Ask r/tanzania Turkish E-visa

/r/visas/comments/1x40gwn/turkish_evisa/

Hello,Has anyone applied for a Turkish e visa? I have about 20hours transit there and I thought why not explore Istanbul . I do have an onward ticket, But I see to qualify for this you have to have a US/ UK/Schengen visa/resident permit. Tanzania passport holder here.

You can’t…I was once stuck there for 24 hrs and they had ( this is in their policy) to provide me a bed to sleep in for free..they couldn’t do it because I didn’t have a Turkish visa (you have to apply for one )

Omg, so sorry about that, it’s always so frustrating. I checked the requirements for the Turkish visa , it’s just too much work for a 20 hours transit. I guess I’ll skip all the hustle. I always thought Turkish visa is easy

The stupid thing is that there are lounges (private lounges) which do have beds but Turkish airlines will take you to a hotel in Istanbul (if you have a visa) I hate turkish airlines !!!

Nah bra, it’s genuinely bad service. I still get PTSD whenever I fly Turkish Airlines and have a connecting flight .
I remember flying from Ercan International Airport in Northern Cyprus (TRNC) to Istanbul. The flight from Ercan was delayed, and by the time we landed in Istanbul, my connecting flight had already left. Mind you, the delay was entirely on their end, not mine.
So there I was, stranded at Istanbul Airport. You’d think they’d at least provide a hotel, considering it was their fault I missed my connection. But nope. Apparently, I needed a Turkish visa to leave the airport and access the hotel.
I literally ended up sleeping on a desk at the airport 💀. And the funniest part? I later discovered there were lounges inside the airport where I could’ve rested comfortably, although you have to pay extra for those.
And what did Turkish Airlines offer me as compensation for all that inconvenience? A meal voucher for a burger and a Coke. That’s it.

Bu nasıl hizmet ya? (What kind of service is this?)
You’d expect this kind of chaos from an airline like Kenya Airways or Tanzanian Airways, but Turkish Airlines? A member of Star Alliance? After paying thousands of dollars for flights, surely you can do better.
I only fly with them when I absolutely have to. Maalesef (unfortunately), they’ve completely lost my trust.

It’s a common thing that they do fuck them
