is this a sham contract and am I getting exploited, or am I cooked?

💬 Discussion What Jobs Actually Give You Every Weekend Off?

For those of you who work at companies that are closed on weekends, what do you do for a living?

I’ve worked in quite a few different industries, but I’ve never had a job where the company closes on weekends and everyone gets Saturdays and Sundays off.

Honestly, it pains me having to work weekends when the rest of my family is off. I miss out on spending time with them, and I’d really love to find a job where I can enjoy my weekends with my family for a change.

For those of you who have these jobs, do you find it makes a big difference to your work-life balance?

💬 Discussion What are some at home activities you and your SO do?

Hey everyone!

So, given the rise in fuel costs, and just generally how expensive it is going out nowadays😭 What are some things you do at home with your significant other? Aside from simply watching movies. Are there any creative games you guys may have made or hobbies you may have taken up that you do from the comfort of your home?

Thanks! :)

💬 Discussion Carrim: what is your secret?

I need Suleiman Carrim's doctor to step forward, IMMEDIATELY! Not for the reason you think but because he is truly a way maker, miracle worker, promise keeper.

I mean Suleiman is more than a decade older than me AND at death's door but he looks better than I do. Not a workout or pamper day missed. Please get in touch with me. Also, what medical aid should I get? Is it Discovery's Classic Comprehensive or is it DOH (let's not ask if it's state-funded), I am a dot-connector.

Anyway, Suleiman, and all these other people, if you had just shared the money with us - we would have hidden you but unfortunately you gave unsecured loans to someone who already had.

💬 Discussion How do black South Africans think this country should create more jobs and grow the economy?

Black South Africans, what do you think we as citizens should do, and what should our government be doing to ensure there are more jobs and businesses to sufficiently grow the economy?

Where are the fault lines? Why is there still so much inequality and how can SA become the first African first world country?

Am I wrong for thinking that the Gov could've solved the illegal foreigners issue

So as most of us may know, the government had given illegal foreigners the right to seek asylum at the home affairs, just for them to go back on their decision.

So my thing is couldn't it have worked or better if they used that time to capture all the illegal foreigners and deport them?

💬 Discussion Would white South Africans living abroad consider returning if conditions in SA improved?

For white South Africans currently living abroad, would you consider moving back to South Africa if the country experienced greater political stability, sustained economic growth, and a significant reduction in crime?

I’m interested in understanding whether these factors would influence your decision to return, assuming there were also better employment opportunities, improved public services, and greater confidence in the country’s long-term future. Or have you settled too comfortably into life abroad to consider coming back?
