G__-Dammit

G__-Dammit! Every once in a while I hear something or see something or just experience something that reminds me I'll never see her again; hear her again; talk to her again; or touch her again; and it breaks my heart again. Sorry. One of those times just hit me and I needed to say something to people who would understand what happened and why it hurt so much.

That punch to the gut when it hits out of nowhere is the worst. Had one last week when I heard a specific song in the grocery store and had to just stand there frozen in the cereal aisle. The heartbreak never fully goes away, it just learns to hide better until something drags it back into the light. No need to apologize, we get it

The reminders of the permanence are so hard.

I totally understand, hits me hard everyday realizing all that as well. Those times you describe hits me several times a day, it's like a gut punch.

I'm three years in. I've healed a lot but this sort of thing still happens regularly. I guess if always will. It doesn't get better or easier. That's the truth I wish I'd been told instead of all the platitudes. I'm sorry you're hurting, man. Truly. Sorry we're all hurting. It sucks. It's not gonna just quit. We just bear it. Hang in there.

Had this happen getting out of bed yesterday. I yawned in a way that reminded me of her. You just never know when you'll catch one of those memory tripwires and get a bomb to the soul.

Almost two years in and I am just now getting to the point that Amazing Grace doesn’t make me (m65) cry like the first day. I feel for you and all of the club no one wants a membership to it.
