Advise on Application

I am an international student from an African country studying in the UK. I am applying for a short stay (90 day) visa to travel to see my mom for a week in France. The thing is, my mom does not live in France and is not a French national, she happens to be travelling there and we're just going to meet. What do I put on the application in terms of host person/organisation? My mom has a hotel room booking and I'm just going to be added to the booking. I don't know whether to put if someone is welcoming me or just put the hotel. The booking is not in my name. Any help is appreciated!!

I think you should apply for a short-term tourist visa and tell them that you are gonna meet your mother there, if your mother currently has a visa put it as a supplementary document and that would explain why the hotel reservation is in her name. A cover letter in this regard would be helpful. 

I don't know if your mother is gonna cover you financially too, if she is, you may need more documentation from her like bank account details etc.
