After my wife died, my son and I were sitting in the living room, he kept saying " I just hope she's ok". Next morning my daughter calls and says " I had a dream that I answered the phone...it was staticy but it was moms voice saying " tell Tim I'm ok"

My husband sends me songs, like a song will pop up on radio that we danced at our wedding and I swear the timing is always when I need it most. Just last week I was having really bad day and his favourite song started playing in the grocery store of all places. Nobody else around me even noticed but I just stood there frozen. Some people think its just coincidence but when you know, you really know. That google photo thing you got gave me chills, the timing is too perfect to be random.

I have a favorite song by U2 “all I want is you” that brings tears every single time I hear it even think of it.

That song will come up randomly but I know he’s thinking of me too when it plays.

I too have been very blessed with signs. Unmistakable. The best to date, early days, I was having a particularly bad night. Drunk as a skunk alone at home (kiddos were visiting in laws) in my kitchen feeling sorry for myself. I genuinely said something like I didn’t want to live, that please show me you’re here that there will be more after this so I know this isn’t the end of us… I was picturing our sons and wondering aloud in my head “How am I supposed to do this?” Looking at his picture on our fridge. I slammed the fridge door closed and threw a fit and when I got up off the floor after crying and crying, I looked up at the fridge and three of the magnet abc’s had come together above his picture, “t R Y” there were letters strewn across the fridge doors but we hadn’t made words in some time… it was so fucking cool. It gave me so much joy and peace, like okay honey. Okay I’ll try.

I might have to buy those letter magnets myself! That’s so neat!

My husband sends me rainbows and lightnings. That was how we spoke about ourselves. I was the rainbow, he was the lightning.

Out of the blue I got a meeting with someone he'd been trying to get a meeting with for the past year. When I got there the lights went bananas - the secretary who came in said "That's weird - never had a problem with this lamp before" I followed up, and the lamp had been behaving perfectly ever since.

Okay this is going to sound ridiculous. My husband and I used to say “your butt” to each other to diffuse tension and it always worked. Instant argument-stopper.

Several months after he died I started a flirty text relationship with a friend of ours who’d just gotten divorced. I came to learn that this gentleman is completely fucked up in many ways but kept giving him the benefit of the doubt.

That was until I got 3 of the exact same promotional emails from my favorite underwear retailer with the subject like “Your butt deserves better.”

We don’t text anymore and I have no regrets.

Definitely a sign to turn the other cheek 👀

Butterflies in our garden. Prepared the ground for rose bushes (which she loved). But then wildflowers and salvia took off there and a bunch of Giant Swallowtails and Sulphurs and others came there to feed.

Many, but one recent one sticks out. She loved Naruto. I was visiting a friend of a friend who had a Naruto figure on her shelf. Out of nowhere, the figure falls off the shelf and into someone's glass of beer.

My husband was always calm in difficult situations.

When he was on life support, I had a dream he was laying in the hospital bed. I started walking up and crying and he opened his eyes and gave me a hug and a smile and said, it's gonna be okay, I love you.

My partner loved planes. He would sit and watch planes take off and land on YouTube for hours, and he loved live feeds from airports. Sitting in the chapel at his funeral, I heard two planes go by. No one else noticed. A couple of days ago, I went to the cemetery to leave a pumpkin. I stood at his graveside for a while and talked. It was really quiet. I stood outside my car for a minute after I left his plot. I'm not sure why I decided to just stand there, but I did. Just as I was getting ready to leave, a plane went overhead pretty low, which is weird for the area. I think it was him.

I have gotten really specific signs from my bf as well. I was remembering in my mind how he told me he wants to draw me next. And my phone sent me a notification of MetaAi turning one of my pictures into a drawing, and it was a solo picture of me from 5 years ago when we first met. Out of all the 2000 photos, it chose that day. This is just one of many but it really feels unreal.

Very specific numbers to us, every day, multiple times a day, for nearly six years now.  It's the numbers on clocks, skus, bills, the number of comments or up votes  on a post. He was a numbers guy. It's definitely Him

Oh, my Beloved,  I see you. I love you!!

Songs on radio, tv and lights turning on and off. Answers or voices in my head just like this morning saying “careful driving, it’s raining!”

