A Washington State Ballot Measure Would Make Every Girl on a Girls’ School Team Get Her Sex Medically Verified - and It Doesn’t Say Who Pays.

Not just who pays but who does it. If I was a transphobic cis parent of a cis girl and some law said my daughter had to have her genitals inspected to prevent "boys" from being on the "girls' team," I'd be livid.
They call trans people the perverts but we're not the ones trying to pass laws to mandate minors get their genitals inspected to participate in sports.

They're willing to sacrifice their children in order to hurt trans people. Their bloodlust is unquenchable.

The weird thing is that they see their own children as property and they think they have sole rights over their own children. They think that no one - not the schools, not the doctors, not the government, not their own kids - should ever be able to tell them what to do with their own kids.

They’re going to look in the pants of every girl who joins a sports team now? Who’s the creep who came up with that idea?

That would be Brian Heywood. Rich hedge fund manager from Californnia that moved up here and has been trying to fuck up our tax laws for several voting cycles. Naturally as a rich conservative douchebag he's going after trans people this year.

Honestly, who pays is the least problematic thing about this bill, and thankfully it's not going to pass.

I mean, it's equally problematic.
If a single parent starts screaming that a girl is transgender because their child is losing, the parents of the girl will then be put into a situation of paying for a chromosomal test. The cheapest test is $200. However, it comes with a high false positive rate. So the cheapest one with an acceptable false positive rate comes to $1,200. Ain't no way conservatives are going to pay for that. They'll scream "socialism" and scream that it's the parents' responsibility to prove their child isn't trans.

That conversation doesn't matter if it doesn't pass, hence why it can be allocated to not mattering as much as the attack on trans people this is, the precedent this is intending to set to be used for other bills, and the harm this implies and would cause girls having to go through this extremely unnecessary and invasive purity test that is ultimately a first step to ending girls sports altogether.

There are way too many "Boomer Liberals" who've been hoodwinked into thinking trans girls are a terror among us. Please do not underestimate this. DO NOT ACT LIKE THIS WON'T PASS. We need everyone voting!

I said that more because Brian Heywood is hated by Republicans in WA because he's not from the state and yet is sticking his nose in our politics, and some vote no on his initiatives for that principle alone, even if they agree with whatever he's pushing. However, it's those Boomer Liberals who overturned and pushed back the most the last time any initiatives regarding Parents Bill of Rights was pushed in WA and that one had nothing to do with trans kids then either. I'm also not saying not to vote, but that I believe the majority who do will vote against it even if their reasons isn't to protect trans girls but to protect cis girls.

So let me get this straight. The people I’m supposed to be concerned about are secret transgender girls, and not the right wing who wants me to pay people to look at my kids’ genitals?
These people are fucking lunatics.

I’ve had doctors inspect my vagina and ask me about my birth control. I’m a trans woman post Op, spoiler. Point being doctors can notice a penis, yes, but not much more. Yet they can inflict awful dysphoria in trans and cis women alike.

While this is obviously true, this bill is for school sports, where kids will not have had bottom surgery.

Ok. True. Yet how many girls - cis girls - will withdraw rather than be “inspected”. Everyone knows who’s trans and who’s not as teens. Legislators don’t need to drive this bus. They are the problem.
This issue is local and needs local solutions. Let schools and districts figure it out.
Oh and FYR even as a trans woman I don’t agree w trans ppl in sports unless the other participants accept it. At least where $ and scholarships are at stake. We (trans folk) have a choice to choose our gender identity or our athletics. If the former is most important then surely it’s worth choosing club than competitive sports.

Or. Nobody does genital inspections on any girls when if they decide to do that locally.

Bully for you. Some of us aren't complicit in our oppression and realize our rights are our rights even if cis people accept them or not. 💜

Chromosomes are not the same as biological sex, just look at how conservatives define women and men based on their genitals, thinking that genitals and chromosomes are interchangeable, despite the existence of intersex people proving them wrong.
There is no trans liberation without intersex liberation, and we must include the experiences and existence of intersex people for that very reason.0

You said all of that, without even looking at the actual numbers. Ironically, proving my point.
Defining sex as strictly binary as you have, only means there are more intersex people, not less. My college textbooks on sexology disagree with you on this. There are more intersex people than trans people. Do some research.1

About 1% of the population is transgender. Even if we take a higher estimate of 1.6% of the population being trans, it’s still less than the percentage of the population that is intersex, which is 1.7%, if we are using your idea of biological sex as being chromosomal, and that it is binary. The lower estimate only applies if we define biological sex based solely on primary sex characteristics, i.e. genitals and gonads.

Im a Washingtonian and this isn’t going to pass. But while they’re using it as midterms culture war red meat, I think that every single high school athlete should just join the boys team. Then some of those athletes will point at others and insist that they’re actually girls, and then demand that ALL athletes have their genitalia inspected by… someone, I guess… and also that the parents of those athletes pay for this invasive inspection/humiliation ritual as well. Because we really care about the sanctity of boys sports and we can’t have imposters girling it up.
