Phone message Dating in 2026

Post image

I just met him a few weeks ago and he gave me his number. I like slow burning connections because that way I get a better sense of who I'm getting involved with before I allow him to take me on a date. I don’t really know much about him, so I try to set up FaceTime calls at a convenient time for both of us, but he’s not giving me much to work with

How about go on the date? It’s a lot easier to see if you have chemistry in person.

I wouldn't want to date someone who texts like that. Look at his initial texts. It's objectifying and there's no substance there. Look at his response. It's dismissive.

Same, but that’s not what OP was complaining about

Literally anything. Anything at all. Want engagement? Engage.

I just engaged here more than OP did with someone they exchanged numbers with. It takes seconds.

His response absolutely should be dismissive, what was that shit she sent him?

OP argues about not being “actively talked to”. They didn’t exactly put in any effort either. They are just waiting for it to happen. So I read it as both parties failing to actually communicate. You ask what they were supposed to say here? Literally anything.

Anything would have been a good start.
