Discussion It’s over for Tapas

Welp. The announcement says no more ink for purchase but you can keep using it till you run out. And of course there was no warning. I didnt top up on ink so now any new chapters I won’t be able to read. My last 100 inks are just going to sit there I guess. Also no news on what will happen to already purchased chapters.

And they’re not even going to merge it with another platform? Super disappointing after the crackdown Kakao did on sites like Bato

Yeah this is a really confusing business decision to me. If a platform shuts down, people will immediately start looking for the next viable service that exists, and if one doesn't exist, then piracy. Kakao should have had one ready to go, and should have honoured the previous purchases. All this does is sour the users who did exactly what they're supposed to do. If Kakao launches a new platform now, how many burned Tapas users are going to feel comfortable spending money on it? I can't understand what these decision makers are thinking.

where can i download my legally bought webtoons?

i bought tons of ink not 3 weeks or so ago and some of my favorite webtoons are there

its okay that they shut down but i want to download what i bought!!! ffs

hvnt pirate for a very long time so if anyone have a pointer where to go that host official Tapas TL, i'd be grateful

Can't download anything on Tapas unfortunately unless you get something like scalping tools to save what you purchased.

I have been trying but mature one are not possible apparently and some i have bought all of the programs cant find them to do it. Like I spent a ton of money over years and i cant get these anywhere else, legally. Like they are encouraging piracy and this was one of the few that has a comment section.

I agree that Kakao's decision is encouraging piracy. As for getting your mature content, there is a way but I cannot send you direct messages. If you message me, I can let you know of a way.
