Welp. The announcement says no more ink for purchase but you can keep using it till you run out. And of course there was no warning. I didnt top up on ink so now any new chapters I won’t be able to read. My last 100 inks are just going to sit there I guess. Also no news on what will happen to already purchased chapters.

Discussion Which webtoons you would never recommend at all and why?

Post image

Hi, it's me again, the same person who asked for recommendations after being out of webtoon scene for more than a year. Thank you so much for all the recs, I'm sure there are a lot of gems there, and I'll make sure to check them out!

But now I'm curious about the opposite, un-recommendations (is this a thing?). Ever since I used to have more than 10 ongoing ones on my list for each day of the week, I remember I came across a lot of things that it's better to remain forgotten lel, and I bet there are still a lot of these to this day. So, if you could warn me about any webtoon to stay away from, which one would it be, and why do you dislike it?

You can give me any reasoning, like the characters suck, the plot goes nowhere or somewhere you didn't like, or it declines, you never got used to the art, it shows things in a good light that definitely shouldn't be shown as such, the author uses it to fund something problematic, it uses ai, it was never finished, or even if just because the second ML didn't win. Feel free to use this post as your personal vent space if needed haha.

Remember any comments here are based in opinion! So let's stay civil even if someone mentions a webtoon you like, and please never say something that could get you a ban (it goes for the commenters too!). Thank you in advance!

Pic is Shinae from I Love Yoo being disgusted after checking out the un-recommendations.

Discussion Dragging out your story benefits you less as an author than just ending it when you should've

I will never understand why authors drag out their webtoons, because if it's for monetary reasons, then people are going to lose interest, which will make you lose engagement; then you'll eventually stop getting money from the loss of said engagement, and if you just don't know how to wrap up your story, people will still lose interest and stop reading. Like, either way, you're gonna lose engagement, so just end it??

Like your best bet is you get lucky and garner a small, dedicated fanbase that worships you and will love anything you give them, and even then, that'll only last for so long. Even if said fanbase is full of preteens, they're gonna grow up eventually and realise that they can do better and leave.

And all that aside, dragging your story out can severely damage your reputation as an author, like if I was reading something that ended up going off the rails because the author dragged it out and then they decided to make another webtoon, that would make me highly skeptical about getting into it cause i can't be sure they'll just end up doing the same thing they did with their last webtoon!

So to reiterate my point, dragging out your story benefits you so much less as an author than just ending your story when you should've.

The kiss bet I'm complaining about you AGAIN. Holy shit, this webtoon has gone on for so long I genuinely don't even care whether the characters live or die; Sara has nothing going on for her other than her love life, we haven't seen oliver deal with any of his family/internal issues, and everyone else is just...there. And the author's been on hiatus for like three years or something. Reading this story without fast pass genuinely makes you feel insane cause a new episode will come out and then you'll get radio silence for like six months before the next one comes out. Like??? I don't even think this counts as a slow burn because they've BEEN having feelings for each other; they were just being annoying and beating around the bush. It also gets to a point where you can tell even the author doesn't give a fuck anymore, so like why are we here? Like genuinely, what are we doing?? Can we wrap this up??? Let's all go homeeee!!

And if I said aside from pre-nerfed Oliver, Sky was lowkey the most interesting character in the story (in the beginning, before they nerfed her for Olivara), everyone would shoot me. Heck, even Rose is more interesting than Sara, and I don't even gaf about her 😭

Operation true love: Everyone and their MOTHER all know that Suae is ending up with Eunhyuk so HURRY THE FUCK UP ALREADY. The only people who think otherwise are delusional Dohwa/Soohwa stans😭. Like there's building up a story and then there's whatever the fuck the author's doing. Suae, Eunhyuk AND Dohwa are not interesting enough characters to drag the story out this much like nobody is here for their seperate plotlines people only give a fuck about the romance like im sorry but it's true, like if they were people i knew irl, i'd find them boring as absolute SHIT; Suae's annoying and doesn't know to function as a human being, Eunhyuk can't communicate for SHIT and Dohwa's BORING nothingburger ass needs to get a fucking life and find someone who's actually capable of developing romantic feelings for him and stop fucking crying about the ONE girl in a sea of women that doesn't want him like that becuase I DONT GIVE A FUCK. There's 51 MILLION people in South Korea right now PLEASE GO MEET SOMEBODY ELSE. These grown-ass people bro. YOU'RE PUSHING 30. ACT LIKE IT.

