It is arguable whether or not he did any of it. From what I understood, there was a specialized team in SpaceX meant to distract Elon Musk should he ever show up and ask him questions so that the real engineers could continue undisturbed.
The guy is most definitely not the genius behind the operation. He's not Tony Stark, he's Tony Stark's rich cousin with no intelligence and has a fascination with rocket ships and flame throwers.
