Africa Turkish E-visa

Hello,Has anyone applied for a Turkish e visa? I have about 20hours transit there and I thought why not explore Istanbul . I do have an onward ticket, But I see to qualify for this you have to have a US/ UK/Schengen visa/resident permit. Tanzania passport holder here.

Where are you coming from and where are you going? A lot depends on that. If you’re going from Tanzania to Germany via Istanbul, then they’re happy to let you in. The assumption is that if you have permission to enter Germany, you likely won’t overstay in Turkey or try to immigrate there. On the other hand, if you are going from Tanzania to India via. Istanbul, it’s highly unlikely you’ll get a transit visa. Your Indian visa or work permit won’t suffice. Istanbul airport is huge and you won’t have any problems killing time there. There’s even a Yotel inside the airport in the secure airside area. You could get a room there for 20 hours and eat and drink at the airport and watch flights take off. You could try your luck with the immigration authorities. Sometimes they may land you for a day or two. It all depends.