It's not even the time skip that I have a problem with; it's that it isn't being utilised well AT ALL. What's the point of making them so much older if you're not gonna make them act realistically for that age??? How are they all LESS mature at 29 than they were at 17/18??? Just give them all the white truck of doom atp.

Unlovable replacement: so you made a webtoon, people loved it, nobody was complaining, and then you STILL DECIDED TO CHARACTER ASSASSINATE YOUR MAIN LEADS??? FOR WHAT?? You added a 7-year time skip for NO REASON (seriously, what is with authors and adding unnecessary time skips like if I had a nickel for every time this happened, I'd have two nickels, which isn't a lot, but it's weird that it happened twice).

Chiko suddenly became an asshole overnight, so November would break up with him and cut him off. He broke the ONE dealbreaker she had, like a week after she told him about it. Mind you, all this happened because his EX, who's also November's EX-BEST FRIEND, Millie, FAINTED after hearing the news that November's brother DIED. For context, Millie was in love with him and was using Chiko to get over him, and the way she treated him because of that was awful.

So after ALL THIS, neither Millie nor the brother is ever mentioned or shown post time skip, so what was even the point? We don't even get to see November mourn or handle the costs/planning the funeral. Does Millie show up? Do they make amends? Does Chiko show up? Does Millie explain the situation? I guess we'll never find out because the webtoon just consists of the most useless, boring office drama with a new nothingburger one-dimensional cast nobody cares about, ALONGSIDE Chiko acting like a creep every chance he gets and November being grossed out/annoyed by him but also finding him attractive???

YOU CAN'T JUST INTRODUCE A MAJOR FAMILY DEATH AND THEN TREAT IT LIKE BACKGROUND LORE?? This motherfucker has been haunting the narrative in his coma for like ten years and now he just doesn't matter anymore??

You don't necessarily need to show every detail of funeral planning or every stage of grief, but the death should have some meaningful impact on November's character and the story. And the Chiko situation makes it worse because the story apparently wants us to be interested in him romantically again despite the damage done to his character. Who are these people?? Were they cloned?? Did the author decide she wanted to make a really awful AU to spice things up?? I guess we'll never know. No, like actually, I guess we'll never know because the author updates like thrice a year.

Maybe meant to be: Well, this one's finished, but I still wanna rant about it because what the hell was season 2?? Having the season start out with them on a deserted island was an...odd choice, but then everything after that was so...? Like it was such a nothingburger; there's nothing wrong with a bit of drama, but the drama was so...boring. Every chapter felt like a drag; I genuinely couldn't bring myself to care about the best friend writing drama, sorry. And then the author gave them the most generic ending ever and just slapped them with kids like...ok.

This is an "old" one, but Edith and Philip from 'Edith' with the will they won't they drama and then...they didn't LMAO.

And if I said Jackson's diary is also dragged out now?...like I'm sorry, but the author doesn't know how to incorporate the side characters well and flesh them out. Like, how am I supposed to care about all these ships when I barely know/care about the characters within them? Jackson and Pamela barely have screentime/moments as a couple; Exer and David are low-key boring now. I never liked Ron, so I don't care for him and Timothy and Ken and Brenda literally came out of nowhere, also none of the couples (aside from Exer and David and season 1 Jackson and Pam) have chemistry THERE I SAID IT. The only character I care about is Jackson (Jackson, they could NEVER make me hate you idc like that's my son), and he's just getting tortured every episode. Exer used to be interesting, but all he does now is worry about David. Also, why are all the female characters so one dimensional?...#noticing...

I'm just gonna wait until the finale comes out so I can just skip to the end.

ALso can someone update me on Castle Swimmer? I lowkey dropped it and couldn't find where I left off...

I was looking for interesting Webtoons to read, and I came across this one called "Leviathan" the premise looked interesting; mankind perished due to a great flood that submerged the whole world under water. And terrifying creatures plunged from the depths, wiping out any human that crossed their path. The story told how a family of a father and his two children survived in the adversities of a sea world.

So far so good, until.... Bam! Last two slice's, anime chick out of nowhere, doing these extremely suggestive poses.

What a disappointment.

