This sub finally has new and active moderators!

I don't have permissions yet to edit rules here, but wanted to iterate over a few things:

  • Posts soliciting for individual meetups / hookups will NOT be tolerated. A bunch of people were doing this and almost all of them had posting history on NSFW subreddits. If any user with active history on NSFW/kink/weird subreddit breaks any r/southdelhi rule, it's going to be a straight ban.
  • If you are feeling lonely at night and unable to sleep, you don't have to come here and specifically post: "anybody wanna talk??", "new here! wanna say hi!!", "let's chat!?!??" at 3 am. Pranayama karo, neend aa jaayegi. Again we removed a bunch of such posts, and many such posters were active on NSFW subreddits.
  • There's no need to be uppity about anything. Delhi (especially South Delhi) is a cosmopolitan place. Most people have been migrants and new to this city at some moment in time.
  • Be civil. Follow reddiquette. No xenophobia.

Review C R Park Pandal Hopping Guide

For folks planning to go for Pandal Hopping in C R Park, listing down the Pandals and related info for reference. This is based on my ground work and experience. Hope this helps maximize your experience of Pandal Hopping and Pujo.

Avoid your own vehicle. Take metro to Greater Kailash. Walk and explore in following order:

Greater Kailash Metro -> B Block Pandal -> Co-operative Society Ground -> Market 1 -> Kali Mandir society -> Mela Ground -> Market 2.

You would be able to cover these 4 pandals and both markets in C R Park this way.

Visit Kali Mandir at Kali Mandir society pandal if you get a chance.

Market 1 - You can try Mango Sandesh and Rasogulla at Kamala sweets.

Market 2 - You can try Mishti Dohi at Anaapurna sweet house. Try Puchka, chaat at Deepak Chaat Bhandar or any other chaat place you fancy. Nothing extra ordinary, but just to experience the vibe.

Wear comfortable shoes for walking. It's a good walk, but you might not feel very tired, as you would be taking breaks at the Pandals.

It's gonna be long queues and it's ideal to follow the order. However, if you are getting really late, you may request people/ security personnel and see if you could be adjusted. Recommended only if really required.

Hope this helps. Maintain the beauty of the culture, place and help keep things clean.

Joy Maa Durga. _/_

Ask South Delhi Has anyone ever been to Sunday Salsa Night in Summerhouse? Is it suitable for someone who’s a very beginner at salsa (or dancing for that matter) and wants to go alone?

I kinda want to try it because i’m trying to come out of my comfort zone but it has been so long since i actually willingly tried to dance, let alone a salsa. But i don’t have performance anxiety because i’m used to performing songs and stuff.
So would it be a good idea to go there alone? Also, if you’ve been there, how was your experience?

Any regular spots in South Delhi for casual chess over coffee? (Or interested in setting one up?)

Hey r/delhi,

Looking for recommendations on spots where people regularly meet up to play casual over-the-board chess over coffee, conversations, or just a silent game.

I know groups occasionally organize meetups around Lodhi Garden or select cafes, but is there any specific cafe, board-game spot, or park in South Delhi with an established weekly walk-in scene?

If there isn't an active regular meetup right now, I’m keen to set one up:

  • Vibe: Relaxed and social — blitz, rapid, unrated casual games, good coffee, and great banter. All skill levels welcome (whether you're rated 600 or 1800+).
  • Suggested spots: Somewhere central with good seating and metro access (e.g., Hauz Khas / Green Park / GK / Lodhi).
  • Gear: Happy to bring along a board and clock to get things rolling.

Drop your cafe recommendations below if a regular spot already exists. Otherwise, leave a comment or shoot a DM if you’d be down to join a South Delhi weekend chess & coffee circle, and we can coordinate a group.

Ask South Delhi Is there anyone from the high societies of vasant kunj, Saket or civil lines etc?

Hi everyone! I'm a karate coach working with children aged 5–17, and I'm interested in learning more about the local community in Vasant Kunj, Saket and nearby areas.

I'd appreciate any suggestions on how to connect with local residents and parent communities. If you know of any relevant community groups or neighbourhood forums, I'd be grateful for your recommendations.

Thank you!

Discussion I feel like giving up

I have over 60 lakhs invested at different places , ended up investing everything i earned in last 2 years. And now that i need money, I have no option - i m not even getting my own money back and I took money from few people who now wants their money back, and i somehow survived for 2-3 months. I cannot manage it anymore, my mind is totally fcked up and now that my parents also know about it, it makes me feel even worse. I never took a single penny from my parents ever and I dont even come from a rich background . Iknow they would die for me but they cannot help me financially, not even my friends. I m so done with my life. I had one last hope today , but even it didnt work. I wanna crash this mf car at 120, i just care about my parents alot and no one else. I really wish some miracle happen or idkkkkk .
Started my own work at 17 and im 22 right now, left my studies for work, gave the best life i ever could to my parents, and there iss still a lot of life to live but idkk mann, my mind has given up

My heart is full because I made my rented space look warm and cozy

(More pictures in the comments)

I don't know how many remember but in July I posted about having moved to a flat in C8, Vasant Kunj that looked far from ideal because the landlord wouldn't allow me to remove his furniture. The furniture I had to contend with was a 6 seater with 6 wedding chairs around it, very old and ugly looking curtains, very old fridge and terrible looking sofas. As someone who had moved here alone, I didn't need most of the furniture but I wasn't allowed to move anything out. And from there, my side quest to make my rented space look warm and cozy began. And 3 months and many small but significant purchases later (Lots of lamps, yellow lights, Rug, Table cloth, sofa cover, paintings and tapestries), I can say that this space looks just the exact amount of warm and cozy that feels inviting when I return from work every evening.

I have always attached a lot of value to space. I don't know how much it matters to others but it matters a lot to me have a good relationship with the space I am inhabiting. And it's tough to build that relationship when it's not your space and you have to set it up keeping several restrictions in mind. But I strongly believe, irrespective of how long you're going to be in a particular space, to be in a space where things are the way you want them to be can be such a major contributing factor to one's mental peace. I am happy to have turned this space into one where every corner shows me the effort I have put to transform it from a bland and sad looking space to a calming influence on my day. And when I say space, it's not just what I see around me but also things that I hear and smell in that space. As a result, when I am home, there's always nice and soothing music playing in the background (I actually love listening to radio a lot because of its randomness) and some incense sticks are keeping the house smelling fresh. However, I am planning to stop using Incense sticks because the AQI is going to worsen soon. What should be my alternative?

Ask South Delhi Anyone up for next week?

Thumbnail
1 Upvotes

Hey everyone,

I’m based in South Delhi and I’ve got the entire week free. Looking to connect with some new people and do fun stuff instead of sitting around.

I’m pretty easygoing and down for almost anything — exploring local markets, shopping, trying good food (big foodie), playing games, random adventures, or just chilling. Also completely open to clubs/nightlife if that’s your thing.

If you’re around South Delhi / nearby, free this week, drop a DM. Always up for good company.

No pressure, just looking for genuine chill vibes.
