Well, I am officially 30 years old. A great midnight shave with a fantastic, slick lather and an ultra soft brush. Speick splash was great at the end to calm a few red spots down, and their balm to soothe the skin and finish the shave.

An enjoyable 3 pass shave with the Winning Razor, the fixed angle delivers an efficient shave with minimal blade feel. Comparing it to Henson Mild, I think this is more efficient but slightly less smooth. It's really even in terms of final shave quality. Hope everyone is enjoying their weekends!

I haven’t used the Alpha Works handle in quite a while. It adds a lot of heft to the razor and is super grippy. The Noble Otter Barrbarr soap makes a great lather. It’s a sweet barbershop scent. Really good tallow-based soap.

While I'm sure for many here it would already be common sense to avoid a product like this, since there are no other posts or reviews out there about it I thought I'd make this post. Picked up in a whole foods, it was next to the only other shaving cream product in stock and as I was fresh out and had never been picky about my shaving creams I bought it, $10 wasted.

Truly awful, best described as shaving slime or gunk. Felt bad on my hands and face. Produced no lather of any kind and the shaving experience was what I would describe as only marginally better than shaving with just hot water. Speaking of which, hot water is something it does not dissolve in so it will conveniently clog your razor as well as your drains.

Avoid at all cost. You're better off shaving with hot water or not at all till you get anything else.

First shave with my first tub of MdC last night (though I've had several shaves with a sample before so I'm not totally new to the soap).

The fern-forward fragrance made for a fabulous first Fougère Friday shave. The lather was just as luxurious as I've come to expect from MdC already, though I was hoping to detect a stronger scent in the lather from the Fougère. The Soap Spoon SR1 from u/SoapSpoonAndy shaved off a beautiful bit of soap (see pic) though I had to scoop a tiny bit more because that wasn't enough. I ended up making just enough lather for my usual 3 pass shave (shallow XTG, steep XTG, ATG). No cuts/nicks, no weepers, zero razor burn/irritation, and the absolutely dreamy post shave feel that I've come to expect from this soap. This shave was a 9.5 in both comfort and closeness.

Fantastic start to my journey with my first MdC tub, which I'm sure will provide me a few hundred more shaves just like this one.

THEME , Sweetest Day, I rolled out the Wickham Club Cola again for today's theme kindly sent by u/OutlawDan86 a sweet cola scent with vanilla and caramel amongst the notes bringing it into the gourmand category for sure and who's to say the soap isn't modelled on cola bottle sweets

I was getting ingrowns on my lower neck. Finally, took my own advice and came up on my first pass in that area. I knew the hairs grew that way, but I guess you could call it lazy. Just wanted to kinda go downward on the first pass. Huge improvement . Instant.

I’m looking for a new shaving soap to add onto my set up. I’m really liking the Wilkinson shaving soap with the built in bowl for creating a lather, but it’s an ugly grey plastic and I’d like to find something a bit more old fashioned with style. Something that looks appealing to the eye and would sit nicely on my bathroom shelf.

Any suggestions?

Can’t bring razor blades in my carry on. In the past I’ve just brought a Merkur 34c, bunch of feathers, stand and brush with my soap in my check luggage.

If I was doing carry on only it’s a Braun series 8

I’m conflicted this time as while I’ll have checked luggage im still hopping around. I even went and bought a cartridge razor Gillette proglide 5 or something 🤮🤮

Traveling with only carry-on required bringing the Gilette.

Arko is a great soap and an excellent choice to bring while traveling.

It had been a while since I had to use the Gilette and I had forgotten all about how “sensationless” it is. The shave gave a good result, but the Gilette has no feeling or feedback to it. So unintentionally you end up using quite a bit of pressure and doing fair amount of extra passes and buffing.

The Stirling gives a nice scent and offsets the slightly dry post-shave feeling I get when I use Arko.

A nice relaxing and highly efficient shave with this setup this afternoon.

So much so that I probably could have gotten away with two passes and called it done, but pushed forward with a third out of habit.

Great scent from a favourite soap and balm, paired with another of Gillettes best looking and performing razors.
