Question Quant Pipeline program?

I'm 17, applying for waterloo of course, and I want to get into quantitative finance; im already spending my free time studying math, computer science, and finance; but I want to know what would be the best program to apply for

I'm currently looking at the Mathematical finance + laurier finance double major, but ive seen some comments on pmath being overall better than Mathematical finance

Any advice would be appreciated

You don't become a quant, you have to be born a quant

There are some people here on campus that did all of the uni math before even starting 1a fyi

Just pick anything related to math/cs or whatever you enjoy because your major doesnt really matter to them. And if you break into quant good for you

Dedication is one thing, but most people are just physically unable to do what is required to pass the interview.

Wouldnt training, dedication, and the 6 year advantage work in my favor to be able to pass the interview? what can i do? or, how could i know if im i guess born for this?

I, personally feel as If i was, I have never been this enthralled by something to the point im using most of my free time on it, but obviously; personal opinion doesnt matter coming from me

Btw he’s completely wrong, there are plenty of non math olympiads working in quant lmfao. The interviews are tough fs but as long as you prep and are decently above average intellect you’re fine. Idk what aspect of quant your interested in but I’ve got an offer for a quant dev position and I wouldn’t consider myself to be a genius or anything lol

Nobody can tell you the only way to find out is to apply and see it for yourself if you are one of those top 0.0000001%

I refuse to let my passion and dedication be decided by birth, if i have 6 years, Im going to use each moment of it to become the top 0.000000001%
