Question Quant Pipeline program?

I'm 17, applying for waterloo of course, and I want to get into quantitative finance; im already spending my free time studying math, computer science, and finance; but I want to know what would be the best program to apply for

I'm currently looking at the Mathematical finance + laurier finance double major, but ive seen some comments on pmath being overall better than Mathematical finance

Any advice would be appreciated

The answer is that your exact major doesn’t really matter as long as it’s in the realm of Mathematics/Computer Science/Phsyics/whatever though the competitiveness of your program will be relevant.

Personally I don’t think the finance part is that relevant but YMMV.

The finance part is more cause it just genuinely intrigues me; But i was thinking of maybe doing a minor in computer science alongside the double major

I think the most important is to have something that you’re passionate about and to pursue it, so if you genuinely enjoy finance (beyond it simply being an exercise to “prove yourself”) then I think it’s a worthy choice.

The field is pretty wide and so I wouldn’t get overly fixated on the “optimal” skill set. It’s more important that you enjoy what you do
