Discussion It’s over for Tapas

Welp. The announcement says no more ink for purchase but you can keep using it till you run out. And of course there was no warning. I didnt top up on ink so now any new chapters I won’t be able to read. My last 100 inks are just going to sit there I guess. Also no news on what will happen to already purchased chapters.

Can someone explain this in simple terms? What the consequences will be for me as reader? (Not my native language)

There are some indie non-Korean authors who use Tapas as a website to post their work. No idea what's gonna happen to them since most of their readers are international.

As a reader, it just means you won't get to support the author. At worst, some manhwas/novels only have an English translation available on Tapas, so you won't be able to get updates anymore.

The immediate consequences are that titles will no longer be updated and you can't purchase ink to unlock more episodes. The ad feature to read for free is also unavailable.

After March 31st, every title you bought will be gone and any money you spent on ink will not be refunded. Tapas is basically going to delete everything.
