Cheering for the destruction of an historical monument
For context, i'm french, and there are currently many protests in France due to a convergence of student complaints and the crisis of increased living costs.
-THIS IS NOT THE SUBJECT OF THIS RANT. THIS IS AN IMPORTANT DISTINCTION.-
What i loathe is this ; today during the protest/riot (because as it turns out, sometimes the difference isn't really clear) some masked "students" decided they wanted to be even worse than usual and so organized a raid on the city hall of Limoges.
They broke a few windows to get in, and started fires with molotovs at many different places as to spread the fire and make it impossible for the already overworked and outnumbered firefighters to fight back. And since it was quite an old building (1883), it burned quickly and was officially destroyed in the evening.
I don't want to get into the political stuff, and i hope i don't have to explain how awful the arsonists are... What i really want to talk about is how some people watched the whole thing happen and cheered, yes, CHEERED for it, for the destruction of a historical monument.
There is not a single scenario where i can imagine myself laughing, applauding, or anything like that when destroying something so important...
Even if those people did not start the fire themselves, they are in my opinion just as bad because they are enabling such an act instead of righfully being horrified. It's just insane...
=> Oh and before someone wants to bring up the french Revolution or any other out-of-place example : France has no money left for anything, education was and still is completely free (for now), and we are one of if not the country with the most social help. So not only is it incredibly ingrate, not only is it increasing the cost of repairs on an already dying economy, but it is also and most importantly completely counterproductive because it will justify repressing the movement in its entirety

miscellaneous Actors that harm themselves for a role in a movie that nobody ends up caring about
Fury (2014) Shia LaBeouf pulled his own tooth out with a pair of pliers after failing to find a dentist that would do it, thinking it would give his character texture.
Chapter 27 (2007) Jared Leto gained 67 pounds to play Mark David Chapman by drinking microwaved pints of Häagen-Dazs ice cream mixed with olive oil and soy sauce. The rapid weight gain gave him gout and forced him to use a wheelchair due to the pain.
All Things Fall (2011) - 50 Cent lost over 50 pounds for his role as a college football player diagnosed with cancer through a liquid diet and running on a treadmill for three hours a day over nine weeks.

Pup Stilts
Little sneak peek of the new mod I’m working on.
I might post a video later today. The full mod release might take longer because of the difficulty of this one.
It’s difficult because the pups have to balance on both stilts while walking and turning, especially on hills.

POLICY BREAKING: President Trump Signs An Executive Order Waiving Every Operative Russia Sanctions Provision In The Graham Act Before New Penalties Take Effect, Drawing Republican Backlash And Condemnation From Zelenskyy As The Administration Pursues Russian Diesel Deal 🏛️
President Donald Trump signed an executive order Friday waiving every operative section of the Graham Act pertaining to Russia, preventing a sweeping package of sanctions and tariffs from taking effect October 18. Trump signed the legislation last month after it passed Congress by large margins, including an 86–11 Senate vote. Named after the late Sen. Lindsey Graham, who died in July and had pushed for its passage, the law targeted Russian officials, oligarchs, financial institutions, and the shadow fleet used to evade sanctions. The law gives the president waiver authority, which Trump invoked on national interest grounds without providing additional details in the order.
The decision blocks requirements for tariffs of up to 500% on Russian goods, including oil and gas, and tariffs of up to 100% on major foreign buyers of Russian energy and countries helping Russia evade oil sanctions. It also waives sanctions requirements involving foreign banks doing significant business with Russian state-owned banks, along with restrictions on Russian sovereign debt, U.S. investment in Russia, and certain financial transfers benefiting the Russian government or its officials. Existing sanctions imposed through earlier executive orders remain in place.
However, Trump also waived the provision requiring those sanctions to remain, clearing the way for him to alter them unilaterally. The new waivers have no fixed end date, remaining in place until the president or secretary of state determines further action is warranted under the order’s consultation process.
The move follows a Treasury authorization allowing Russian diesel sales, deliveries, and imports into the United States through April, part of a deal intended to bring hundreds of thousands of tons of diesel to U.S. and global markets as prices rise. Without the waiver, the Graham Act would have required tariffs on Russian petroleum products and sanctions on ships carrying them. Republican senators including Mitch McConnell, Thom Tillis, Susan Collins, and John Cornyn had urged Trump to abandon the diesel deal and implement the sanctions. Tillis called the waiver “beyond irresponsible,” while Cornyn said Graham “would be appalled.” Republican Rep. Thomas Massie welcomed the decision, arguing that Trump used authority Congress itself had granted him.
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said the decision helps Russia and encourages Putin to continue the war. “It only fuels their satisfaction and their desire to keep killing people,” he wrote, thanking lawmakers from both parties who supported the legislation. The White House defended the waivers as necessary to preserve negotiations, saying immediate enforcement would impede efforts to reach a durable peace agreement and that Trump could exercise the sanctions authorities later. The disagreement now centers on whether withholding those penalties creates room for diplomacy or gives Russia economic relief without requiring it to stop fighting.