This might sound weird/random but does anyone else miss the experience of having a canvas webtoon get turned into an original and at the beginning the art wouldn’t..be at it’s best to put it in the nicest way possible but eventually it would get better over time and you wouldn’t even notice it until years later when you decide to reread it/go to the beginning. I had this experience with so many webtoons like Gourmet Hound, I love yoo, Siren’s Lament, etc I could go on. It felt..organic? like you were growing with the artist idk. I’m sure this still happens but very rarely, I personally don’t see it anymore because of the over-saturation of isekai/ “dark romance” naver webtoons that all look the same and tell the same story (no shade). And these webtoons already look the best they can be because they’re just churned out by companies re-using the same models. Don’t jump me in the comments, please I beg😭😭

Discussion Romance Webtoons Should Not Be More Than 150 Episodes Long

Thumbnail
gallery
2.0k Upvotes

And I mean ROMANCE webtoons, not webtoons with a romance subplot; those get more leeway since there's much more important stuff going on than a couple getting together. 200 should be the ABSOLUTE limit for romance webtoons, and even that's pushing it. Webtoons that go on for longer just end up dragging their plot out, which results in a lot of fans losing interest and dropping them. This has happened to me with so many romance webtoons that I used to be OBSESSED with but don't care about anymore now; it makes me so sad.

The Kiss Bet: I started reading The Kiss Bet when it had just come out...7 years ago. I was in 7th grade when it came out, and now I'm in my second year of university, and Oliver and Sara are STILL not officially a couple. Oliver just confessed, a couple of chapters ago, after bringing Sky back just to completely ruin her character and make her a disposable black love interest (disagree all you want but this is true, Sky was such a nice character and I was so glad to see a black girl in a webtoon that wasn't a stereotype and potrayed as the cool and popular “it girl” but that joy was short-lived when I realised she was only brought in to temporarily prevent Oliver and Sara from getting together. She was literally OVER Oliver and had a bf (albeit he was kind of an asshole but still) until the author decided she wasn't over Oliver (so she was emotionally cheating on her bf??) anymore and made her do that bs confession that came out of NOWHERE just to further prevent Olivara from being together.

Like the webtoon follows the same arc every season: Oliver likes Sara, Sara likes whoever likes her at the moment, no shade, any time Oliver tries to make a move or even think about his feelings, BOOM, an unnecessary drama canonball is launched into the air and lands right in front of them. It happened when Patrick kissed Sara when Oliver was about to, at the end of the first season, it happened when Joe asked Sara out and they began dating because Vicky told him Sara liked him (like Joe what?), and it happened again when Oliver was just coming to terms with his feelings for Sara and slightly entertaining the concept of dating, then Sky confessed to him abruptly. And then, when the author finally had Oliver confess to Sara, she proceeded to drag out their first kiss for over 20 chapters.

And you'd think a webtoon with over 200 chapters, the characters would be more complex, but they're not. Oliver and Joe's family life, an actual interesting plotline, is paid DUST so we can get clifhangered with yet another Olivara kdrama moment. And I guess the author didn't know what to do with any of the other characters because they barely show up now; Patrick and Rose are dating despite Rose being Sara, Pactrick's best friend's ex-bully (they never adress this btw), Vicky is barely a character (this is also just a nitpick but like it lowkey bothers me that Joe and Vicky look so similar, they could be twins😭), Tammy is a creepy weirdo and her obsession with Patrick is played for laughs (she's also been mia for a while but who actually cares) and Sky is just plot device brought in to get disrespected for no reason. None of the characters are interesting, and all they do is think about dating. Like, I get it's a romance webtoon, but that's no excuse for the characters to be so one-dimensional.

Operation True Love: Where do I even start? The fall-off of this webtoon genuinely needs to be studied because wow 😭. All of its problems could've easily been avoided as well😭. The horrendously long time skip (yes, I know the author has said it was always going to have a time skip, I know, it's still unnecessarily long and does a huge disservice to the story), like 2-3 years is...fine I guess, but 10?? What self-respecting adult woman is gonna care THAT much about a guy they dated in high school for like a month TEN years ago?? Like ok yea I get being taken aback and hurt at how the relationship ended, I DO. That's VALID but like...girl..it was ten years ago😭. Especially with the ages they were/are now, like she was barely 18 when Eunhyeok ghosted her...she's 28 now, and this is STILL affecting her this deeply?? She hasn't dated anyone since, and yeah, she says it's because she hasn't been interested in anyone but girl please.

At least with the kiss bet, I can somewhat excuse it because they're teenagers, so they can get a pass for being annoying and stupid, but the otl main characters are literally pushing 30 and somehow acting like WORSE versions of their high school selves. SARA LIN, a 17-year-old, is more mature than 28-year-old Suae. Oh my god, my poor Suae and Eunhyeok, what did they do to you? Like, even if Suae and Eunhyeok are endgame, it's not gonna feel earned to me because of the bullshit the author put them through and how she nerfed them.

