SOTD Sunday evening shave
Razor: Oliworks Meteorite SS (mild plate)
Blade: Personna Gem PDG
Brush: Oliworks
Soap/AS: Terry’s Soap Rose Noire
Bowl: Timeless Razor
I tried out the mild plate on the Oliworks after having used the medium for the last 2 months. I gotta say, the mild plate has a noticeably higher shaving angle than the medium plate. For this reason I do prefer the medium plate. I also enjoy the superior efficiency of the medium as well. Regardless, it was still a great shave.

Question Which…
…one out of these two do you prefer? What are the differences besides where they’re made? TIA

SOTD SOTD: Super Speed Sunday
Pre shave: shower and Waitrose glycerin soap bar
Razor: 1956 Gillette Flare tip super speed
Blade: Feather (4)
Brush: Yaqi Mysterious Space 26mm synthetic
Bowl: Captains choice copper
Soap: Stirling Coniferous
Post shave: Stirling Coniferous aftershave splash
A textbook super speed shave this evening, Mild and comfortable yet highly efficient for 3 passes.
It's below freezing here at the moment so the air is nice and crisp, which seemed like a nice complement to the fantastic resinous evergreen scent of Stirlings Coniferous.
Excellent lather whipped up in no time by the Mysterious Space brush.
I can see why Dan has one of every variation of this brush 😅
Hope your weekend was a great one!

Tonight’s shave
I enjoy shaving nightly, but I really enjoy the shave after a few days of not being able to shave. Tonight’s shave was my first since Thursday night, so I had a solid 3 days of growth.
Felt like the perfect time to break in the Fatboy.
Razor: 1959 24k plated Fatboy.
Blade: first use Muhle razor
Shaving cream: T&H 1805
After shave splash: Captain’s Choice Cat o’ Nine Tails
After shave balm: T&H 1805
Scuttle: Georgetown pottery with water at 212 degrees (fully boiling water)
I thoroughly enjoy using gold plated razors. I’ve said before it just takes the “luxury” aspect of the shave up a notch. No actual benefit to the shave but this is my moment of escape and relaxation and I find it elevates the experience.
Was curious to try the legendary Fatboy and it did not disappoint.
Found the weight and thickness of the grip to be right in line with my preference.
Ended up with a shave equal to the best shave I’ve ever had. Even did a great job around the crease by my nose. No doubt the blade has a huge impact in the shave, but the razor had a great size and weight and made the shave effortless on setting 3.
I’ve said it before: the pursuit of the perfect shave took me to the Rex Ambassador. But the pursuit of the shave that just makes me smile took me to the vintage Gillette pieces and holding the history in my hands makes the shave so much more personally enjoyable,
If not an actual better shave.

SOTD Sunday Shave
✰ Razor: RazoRock Next Level 1.75++
✰ Blade: Personna PDG (3)
✰ Bowl: Captain’s Choice Obsidian
✰ Brush: Alpha Shaving Classic Red
✰ Soap: RazoRock Mudder Focker
✰ Balm: Nivea Sensitive
✰ Splash: Floïd the Genuine
A really nice Sunday shave with the Next Level.
I’m happy I bought it with the 1.75++ baseplate. This configuration is efficient, smooth and easy to use. I can easily shave to a BBS finish with my usual two-pass technique, with no issues.
This is the only RazoRock razor I’ve used, so I can’t compare it with the others, but if the other RR products shave this well, I can see why they are so popular.

SOTD Smooth Sailing
Razor: 1950's Gillette Flare Tip Rocket
Blade: PermaSharp (5th use)
Brush: Omega 11126
Cream: Speick
Bowl: Wedgwood Pennine
Aftershave: Aqua Velva
The skin is clearing up much better now, thankfully! I think I might have to give up artisan products for good, though. It's a real shame, especially as I've only just got into using them. Ah well, the skin comes first!
On a happier note, today's shave was excellent. Comfortable, smooth, and absolutely no issues whatsoever. Can't ask for much more than that.
The bowl is a lovely recent addition to the den. I came across it the other week while doing a bit of spring cleaning around the house. Imagine to my surprise when I discovered it was a genuine Wedgwood piece, made in merry old England!
Ergonomically, it's spot on and fits perfectly in the hand. I'll be adding it to the rotation alongside the Blackwood bowl.
As for the other metal bowl I picked up several months ago, I've since passed it on to a mate who's now been successfully converted to DE shaving.
Another one joins the fold!
Now, off to do a bit of gardening before the spring storm rolls in. Then I reckon a cold one will be well deserved.
Happy Days 🍻

Question Help me decide if any of these are worth getting before I leave this town in an hour or so!
Seen many people recommend antique safety razors and saw all of these at an antique shop but not sure which ones are worth getting.
Anyone familiar with these models/ can recommend one?
Trying to decide if I want to get one before I travel home in a few hrs, thanks in advance!

SOTD A Deep Rich Lavender...
First go at A&E Lavender Noir, gotta say, wow, it doesn't disappoint. It's a deep lavender, not your wife's sachet in the sock drawer lavender, this is a Man's scent! Might be my favorite A&E so far...the soap & splash, so nice.
As for the shave, it sucked! I still can't get used to this Oliworks razor. WTG I'm fine, as soon as I go ATG, ouch, cuts, scrapes, nicks galore, mostly all on my neck. About a dozen bleeders...
Second go with the Bic blade. Alum block with subtle screams...then splash. The Splash was the best part...albeit burning from the Alum block. Debating if I need a stiff drink...happy Sunday shave folks.

THEME , AQI awareness day , I checked the air quality in Dublin today and it was 17 to 35 which is apparently pretty good and there are quite a few monitoring stations across the city .Well Texas on fire definitely fits the smokey bill for the theme today backed up by the Monsieur Tobacco Woods was a pleasant finish.
DAILY CHALLENGE, Brushless more like joyless. Absolutely joyless challenge again reduced to rubbing soap on my face like a barbarian a few nicks with the MMOC the first time I used this razor was in the dark and tonight a thin crappy lather big sigh , I will get a good shave with it yet.

SOTD SOTD Rustic Shave
Again with my favorite British made GEM 1912, and Speick shave stick. Finishing with vintage Stetson after shave. No brush used.
I used to think that Stetson was a much older scent than it really is because I didn't know these antique-style bottles were actually made in the 1980s.
