Cover My Cover of Ghosts!
Happy Michael-Ween (Part 3!!) everyone! For this third week of October I present my cover of Ghosts, one of my top favorite songs of his ever :) The music video, the BOTDF album, all of it was always my favorite before just barely being surpassed by HIStory. I had so much fun remaking one of my favorite songs of all time, and I hope you all enjoy it as much as I did ❤️❤️ Thank you all for all the love and support, it really means so much to hear all the kind things you guys say about my covers, anything to honor our king of pop 🧡 See yall next week ;) 🩸🪩

Discussion What do you think about Smooth Criminal music video "short version"?
https://youtu.be/sFvENQBc-F8?si=ywSHsJP1GKihnKQM
Doesn't get talked about a lot. Its interesting and completely different. Also uses more footage from other parts of Moonwalker. I don't really like the low framerate footage.

TIL Michael Jackson was performing in Seoul in 1996 when a fan climbed up a crane to reach him. MJ held onto the fan securely to prevent him from falling, all while continuing his performance

Discussion What are some Michael Jackson songs on specific albums that you feel could’ve, or even SHOULD’VE been on other albums?
To specify, I don’t mean niche gems that you think should have more traction or songs that didn’t make the cut that you think should’ve made it. I specifically mean songs that were on an album, that you think would fit well on another album. For example, if I thought that Billie Jean from thriller would fit on invincible for whatever reason (just as an example).
Mine would probably be Why You Wanna Trip On Me from Dangerous. I think it’d fit pretty nicely on HIStory.

Question Quelqu'un possède ce calendrier ?
Merci 😊

Question Michael’s Age
During the early Motown era ( ‘69-‘74) To the public, when did we figured out Micheal’s true age? I know that Motown publicly shaved either one or two years off his actual age. Because I know by the end of the 1974, he started to use his real age and do we know why Motown allowed him to use his actual age?

Discussion Best Michael Jackson documentary for a 9 year old?
My young cousin is really into Michael Jackson. She's a big fan of the biopic and the CDs but she has a lot of interest is discussing his real history. I know there are tons of MJ docs and I'd like to show her a good one, but preferably one that has a lot of good archive footage and is quite upbeat rather than one that is mostly talking heads or is more of an exploitative tabloid expose type thing like that Martin Bashir thing. Not because the kid can't handle the subject matter, but because I want to give her something that she will enjoy and want to rewatch.
I don't need it to avoid the controversies completely because of course she knows, but she doesn't need to hear all about the court dramas and the drugs and etc. Something appropriate for a 9 year old that focuses on the music. Cheers

Discussion How much of an impact has Michael Jackson had on your life?
For me, it’s because Michael Jackson was the only artist my dad listened to every Sunday.
He would clean his car with Michael Jackson songs playing, or clean the entire house with his music blasting through the living room.
I still remember him playing One Day in Your Life during the car ride home while I fell asleep.
That’s why, every time I listen to that song, I cry so hard. Because I miss my dad, and I never had the courage to tell him how much I missed him. I never even got the chance to ask him why he loved Michael Jackson so much that he collected all his CDs and even owned a book about him.
So when I heard that Michael Jackson had passed away, I cried and spent the entire day watching his funeral memorial news.

Discussion What is your favourite Jackson 5 Era?
Diana Ross Presents The Jackson 5 Era (DRPTHJ5 & ABC & Third Album) This Era lasted from 1969 to early 1970, everything was great, Michael still had his soprano, Jackie wasn’t an old man, Marlon was singing into the air without a microphone stand, Jermaine sounded like he smoked 4 packs a day, and Randy was still at home. Maybe Tomorrow (MT) This was when Michael’s voice started to slowly change, if you watch performances of “I Want You Back” he loses the ability to wail like he used to, Marlon stopped singing into the air, Jermaine becomes a heartthrob, and Jackie should’ve gotten a 9 to 5. Looking Through The Windows/ Skywriter Era (LTTW & SW), Michael turned 14 during this era and everything fell apart, a few weeks after his 14th birthday he can still sing like he always has, but there is this husk at the end, by late 1972/ early 1973, Michael starts to sound raspy and constipated when he sings the older Jackson 5 material, this era would also be the abrupt end of the Jackson 5’s honeymoon phase and promotion would start to dip for songs because the group would be on their 3 year world tour, Jackie should’ve just started working at Mc Donalds, Jermaine had fangirls screaming all over him, Randy was kept at the back of the stadium and couldn’t see anything, Marlon was just being Marlon. Get It Together/ Dancing Machine Era ( G.I.T/ D.M) This era was when things started to get better, but due to lack of promotion, the albums weren’t selling as high, Dancing Machine was a good song but was overplayed and milked, Michael starts to sing in tenor and switches between tenor and falsetto, and by the end of 1974 he starts to sound like the Michael we all love. Jermaine was married , Jackie was lonely, Marlon was growing a moustache, Tito was also married, and Randy was just slapping them congas like nobodies business. Moving Violation Era (MV) This era was short lived due to the group switching from Motown to Epic, Jermaine leaving the group, and lack of promotion and television performances, it’s really a shame because the album has a lot of good songs and costume. Michael‘s voice was starting to settle, Marlon sounded like Jermaine, Jackie was just there, Randy started to do more dancing with the group.

Question Anyone has info about where these 2 audience recordings came from? (Milan 1997)
Hello, I am wondering if anyone knows where both of these sources came from or at least if anyone had higher quality versions of them. I know MJLARV has both of them on his video but I would want to have both of them without the watermark and without any modifications. If anyone is willing to share, please DM me. Also, I am only looking for the Billie Jean performance I don't need the full thing.