Dohwa is such a nothingburger character to me. I'm sorry, I literally could not care less about his character. And this isn't me being a Dohwa hater, I don't hate him, I just don't care about him, and in fact hate how the author used him in the story. He could've been such an interesting character with his home life and his relationship with his dad and money, but the author thought making him a boring second lead who's obviously not gonna get the girl and is just overall pathetic was a better fit for him. What a waste.

I feel like I'm crazy for being the only one who grasps just how long 10 years is, especially if you were a teenager beforehand. Like, how has Dohwa not developed any meaningful relationships in ten years and is still not over a girl he had a crush on in high school?? Is that not concerning?? And yea you can say that it's because he's a celeb, so it's hard, but like..that's not an excuse, I'm sorry, couldn't he at least make friends with other celebs then? Also the entire webtoon is far from realistic so I'm sure the author can bend the rules a little bit to give Dohwa something to do or someone else to hang out with other than Suae like it's fictional story the whole point is to make stuff up, she can at least write him a new friend if she wants to drag out his sad relationship with Suae so much. I can't even fathom why his fans want him to end up with Suae, like do ya'll secretly hate him?? Why would you want him to end up as collateral? He would literally be her second choice/rebound. Dohwa and his fans should want better for themselves.

Love Me Knot: There's not much to say about this one other than yeah, it's dragged out. The concept of the strings was interesting in the beginning, but then it all got so convoluted, and then briefly ignored for Avery and Hayden to date for a couple of chapters before they abruptly break up, and we pretty much never (barely) see Hayden again lol. I didn't care much for their relationship since I was always team Noah, but Hayden was a somewhat interesting character before they nerfed then booted him off the main cast. Now the webtoon is mostly just cute, fluffy chapters of Avery and Noah with brief mentions of the strings every now and then, sprinkled with a bit of drama from side characters. This one I'm not too mad about because I didn't care that much about it, but still.

Your Smile Is A Trap: Don't get me wrong, I love this webtoon and how subversive it is. Usually, Korean webtoons like to act as if every single korean person is as pale as a blank word document and draws them as such (and if there is a tanned character, it's ALWAYS the guy, never the girl and if the guy is tanned/dark skinned but not Korean, he's potrayed as some savage beast or some other hypermasculine fetishist/racist stereotype) so this was so refreshing to see. But...the webtoon ABUSES cliffhangers as ALMOST every chapter ends in an unnecessary cliffhanger I HATE ITTT. And I also don't like how Kiyu is lowkey turning into a yandere, and his entire character is just how much he loves Lily now, like...chill. I feel like we're only JUST scratching the surface on Kiyu's idol life despite us being so many chapters in. Like it's sooo slow when it really doesn't need to be.

Unlovable Replacement: ...This one's fall-off is on par with otl like it's crazyyy. I feel bad for ppl who are still genuinely passionate about this webtoon, like I'm only still reading it because I think it's so bad that it's just become pure mindless entertainment now. Having the author add in a 7-year time skip for NO REASON (seriously, what is with authors and adding unnecessary time skips like if I had a nickel for every time this happened, I'd have two nickels, which isn't a lot, but it's weird that it happened twice). Chiko, the most normal boyfriend ever, suddenly became an asshole overnight, so November would break up with him and cut him off. He broke the ONE dealbreaker she had, like a week after she told him about it. Mind you, all this happened because his EX, who's also November's EX-BEST FRIEND, Millie, FAINTED after hearing the news that November's brother DIED. For context, Millie was in love with him, and it was implied she was using Chiko to get over him, but the way she treated him because of that was awful.

The way everything unfolds is so unserious, I burst out laughing as I was reading it. I just could not take anything seriously, but one thing I will compliment is the art. The irony of the art getting better, but the writing declining. I'm convinced the author was horribly cloned or webtoon replaced her with an AI bot, or she's purposely trying to crash and burn her own webtoon because of a reason we know nothing about.

Let's Play: ... There are so so soo many issues with this one. I'm not even gonna talk about the weird racial stereotypes of the non-white characters and how any female character that isn't Sam is either one-dimensional or treated horribly (or both) because that's a whole other can of worms I'm not interested in opening. In my opinion, the webtoon fell off once it started focusing on Sam and Charles together. And maybe this is me being biased because I hate Charles, but like.. yeah.

