Hardware Steam Machine Arrival Photos Megathread!

Thanks. It's the one that comes with the 2tb version.
All the hardware is top notch and I haven't touched any of my other gaming devices since I got it.

I decided to return to the game that i spent the most time playing on deck.
and yes the lighting is terrible, its stormy and raining outside and i just want to play my farming game while wrapped in a blanket

It could be cleaner(it usually sits under sits in the space under the top), the raining hasn't stopped and it got colder so now im just streaming it to the deck in bed with a cup of camomile tea!

Oh did you get the gamer nexus cover?
How is it? Do you recommend it and do you feel like it makes a difference on performance.

Yes, I got the Blackout version. I’ll just say I’ve never had temp issue or seen a red bar and I’ve had mine for about two months.

Ordered August 29th.
Shipped September 1st.
Arrived September 8th.
I call it my poor financial decisions box... But also had to add a companion cube and guard.

I mainly play on consoles (I have a PS5 Pro, Xbox Series X and Switch 2) but I thought I’d join the waitlist anyway.
I recently went to Gamescom and saw a bunch of PC exclusive games that caught my eye so when I got the purchase email I decided to pull the trigger (with a helpful nudge from a friend who said the price for the Steam Machine and etc could go even higher if I wait).
I haven’t properly played on PC since 2017, I got an ASUS ROG Ally handheld a few years ago but last year I ended up selling it as I didn’t use it much. This setup is much nicer so I am really looking forward to downloading and playing some cool PC exclusive games! So far it’s been working great (I did a test with Doom 2016 on 4K Ultra), but I am hoping for the following changes:
- HDMI 2.1 and VRR support
- Better UI (not a huge fan of this “Game UI” especially when I am browsing games, it feels like using the website basically)
- Discord integration directly in Steam

I placed the reservation the day it opened. I was about 7 minutes late. I placed my order on August 18 when my email to purchase arrived. It was delivered to me on Saturday, August 22.
This is the 512GB with no control model.

Did you get yours?
I assumed the waitlist was long, so when I won the Steam Frame lottery, I got so excited that I joined the Machine waitlist on September 15. I was in fact counting on a wait, long enough to pay off the Frame and hopefully find a job I had been hunting for… but now I have the complete (current) suite of Valve hardware, 512GB + Controller bundle (and Frame).

Got the confirmation emails for both within a week of each other
512 GB with controller. Since this post I've added an external NVMe drive and it's sitting pretty next to the other home consoles. I have been especially pleasantly surprised at how good the Steam controller feels in my hands. It's a massive improvement over the first version.

My new Steam Machine arrived today (25th August) after near 2 months of waiting for purchase email I was on reservation list since 26th June. So finally… (UK)

I had the brown leather skin on my Steam Deck too! It was very cool, and it reacted to my playing and had developed a darkening patina especially on the grips. Unfortunately, I think the leather skin (like on his Deck) is thicker than the normal vinyl skins (like the iridescent contour skin on the Steam Controller here), so it wouldn’t fit inside the JSAUX Modcase cover I bought for the Deck… so I had to choose between the leather, or being able to take the Deck with me out of the house and have a more comfortable palm-filling grip. So I decided to say goodbye to the leather 🙁
That shiny Steam Controller skin looks so nice though, doesn’t it? I wonder how it feels in the palm?

Receive report. Got email Monday right after midnight (early Monday), paid like hour later. Package came today morning, ~4.2 days of wait.
Photo next to my old old pc, with forgotten sticker on it... SM is smoll, bit heavy, lot of quite, much wuv.
Time to learn linux... yet another time, but no coming back now.

Steam Machine (512GB with controller) arrived today! A bit less than two months from registering my interest (in Canada). Set it up without issues (not sure how to pair the controller directly; I'll have to try that again later).
Download speeds seem good; just loading it with a few test games (and our own titles to make sure nothing is weird!) and I'm going to nerd out with it tonight!