I hear his voice in my head too when I have a question I need an answer too so glad im not the only one experiencing this

I have seen signs! For example, my TV turned on by itself and started playing "ain't no sunshine when she's gone" from the beginning, not the middle of the song anytime she goes away

Also, the "I know, I know, I know" is her way of playing with me! I can be a bit of a "know it all", and she used to tease me with, "You don't know nothing!" I would respond with, "Well, (her name rhymed with Jenny) I may not be a smart man, but I know what love is! Or, I would sing, "I don't know much, but I know I love you! And, that may be all I need to know!"

I really havent gotten many signs. Im not religious and dont believe in an after life, though I wish I did. The only things close to a sign is my husband was a conductor and many times when Im extremely sad hes gone I go outside to walk my dog and itll be that moment the horn from the train is blowing.

I also begged him to come see me in a dream one night and it was the only dream Ive had of him where I felt a sense of familiarity. Could just be my brain though.

2

u/HonestMastodon437 17h ago

I believe if you ask for the signs you will recieve. Maybe not that day. Ask for something specific from him like a red balloon or pink elephant and let me know if it works, it has for me and my friend

1

u/Radiant-Location-918 07/09/26 Suicide 17h ago

I think many times that if you ask for signs your brain is just paying more attention to your surroundings and will identify what your looking for. Most things “asked for” are common enough to appear on a day to day basis.

I don’t doubt others are getting signs and that they are meaningful and tangible. I just personally believe the consciousness and brain electricity that made my husband him are dead and outside of the energy from life/ a functioning brain and body that cannot be destroyed by the laws of the world, any tangible or conscious form of him or a spirit is also dead. Like the state you’re in before you’re born. Nothing. It’s an unfortunate reality in my personal life, but one can’t magically change their belief systems.

I am happy for others that see signs of their partner that make them feel close and give hope of something more beyond and I hope you continue to. Im sorry for your loss

u/HonestMastodon437 12h ago

That is a fair point. I have always believed in the afterlife even before this so I feel like I am more open to signs. Of course i cannot prove 100% but i definitely feel him around me and things have happened when people visit my home that cant be explained normally. But no matter your views Im so sorry for your loss

Every time I have a "I really miss you" day, a volcano erupts somewhere on the planet.

My husband was an ecologist/geologist with a love for volcanoes.

My wfe has been gone just shy of 3 months, I don't know if I believed in this type of stuff before, but I am a believer now. She has given both my kids and I so many signs at very specific times there is no possible other explanation.

Granted, some could be attributed to the grieving mind reaching for something to hold on to. However some are unquestionable.

Possible due to grieving mind: finding dimes at the right time in obscure places, songs on the radio, butterflies, photo memories on our phones, unprecedented flower garden growth, hummingbirds. To name a few.

The others that beg a different reason: unnatural wildlife encounters, abnormal weather events and finding very specific things that connected us in places that make no sense. To name a few.

3 examples of many:

1) about a week after it happened my 18yr old daughter and I were driving home from completing one of the more painful post death administrative tasks and we were both incredibly sad. We were in a fairly remote area with forest on both sides of the road. I noticed something pure white on the side of the road. I slowed and pulled alongside the whitest rabbit we have ever seen. When I stopped and my daughter opened her door to take a picture not ony did the rabbit not run away it wasn't frightened in the least. I fact it came up to the car and sniffed my daughter's hand. Stared at us for a minute, wiggled its' nose then hopped back into the woods. In my 56 years I have spent lots of time in the woods. I have never, in my life, seen a wild pure white rabbit let alone one that wasn't scared of humans. Now for the naysayers, there weren't any houses around and the odds of a domesticated rabbit surviving any length in the woods is low. At the time I had a thought it might be her but resigned myself to believing it was merely one of those interesting things that happen sometimes. I now know it was her checking in to see that we were OK.

2) about a week later my 20yr old son and I were driving home from visiting close friends. We had spent a good amount of time sharing memories and were talking about her, feeling that slump that comes just after you smile from remembering the good times. I pointed out a rainbow on one side of the car then noticed another in the rear view mirror. While my son was turning to see the double rainbow he said "there's another one", a third had appeared on the other side of the car. Then he says "holy shit dad, there's a fourth". We were surrounded by rainbows. I have seen double rainbows before, not 3 and definitely not 4. 4 perfect vibrant rainbows. It was when I looked up the meaning of seeing multiple rainbows and seeing them after losing a loved one that I started to believe something greater than that which we understand was happening.