I don't care for Link, but the way his and Sam's relationship ended was done so distastefully and underwhelmingly that it genuinely made me feel bad for Link and Sam shippers, if they exist. I also find Marshall to be a much more interesting character than charles like the whole "a woman broke my heart a while ago and instead of dealing with my emotions and hurt about it like a normal person and GROWN ADULT i became a weirdo who closed my heart to anything real and only uses women for their bodies until I met HER" her being the female lead, is a bit overdone like it's gotten old. Yep, that's right, folks, I'm coming out as a Sam x Charles hater! Burn me at the stake, IDC. I'm not saying I think Marshall should be endgame because I actually really like Monica and wouldn't mind if Monica and Marshall get back together, but...I feel like I got duped.

Like the beginning of the webtoon made you think that Marshall was the obvious endgame, and I don't mind and actually really like it when webtoons subvert stereotypes, but the way Mongie (the author) went about it was awful. Like Sam and Charles' weird power dynamic aside (he's literally her boss, yes, I know it's her dad's company, but Charles is still her BOSS and she has to answer to him at work), Sam is potrayed as this pure innocent uwu baby who knows nothing of the world (she's like 25 btw) because of how sheltered her childhood was due to her dad. Omg I fucking hate her dad, his over-protectiveness is played for laughs when it ISN'T FUNNY, it just makes him weird and annoying. But anyway, Sam and Charles' relationship is just not a dynamic I personally enjoy, not trying to yuck anyone's yum.

The only reason I'm still reading most of these is because I'm curious to see how they end. Anway, that's it. If you've read up until the end, thank you for coming to my ted talk.

There are some stories that never really leave your mind.

I just finished On My Way to Meet Mom, and I’m happy, but at the same time, I feel kind of sad because I wanted the story to continue. I experienced so many emotions while reading it, and I already know it will be hard to ever feel quite the same way again.

I don’t really know what to call this feeling. It’s not exactly sadness. It’s more like a strange mix of happiness, nostalgia, and emptiness. Some manhwa just make you realize, while you’re reading them, that you probably won’t ever find another story that makes you feel the same way.

The story is over, but somehow, you’re already nostalgic for the experience of reading it.

I first experienced this with Daytime Star, but it was even stronger with Olgami (Trapped), Marriage of Convenience (every Monday 😭), Mystic Prince, and Your Smile Is a Trap. And now Mori (Beautiful Round One) has joined the list.

I’m not necessarily talking about the “best” manhwa I’ve ever read. I mean the ones that left you with that weird feeling of “I loved this so much, and I don’t think I’ll ever experience it quite like this again.”

What’s your list of manhwa that made you feel this way?

Discussion What are your feelings on Tapas shutting down?

Post image
725 Upvotes

As I'm sure most of you already know (especially if you read the title), Tapas is shutting down at the end of the year (as said here). And frankly, if you told me this 10 years ago, I'd definitely be taking it harder. But now? I don't know, I just feel like this was inevitable as the site has been going downhill for a while.

To tell you the truth, I've wanted to write this for a while but I just never got around to it, and after hearing the news, this seems like the best time to get everything down in writing.

So Tapastic, as it used to be called, was the site that got me into webcomic, and got me through a lot of my tough times during high school. I kid you not when I say I would religiously take time out of my mornings to check the new series page for new material to read, especially from the Daily Snack.

Does anyone remember the Daily Snack? I'm old enough to know about the Daily Snack, as well as the little inspirational quotes at the end of them (I still have screen shots of some of them). Heck, I've been there in real time for the holiday crossovers since 2015. And then they got rid of them, which sucked but I still used the site regularly. But over the years, I noticed a gradual decline in the site's quality. Specifically how they seemed to promote Manhwa more prominently than the indie series I was used to seeing. I'm no stranger to reading the premium series, but if you look at the home page today compared to what it was in the past, all they seem to promote are manhwa.

Like, when I was younger, I had some small aspirations that if I was going to ever make a webcomic, I was going to host it on Tapastic, but now they only seem to push you to read stories with the same overused slop narratives wrapped in the same generic art style.

And while my activity on the site would lessen around this time as I spent more time on webtoons, I would still find myself coming back now and again. That is until Tapas brings out the change that would be the final nail in the coffin. And that is when they lock everything behind a paywall.

As those who use the app know, episodes from the premium series could only unlocked when you use the in-app currency, called "Ink" (or coins, if you're an old man like me). And along side the option to buy Ink with real money, they also gave you the choice to get free ink by watching ads. Suffice to say, I opted for the latter option 99% of the time, all the way up until they got rid it. Now the fastest way to unlock episode to shell out real credit for their in-app kind.

