Open | Windows Desktop - Windows applications / system taking longer to boot / open

Recently noticed, since getting my desktop, that applications are taking longer than before to open. Boot time is becoming noticeably longer and applications like chrome are taking more time to load and respond. How could I fix this?

There's not much information for others to help you, as such, every response is likely to be a best guess.

You don't mention your PC make/model and specs, if you have any errors or events highlighted, if you've installed anything recently before the problem, you don't mention what this time period is, are applications taking seconds, minutes to open?

As an example, you don't mention what your storage is, if its a hard drive or SSD, you don't mention how much free space you have, there's no information on what tests you've done, no one knows if you are using fastboot or starting the PC clean from a cold boot.

It could be nothing more than you have virtually no storage space, have a hardware fault, a virus, have conflicting drivers etc.

Check the health of the internal storage device using Crystal Disk Info.
