For reference, the video I found this on is a 26-second short and is 3.4 MB at 1080p 60fps, this is almost double that 😭
RIP all mobile data users

I got recommended this 21 year old video and it seemed to be kinda like an ARG, can anyone help me find out if it is or not?

Im not here to criticize or be negative about Art content creators but evey time I open YT, I always get bombarted by vids that has explicit content, goon-bait htumbnail and straight up corn promoting channels. Always the same slop, but these kinds of vids and animation in general are getting views like crazy.
I guess being an animation style Youtuber is an easy way of making money...

Listen, I'm not this stickler for toilet humor or whatever, I can laugh at a fart joke. But this shit is just nasty. I do not want to hear you burping into my headphones in the middle of a video.
Mind you, this isn't even a problem exclusive to a specific community. I've heard it in commentary channel videos, gaming content, MMA content (UFC specifically), etc. And it's almost always from people in their early 20s or there about like 19. I'm 25, but when did this shit become funny or quirky to do?
I won't name specific channels, but it's genuinely gross. I was watching this one guy talk about possible UFC matchups and two times throughout the video he says, "I'm not gonna edit that out", like why? Is someone supposed to laugh at that? Supposed to think, "Haha this guy is so quirky LMAO". Like no, dude, you're just nasty. Made me unsub since he did it every video.

I find this funny tbh. Everytime I got copyrighted music on a stream. I get blocked in Russia. Anyone got the same problem?

Censored out the username so I don't get smited for witch hunting
They used to make real animations, but as soon as Opus 5.5 dropped, they started mass producing these AI animations with the signature Claude font and all suspiciously made with threejs, not the first choice for any animator or 3D modeler.
It appears as if they also filtered out the word "AI" on the comment sections, so they can't get accused of being AI made. One of their newer videos seems to be switching away from threejs, though it's a mystery why in one of the videos, a donut has a cheese pull.

These are the most desperate YouTube ads. Not only are they advertising themselves on their own platform, but it’s something you would need to pay money for.

First, they enforce YouTube Kids on the main app, and turn off comments and saves on old cartoons, to "protect the kids". However, they still blast the videos that they forcefully made to be for kids full of ads.
They wanna protect kids from the big scary comment section, but have no problem wasting their time with ads. Make it make sense.

On desktop, it doesnt fill the screen anymore, theater mode is default off, so you have to manually toggle it on on every video. Also half the screen on "normal" is the comment section. Stupid update

Nobody doesn't care about these. All we want is to watch are video. Yea there is a skip button but we just want to watch a video instead of these stupid surveys.

I understand that add experience is largely personalized but I can't be the only one bombarded with scam.
From financial grifts to church calls and donation asks, crypto and one time opportunities it is becoming ridiculous.
All videogame add I receive are exclusively AI, also all those AI movie makers and "creative writings" slop but I don't even use any AI except what google throws up when I search something.
All of it is scam or scam adjacent it has became ridiculous.
the last 20% are normal: hygiene, groceries, ultra process foods and politics slop.

I wanted to watch a random video and I got hit by this ? What happened ?
I hate this so much, it’s so impractical why doing this? The normal layout is so much better.
Please tell me that there’s a way to put it back to normal.

What is the point of this, what advantages does YouTube get for making the skip button even smaller?

Why do videos have this ugly bordering around them? Seriously, why is someone collecting a check for this nonsense when there are much bigger things they could prioritize for the platform? No one needed this. It was perfectly fine before.
