NYE Vegas: Luxor

Hey Everyone!

I'm making my first trip out to Vegas and I'll be staying at the Luxor for NYE. I've already got everything booked, and I've been picking away at various reservations.

I'm going with my mom, who's on the elderly side, so I don't want to be in the thick of the streets. We have a pyramid room at the Luxor, and I know those windows are a bit...unique. I'm curious on if we might have a good view from the Luxor Pyramid for the firework show, or if we probably want to get out somewhere else.

I'd like to avoid being crushed in the crowd, ideally, so if there are thoughts of reservations that might come up on some rooftops, I'm all for it! Strat and Eiffel Tower are a bit out of budget, but I'm definitely interested in hearing about some options out there, I've had abysmal luck looking it up.

I've done Vegas NYE and honestly, with an elderly parent I'd avoid the Strip crowds at all costs. It's an absolute zoo, and getting around after midnight can be a nightmare.

I wouldn't count on the pyramid room for fireworks either. Those angled windows aren't great and it really depends which direction you're facing. I'd check whether Skyfall at W Las Vegas has an NYE package with reserved seating, assuming it's open by then.

Otherwise I'd stay close to Luxor/Mandalay Bay rather than trekking north. The fireworks last about 8 minutes, but getting back to your hotel can take hours. Having somewhere comfortable to sit and easy bathroom access is worth way more than the perfect view.

Thank you!! I'm glad you know the struggles of an elderly parent xD I love her and want her to enjoy it, without the night being ruined by the jostling and chaos. I'll look into Skyfall!

75% chance the room is facing the wrong direction. It is Vegas, so always feel free to gamble.

Walk outside. You will have a great view of the Strip and all the fireworks. No real crowds that far down.

Fair enough! Good to know outside Luxor shouldn't be too bad so far as crowds go.

If all else fails, you should be able to see the fireworks from the sidewalk in front of luxor.

Thank you confirmation of that!

Did Mandalay once for NYE and for fireworks we avoided the tram and took the back walkways/travelators/mall walk to get out to the front door of Excalibur to watch then back the same way. Wasn’t much of a crowd to deal with.
