Huh? Man, maybe Hitman Absolution deserves a download after all

Its a cool action game. Although I don't remember the ending. Not that memorable. Though I remember the hospital, you'll see why.

Not really, it's the weakest entry in the franchise and was universally hated by most fans. Of course there were the typical "I had a blast" folks but it wasn't very sucessful either. It bombed pretty hard and lead to the reboot which then delivered a classic Hitman experience again.

It was "fine." Some levels were definitely better than others. Most were just too linear for that series. Felt more like Splinter Cell than Hitman

They also destroyed the disguise system by making enforcers be able to see through you. In a linear game this is pretty bad because it lead to many forced gunfights and limited options how to tackle missions. In the 2016 reboot it was balanced out by the sheer size of the maps, you weren't forced to walk into them

Just get good?

I think the most damning thing about that game was the plot and annoying characters. It was cringe as hell.

Maybe the last 2 splinter cell games but don’t put that shame on the older ones lol

I understand the hatred and I refuse to be a part of "I had a blast" gang but I did enjoy the game.

It wasn't the worst game ever, just a bad Hitman game, that's all. If you take it for it was, a linear action game with some stealth, it was okay

I remember the saints being in the trailer although they played such a minor role that I’m convinced they solely exist as a marketing ploy.

I just love how much detail and thought went into designing these women only for Agent 47 to x the lot in the trailer

They're in the game (briefly).

I enjoyed that level. Game was awesome people just didn't like the change of formula for the series.

People generally don't like it when open-ended games whose whole point is freedom in how to tackle objectives become more linear and restrictive.

Hitman Absolution was my first entry to the series and I too thought the hate was overblown, but going back to play Blood Money after getting into World of Assassination made it pretty clear to me why people hated Absolution.

Imagine if GTA VI were a linear cover-based shooter instead of an open-world sandbox game. Even if it's a solid game in it's own right, it's not what people expect or want from a GTA game, and unfortunately the name of a franchise does imply adherence to some kind of formula and humans are creatures that love familiarity & comfortability above almost all else.

Trailer made such a big deal out of them, only for them to just... show up and die.

Which is exactly what was advertised.

I swear you've posted this to every gaming subreddit on this site. Why now? This is a 14 year old game.

Just curious but how does tight leather help them assassinate targets better?

Ehh I like the sexy nun assassins, it just doesn't fit here though. This is more of a stealth game.

This is absolutely a villian I would expect from a metal in gear game. They are nearly the same as game but one is more casual stealth and metal gear is military stealth. Solid snake never shows up to a kids birthday party

u/Alastor3 9h ago

Metal in Gear, i love it

I remember seeing this trailer several years ago and really liking it but I've never played a hitman game. Do they make an appearance in game and what's their story

1

u/C0R1NTHE4N 9h ago

Story was good. Assassination missions were okay. Worst were the main villain, and objectives like escape from cops missions and get back your pistols etc 🤦‍♂️ But it did became the backbone for the later reboots.

Why the fuck are they called the saints and not the sisters

u/Scared_Ghost 9h ago

This is where my nun fetish originated.
