News/Announcement DYYA (Diana Leah) announced new EP "WELCOME TO NOWHERE"
WELCOME TO NOWHERE
My debut EP. November 20th.
This record was born from years of swallowing words. Of being made to question myself and my worth as an artist.
From the unsettling realization that sometimes the people and places you once trusted can make you feel like a stranger to yourself.
It speaks of control disguised as care. Of the bitter distance between the kindness displayed and the humanity withheld.
Of how easily appearances are preserved while the truth is buried. Of how a graceful goodbye can conceal everything that made walking away necessary in the first place.
Of the anger that follows when the illusion finally breaks.
And of what remains when you stop asking for permission to exist as you are.
I wrote this record because music became the only place where I could give a voice to the things I could not say aloud.
You’ve been following the transmissions. Now you know their origin. This record is not a reason. It’s a consequence.
If you’re looking for answers, welcome to nowhere.

Diana leaves Delain, band continues without replacement
Diana has decided to step away from Delain after many years with the band to pursue other things in life.
While her departure naturally brings a sense of sadness, we look back with great gratitude on everything they have shared together.
We fully respect Diana's decision and wishe her all the best in this new chapter of her life.
She will always have a place in the Delain family, and the door will always be open to her.
We have been reflecting on our future and ultimately chose to embrace a new and exciting creative direction, bringing together a wide range of artists and musical perspectives.
At the heart of Delain remains our founder and songwriter, Martijn Westerholt.
Alongside him, Ludovico Cioffi, Ronald Landa and Sander Zoer form Delain's core.
Rather than looking for a direct replacement for Diana, we have chosen to embrace collaboration on a much broader scale.
Different voices, personalities and musical perspectives can now come together around the band, allowing each song and performance to take on its own character.
For the upcoming album, each artist contributes their own voice, personality and musical identity, creating a record that remains unmistakably Delain while opening the door to an entirely new range of musical possibilities.
The concept extends beyond the album
.
Many of the artists will also join Delain live, creating a dynamic musical collective that can take different forms from song to song and from show to show.
The timing could hardly be more fitting.
Twenty years after the debut, we are carrying forward the collaborative spirit of the beginnings while taking the idea further than ever before.
"Delain has always been about bringing different musical worlds together. Twenty years ago, Lucidity started with that idea.
Now, twenty years later, we are taking it further than ever before."
- Martijn

New Release “Snow Queen” by Suffocatus (Instrumental Symphonic Metal) - Single
For those who love Nightwish and Haggard.
I tried to blend the fairytale atmosphere of old Disney animated films with classical music in this composition. As always, I drew inspiration from the works of Liszt, Chopin, and Rachmaninoff.
I hope you enjoy it.
Sincerely yours,
Suffocatus.

Discussion Need recommendations for expanding my listening!
Hi, I got into symphonic metal a few years ago starting with Nightwish and have since expanded to quite a few bands, and am looking for some recommendations to expand further.
I thought if I listed to what I’ve listened to so far with a brief summary of my thoughts then it might help with some tailored recommendations:
- Nightwish - All albums, love everything except their debut.
- Epica - All albums, love everything, have seen live twice.
- Within Temptation - All albums, love everything except their debut which I struggled to get into. Have seen live once.
- Xandria - Listened to everything from Neverworlds End onwards, really enjoy the band despite lack of originality. Have seen live once.
- Visions of Atlantis - Only listened to the 2x pirate albums but really love them. Have seen live once.
- Ad Infitium - All albums, love it all, have seen live twice.
- Seven Spires - All albums, phenomenal, seen live twice.
- Leaves Eyes - Only listened to more recent albums (Viking ones), enjoy but not my favourite.
- Sirenia - a few albums, still exploring their discography. Seem to enjoy the newer stuff which most people seem to dislike.
- Amaranrthe - All albums, I know not really symphonic but including anyway. Really like them despite cheesiness, have seen live once.
- Charlotte Wessels - Just listened to the Obsession as she was opening for Epica. Really loved the album and she was great live.
I was thinking of listening to some of Delains albums next given I enjoyed Charlottes solo one.