3) 3 weeks later I had a couple of tough days. Truth be told they are all tough but these were hard ones. My mind was racing with the questions. Is she safe wherever she is? Will she be waiting for me when it's my turn? Does she still remember us? 2 days of deep grief. I was slowly coming out of it and had to check a photo of a schedule I had on my phone. When I opened up my gallery I didn't recognize the most recent photograph. It was of a smiling young girl, maybe 5 or 6, standing in a sunflower field looking through the window of a wooden door. Just a door, no walls. My wife loved sunflowers. The girl looks very much like my daughter, anyone I've shown it to immediately asks if it's her. When looking at pictures of my wife around that age they are very similar. I had never seen that picture before. I didn't take that photo. I have never been to a sunflower field. I don't browse websites of sunflower fields. I went through all my emails, messages, texts, etc to see if it had been sent to me and I downloaded it somehow. Nope. When checking the details of the Pic all it shows is the date it was downloaded to my phone. All other photos identify if it was taken, downloaded from a text or a website, etc. The date it was downloaded was the day I was in the deepest of sadness. I have owned a smartphone since the days of the original BlackBerry, I have never had an unknown photo just appear. It was her telling me she's OK, we're going to be OK and she's waiting just on the other side of that door.

These are only 3 of my personal experiences, my kids have had their own as well. The sheer volume of things which have occurred that are unexplainable is evidence enough. To me anyways.

What I'll say to those who haven't had a sign yet is, don't look for one. It will come when you aren't looking.

I love that you believe now and she has definitely proven she is with you

u/Zestyclose_Treat4098 husband died at 51 from sudden stroke, organ donor saved 4 lives 20h ago

I feel him in the rays of light as they wash over me in my front room.

Sometimes I ask him to let me know he's okay by having his photo come up on the digital frame we have but I've stacked the deck for myself there lol. 95% are now of him. I love seeing his smile, seeing him happy, and full of life. I'm also trying to cover the bad hospital memories with the good ones. It helps.

The morning of my husband's funeral, I was questioning my decision to ride my motorcycle behind the hearse... I was wondering if I'd be steady enough. We had a secret song that was ours (When You Say Nothing At All) because when he proposed he said nothing -- he just looked at me with a ring in his hand and couldn't talk, but it was all in his eyes.

In the middle of a soft rock playlist, that song came on while I was getting dressed. I knew it was him and it made me smile. I said hi babe, the answer is still yes... and yes I'll take one last ride with you. Our oldest daughter and son-in-law rode his trike behind me and afterward, they both said they wondered how I could ride so steady. I said because your dad was riding with me.

My husband passed away 14 years ago, but our son who is now 23 and I had an opportunity to do something fun that we thought he would have really loved with a little bit of his cremains recently. On the trip home, we were stuck in traffic behind the tour bus of the marching band from his college. He was the drum major when he went there so many years ago and the college is hours away from where we were, where we were traveling and where we headed. We decided for SURE he was letting us know he approved of our little -you know what we should do this weekend- adventure.

I had a flurry of them around 18 mos after, but there were two that stood out. He had given me a necklace shortly after we were married and it had been lost for decades at the time of his death. One night while making the bed, I glanced up and saw a jeweler's box on top of my jewelry box. I walked over to it in disbelief, knowing what it must be. Indeed, it was the long lost necklace. I had had a long day and just sat on the bed holding it and cried.

The other sign was...well, you'd have to know that when there was a noise in the house at night or our old dog on the bed with us started to stir and want down, my husband would reach for a small flashlight he kept by his alarm clock on the headboard. I never did this. After he passed, I put his flashlight in a little nightstand by me with a flimsy drawer. One night I had been going through an especially hard time and dropped my phone between the bed and the wall. As I was struggling to feel for it, the flashlight in that flimsy drawer came on! I kid you not. It was unmistakably him.

They are amazing signs i also have a pet and I sense when he sees him he stares into space and follows with his eyes

My husband was a beekeeper so whenever a bee flies close to me, I know it's him. Also, bees poop on my car a lot so I know that that's him, too. 😃

My wife gives me signs through blue butterflies. When I started thinking of dating again, I was sitting in my shop waiting for a woman to call me, wondering if I was doing the right thing. At that moment, a blue butterfly flew into me shop and landed beside me on the workbench. The chances of that exact thing happening at that exact moment is probably exponentially infinitely impossible. It was her telling me it was ok.
