I’m really frustrated and indignant about how Tappei sometimes treats us like we’re a bunch of dumb readers. Like, you can’t just make Subaru extremely observant whenever you want and then make him extremely oblivious at other times just to move the plot forward. Like, Tappei, show us some respect

Like, you’re telling me that Subaru, after literally hearing Priscilla talk about Subaru’s and Al’s Authorities before she vanished, and after noticing all the obvious hints about Al (his name, how the hell he survived Gladiator Island despite being from Earth, and the fact that he literally saw Al use his Domain in Chaosflame to “predict” Olbart’s attacks), didn’t even become suspicious of him? But then, out of nowhere, after arc 9, he suddenly knows that Aldebaran can use rbd too? Just because Al sealed Subaru? Like, come on, Tappei

So, my question is: how did Subaru figure out that Al has an authority similar to rbd after arc O?

Finally caught up with the English releases. vol 30 and short story 6 preordered too. Was feeling pretty good about being up to date until I looked at the Japanese backlog 🥲. Think I’ve accidentally made a lifelong commitment at this point

To sum it up, as far as I know, I'm the only one in my friend group who actually likes Re:Zero I've genuinely tried to convince them to give it a watch, but some of the responses I've gotten are things like "I feel like it's a generic anime," "What's the plot about?", or "It feels too cliché," along with other reasons that some of them haven't really bothered to explain to me. Honestly, though, I don't really understand it from my point of view.

I mean, when it comes to being "generic," I feel like other anime such as Jujutsu Kaisen, MHA, or even MT can be somewhat more... generic, and the same goes for One Piece and others. I honestly feel like it might have something to do with the isekai aspect, and perhaps Subaru's bad reputation for a few years, when people used to see him as a terrible person or just a crybaby. But I genuinely have no idea what I could do to convince them to give the series a chance.

I'm not even sure if it has something to do with the gore, but honestly, calling Re:Zero a "generic" anime feels pretty misguided to me.

His encounters with the thieves in the first episode, his confrontation with Felt in the 2nd episode, along with the opening scene of the first episode of season 3 very much proves it. It's just that he is surrounded by people who are basically Goku.

So when I finish season 3 of Rezero should I watch season four or read arc 6 in the web novel because I heard the web novel is really good but I also like the anime so I’m just stuck on what to choose and either way I’m going to read the webnovel after s4 so yeah