The only way to get Ink for free now is by completing offers, where you download another app and complete some task in it, which I could never get to work right, or wait every Monday for when you get a random amount of Ink sent to you called the Weekly Cookie. But you only have a 24-hour window for that option and not to mention the Ink expires after a week. Edit: And to top it all off, I am now being told that the weekly cookie has also recently been removed.

And sure, they do allow you to borrow access to the first few episodes, but they will relock again after 48 hours, and you're back to paying out of pocket for an option that used to be free.

Ok, I think I've said all I wanted to say.

Suffice to say, while I am saddened to see it go, I'm not really surprised. Still, from what I understand, this will be more of a merger than a shut down, but even if they do make a new website, I don't think they're going to transfer everything, at least nothing they don't own themselves. Not that I'm going to stick around with anything Kakao has to offer after this. For now, I'm just going to save a list of my library and archive anything that isn't hosted on another site.

Edit: And for those wondering what to do with their remaining Ink, I'd say find a creator you like and tip them whatever you got left. Don't let it go to waste. Inject that shit straight into their bloodstream. Force the corporate fucks at Kakao to pay their creators for all we've paid them for Ink.

All that said, I won't miss what it became, but I will mourn what it was.

I guess that's it than. Can't think of much else to say. What about you? What are your feelings on the matter?

Discussion The remarried empress is more than flawed

The older you get, or the more time you spend not reading the webtoon, and actually think about the characters, plot and world, you come to realise The Remarried Empress is more than flawed. It's quite controversial, and in a way that doesn't favour the protagonist or side characters we're meant to care about.

  1. Navier doesn't truly care about the people within her kingdom the way the authors want you to think. I understand she doesn't have nearly the same kind of power Sovieshu has, but still, she doesn't draw his focus on the issue of slavery within the land they rule. In multiple chapters, they discuss the trade of children and adults with Duke's and other Emperor's like the weather. No matter how you spin it, Navier benefits from issues like that, and her dislike of Rashta far exceeds "she's a mistress who doesn't know her place." At the end of the day, Rashta, the working class and slaves are her subjects. Their pain and struggles are what gives her standing in society.
  2. Navier again, but this time, her brother. I forgot his name. However, are we going to continue to ignore the fact that he downright said he would kill Rashta's unborn child? Even if Rashta makes snarky remarks and refuses accountability after, that wasn't even remotely okay for him to think, let alone exclaim for everyone to hear. Love or hate her, no mother deserves to hear such, especially from a man with his standing. Who, would've brought her to ruin if she wasn't favoured by Sovieshu at the time.
  3. Rashta's feelings are neglected by every character. The truth is, Rashta was a broken person, and most of her crash outs were valid. Think about it, your father sales you into slavery before you hit double digits, you're sexually assaulted and verbally abused by your slave owners, nobles turn their noses up to you cause of where you're from. Her actions later are inexcusable, cause that was blatant tyranny, but she was an innocent person corrupted by class division and lack of love. She sought to be loved, and was damned into a life filled with emotionless people who saw her as a mistress, who by the way didn't chose to become one, rather than a human being with hurt and in need of healing.
  4. Her slave owner's son is shameless, and is given a slight redemption due to him being the father to the son, whom they robbed Rashta of raising. Every time his family had the slightest screentime, him and his father were butting heads regarding the child, and his right to a happy home and love. Or, he's victimising himself, and how he was "forced" to mistreat/rape Rashta basically. And when he seeks Rashta's help, and she turns him away, the authors make her look like the villian. When in actuality, he played a role in that cruel prank where they gave her a fake dead baby and traumatised her. He had the absolute cheek as well to call her selfish, and people in the comments always defended him.

Obviously there's more, but this is getting too lengthy, but I think you get the point. The Remarried Empress isn't about mistress vs wronged wife. Instead it's a battle of classes, where people like Rashta (slaves and working class) are forced to understand their place in the presence of the noble class. When something is taken from the nobles, or someone dares to defy them, the powerless party is immediately villianised. That's just what I've noticed the more time I spent without reading the webtoon.

What do you think?! Is the something I missed?!

I am so tired of the “women’s life over after 30” bs. I am not offended it is just ridiculous and not even true.

Like really? A tiny, fragile, blonde and blue eyed white woman is rescued by her huge, animalistic, SAVAGE, brown skinned man? Seriously?
