Question Scheduling Conflict
Do you guys think I can join as a double degree? Or will it be too busy with my schedule?

Not sure because they never said how often the meetings are

Hi! I'm a Timber, the VP of Outreach at the Wilfrid* Laurier Furries. Do not quote me on this but what I have heard from the president is that we (may) be having meetings on a rotating schedule. Our first meeting will be on Tuesday, September 22nd @ 2:30-3:50PM EST. Our second meeting should be on a Thursday. October 1st. It should be a fixed-rotating schedule, and I hope it is.
I too have a schedule that does not completely work with the club as a VP, and I am currently trying to work things out. If you have any other questions, feel free to join the Discord server and ping me. (@timberr.)

Laurier’s a pretty inclusive place, but you’re definitely going to get judged if you don’t figure out how to spell the name of the school correctly.

Timberr you spelled the school name wrong I'm firing you /j

I went to another school that was spelled as Wilfred before, so its something I have to make a conscious effort towards whenever typing our school name. As well auto correct. p.s. You spelled my name wrong </3

Depends on your time management skills if you have to think about it

True, I don't have the best time management skills I'm pretty busy but I think its important to balance our schedule with things we enjoy, such as self expression with like minded individuals. But I'm having trouble because I don't want to have fun at the expense of my grades

This is such a huge time commitment since you are double degree. To fully commit you would have to drop double degree. I would suggest you drop BBA to make the time for this.

No way you’re recommending someone drop one of their degrees to pursue the furry club 😭😭

Oh wow. Are you speaking from expierence? Did you do this with a double degree as well?

Yep! I ended up dropping BBA to make room for more important clubs in my schedule, CS major now :3

Hello OP, president here, please join our club! Our events will be hosted at varying dates and times over the terms and this meet was actually rescheduled to 2:30-3:50 due to room booking issues!

If everyone in the world was the same, it would be boring. I’m glad it exists

can you focus on three things instead of two?

u/Creepy_Equal_8054 28d ago
I think honestly what would be best for me is to try and see if I can focus on three things instead of two. Maybe if it is too difficult I can drop one degree?

I have full confidence if you got into Double Degree you can do this too. I feel like I’m dumb but I manage to all the school responsibilities on top of working in marketing, and all of the clubs I’m in.

Thank you 😊 So important to have confidence in ourselves even when challenging

Someone explain to me why furry culture is a thing... I saw my first one in Hamilton and thought it was a costume until someone explained it to me. Is it a sex thing?

It's not a sex thing. It can be, I suppose. It's like cosplay. Most furries don't own a fursuit, they just like anthropromorphic animals (as in find them cool/interesting). It's also just a fun community to be in with fun people. It's like any social club or hobby.

Its totally doable to do clubs regardless of course load. Always consider just joining the discord and heading to events when you can be free to do them
