Converting Master grades for Universidade de São Paulo
I’m applying for a PhD at the University of Sydney. I did my Master’s in Physics at Universidade de São Paulo, but my transcript uses letter grades only. USP has told me they won’t provide a numeric conversion document. Has anyone applied to USYD (or another university that uses numeric grades) with a letter-graded transcript, and how was it handled? Also, does anyone know how USYD typically assesses this?

it's an internal process so I guess no one will have the correct answer. But my guess is it depends a lot on the support of your potential supervisor, available funding for certain research areas, standing of your institutions etc... My partner has a PhD scholarship with a Master by Research from University College Cork that has no GPA, just pass or failed for the thesis.
