DISCUSSION What do y’all think about the new John 5 Ghost Telecaster?
I’ve seen many people talking down on it because of Fenders current shenanigans. And others saying that its mostly paying for the brand name and that the prices its not worth it because its made in Indonesia.
That there are better choices for the price, also not even a cheap gig bag included.
So my question is. What is a cool looking tele that you guys would recommend that would be suited for playing metal but also have the versatility to get some decent clean tones out of it.
Me personally after not being able to buy the first run of the US made i was disappointed. But this one i think looks just as awesome and from some of the reviews I have seen it sounds good too. Give that most of those ppl are using expensive equipment….

GEAR NGD: My dream guitar arrived today. 1/1 Custom "Wild Wolf" from AstroVibe Guitar Co.
galleryI want to give an enthusiastic shoutout to Matt Belue of AstroVibe Guitar Co. for building the guitar of my dreams!
I first saw this guitar, the Wild Wolf, posted just over a week ago and immediately fell in love. Now that I have it in my hands, I can honestly say it exceeds all of my hopes and expectations.
I've got a lot of practicing to do before my playing can do this incredible instrument justice, but I'm going to enjoy every minute of it.

PLAY best thing I’ve seen this month
came across this guy on my fyp and he’s honestly soo good I wanted to share it with more people!
At 11 y/o Jonathan Pellegrín Fonseca suffered severe injuries as a result of a dynamite explosion. Since then, music has become a refuge for him and he has taught himself on his own way how to create and play his own beats.

DISCUSSION Madrone Burl on Sapele.
Anyone else worked with madrone burl before? Just started building top coats. I dropped a rag going to take the pic those smears at the bottom will be handled lol. No tints or stain, just gonna go tru oil, buff repeat til the grain is full. Isn't perfect. Don't care. Will have a very nice waxed satin luster in the end 🔥
The detail in this burl is absurd 🤯🤌 it's like fractal alligator skin
I had more than one pic but derped up the post lmao

PLAY Rhiannon - fleetwood mac guitar loop. Turns out lead guitar is just chords.
Really happy with my playing and understanding of the pentatonic scale recently. I feel like I was stuck on just knowing the scale up until a month or so ago. Playing it, but constantly playing the same riffs. Cool ones, but nothing new.
Then I saw a few videos on how good lead is just rhythm. Didn't take long for that to click, ever since then i've found playing 'lead' a lot easier. I feel more connected with intervals, like my fingers are getting closer to the sound in my head.
I like to challenge myself to play the vocals from songs. Its so easy for me to slip away from the actual melody (as you can hear) but i try and use the vocals as guard rails to force me to learn/explore as opposed to playing what feels comfortable (too guitary).

DISCUSSION Flying V owners, why did you choose it?
My birthday is in a few months. I'm a relative beginner who played casually for years and I'm currently taking lessons and trying to actually improve. I always really liked the Flying V shape, but heard people say it's impractical and not a good idea, especially for beginners. So I would like to hear what the actual owners of Vs think about it and how real these concerns are, is it a bad idea for beginners to have a somewhat exotic shape?
I currently have a Tele that I love, and I'm not getting rid of it ever, but I have my eyes on a jackson king v for my birthday. Would you guys share some stories about yours with me? Doesn't need to be about Jacksons specifically, any V shape story is appreciated!

QUESTION What tuning is this?
I recently started playing guitar a few months ago and messed around with some tuning. Since then I’ve made this one that I like and made a few songs with. However I was wondering if this is even a real tuning and if so, what would it be called? I’d like to know so I don’t have to use this app anymore…

GEAR Behold the invisible guitar.
gallerySwipe to "reveal".
Charvel DK22 SSS 2PT CM with a mahogany body and walnut top.
Gotoh 510 2-point trem and Charvel locking tuners.
Caramelized maple neck, satin finish with rolled fingerboard edges. One of the most comfortable necks I've ever played. Shredder's heel/AANJ is perfectly contoured for upper fret access.
Pickup configuration is pretty ingenious. SSS in routing/name, but technically HSS. There's a single coil sized rail humbucker in the bridge and the neck pickup is reverse-wound/reverse-polarity (RWRP) so 4 out of 5 positions (with the exception of the neck pickup by itself) cancel out the 60 cycle hum. Position 3 is the neck and outer coil of the bridge for a telecaster tone. The pickups are relatively hot, especially the bridge humbucker.
In all honesty I prefer the feel of the DK24 over the DK22. Everything is shifted to the left to accommodate the 2 extra frets so the neck sticks out slightly further from the body. More comfortable for me because I have longer arms. The DK22 is still a great guitar, fun to play and everything is proportional to the traditional strat- except the bridge pickup is angled the opposite way which rolls off the harsh highs and tightens the bass frequency response. Gives more of a Jimi Hendrix tone as he played his right-handed strat upside-down. You still get the strat quack in the 2 and 4 positions. Feels/plays great and is very versatile. I highly recommend this guitar for strat lovers.
