Am I weak?
Today is day 6 after my surgical wisdom tooth extraction, and I feel like the pain just isn’t getting any better. Yesterday, I cried through lunch because of how much it hurt (I only had some lukewarm soup). Painkillers aren’t helping at all. I can’t do anything, I can’t concentrate. I’m so fed up with this. I’m also a little disappointed in myself because I thought I’d be able to handle the pain much better.
My dentist told me that the worst pain would be on days 2–3 and that it should get better after that, but honestly, I feel like it’s even worse now, or at least the pain has completely plateaued. When is this finally going to get better?

I too, am weak. I’m on day 11 and here’s my experience:
Day 1: no pain
Day 2-3: literally crying with pain - one day off work
Day 4-7: no pain, just can’t open my mouth
Day 8+ the pain is back. I am sick of soup I want to open my mouth and I’m so sick of this pain.
But yes, if you are still on antibiotics, great. If you were not prescribed them, go talk to your dentist

Hiii I just had one out and also in serious pain! It went like this:
Day 1- worst pain ever
Day 2-3 - no pain at all
Day 4-6 - intense pain
Day 7 (today)- pain eased slightly
I had my recheck on day 5 and got the syringe to clean and also checked for dry socket and infection since the pain came back. For context I had a complex extraction with extreme bruising and he broke it in half in my mouth. Roots were curled under my other tooth.
No dry socket and no infection and finishing my antibiotics tomorrow! It could just be that the extraction was very complex- my dentist said my pain was very normal considering the extraction. I’ve also been crying about it and feeling hopeless - but I’m hoping by day 9 it’ll be okay.

It's best you need to see that dentist again.
