AI assisted Sauva - Terminal Unicode Explorer

I made a tool to search and inspect Unicode characters in the terminal.

  • Browse Unicode blocks or search by character, code point, or name
  • View Unicode properties, encodings, and their descriptions
  • Decompose strings into code points or grapheme clusters, and compare different normalization forms
  • Preview glyphs using image display protocols (kitty, iTerm2)

Riftborne: ASCII Terminal Game - New Multiplayer Server Starting 24th October!

Hey everyone! Our space 4x ASCII terminal game, Riftborne, is starting it's 7th Multiplayer Server this weekend. Written with C# / .NET on a custom engine.

Since the last time I posted here we've added a bunch of new features and game optimizations like traveling fleets on the map and reworked map generation to make it more galaxy like. The server is played in real time over 2 or 3 weeks.

  • Available on both Linux and Windows OS
  • Programmer friendly community open to modding, feature requests and ideas
  • Build up your colony, outposts, and manage logistics
  • Control ship fleets on the map for strategic positioning, gaining vision, raiding supply lines, and waging war
  • Work as a team together with in game faction chat
  • Single player or local multiplayer hosting available to play with friends

For anyone who enjoys slow real time strategy, terminal based gaming, and a programmer/TUI friendly community we'd love to have you hang out and play in the next server.

Mapbox-TUI: Think Google maps, but in-terminal with agent control/multiplayer

Feature updates...here's what I've included so far:

  • GPX, FIT, TCX and KML imports
  • Activity playback with adjustable speed and elevation profiles
  • Load multiple activities and routes together, toggle visibility and compare elevation profiles
  • Journey planning with editable waypoints and walking, cycling or driving routes through Mapbox
  • Place search and locally saved favourite locations
  • Offline activity viewing, playback and manual journey planning
  • Save and reopen workspaces with your files, journeys and map position
  • Copy a command to share or reopen a planned journey
  • Keyboard and mouse navigation, map rotation, Braille and ASCII rendering
  • Six built-in colour themes, plus custom themes
  • JSON summaries, point inspection and plain text maps through the CLI and MCP

All of this can be driven via an agent and local MCP while you view the changes live.

An AI agent can control the running map you're looking at: load files, move and zoom the camera, create and edit journeys, control playback, switch themes and save or open workspaces. You can watch the changes happen in your terminal. The same controls are available through the CLI too.

Imported files work without a Mapbox account. Online basemaps, place search and road routing use your own Mapbox account and its usage allowances. Looking for feedback, testers and contributors.

Curious what people would use the agent controls for! Here's the repo, with setup instructions and a demo. Contributions welcome.

Request: Wechat TUI client

Does anyone know of a working Wechat tui client? The ones on github work until the login.

If not, how difficult is it to code one?

AI assisted hypereffect is a new language/protocol for server-driven UIs that render on terminal

The basic idea is that you can have a server (but it doesn't need to be a remote server) you can use that to speak a very simple language to a renderer/client, including a minimal set of components, and that renderer will display a reactive UI that can change some minimal local state or talk to the server to get new components or state updates.

Because it is very simple it can anywhere from a TUI to a mobile app or a desktop GUI.

(this is probably not fully on-topic here but I think it would be off-topic anywhere, and TUI lovers are the right kind of people who may come to appreciate the idea)

A small TUI for following football matches without leaving the terminal. Pick a league, pick a match, and see the live score, event timeline, possession and shots, and lineups. Navigation is vim keys or arrows, with number keys for tabs.

Written in Go, installs with one line, and runs on Linux, macOS and Windows. mpv is optional.

Feedback on the keybindings and layout is welcome.
