Hi everyone, our nine year old daughter is currently struggling with severe eczema. We brought her to the Women's and Children's Hospital today and were told to find a GP with expertise in skin conditions.
Would anyone have any ideas please?
We live in Mile End but don't mind travelling.
Thank you.

I’m not sure if this is the perfect sub for this question but I don’t know where else I could post.
I’m in Adelaide, 19, and just got a job offer at a pub. The title is “junior bar attendant” but I’ll serving drinks, clearing/setting tables, serving food, etc. They just sent me a contract to sign that states my pay rate would be $23.02 an hour. I know that I’m a junior, but I thought that under the Hospitality Industry (General) Award (MA000009) juniors get full adult pay if they serve alcohol as part of their job, which I’ll be doing. I’ve also been hired as a casual worker which gives a 25% increase too.
Here’s the exact details that they listed in the contract:
Name of Employee : _________
Name of Employer : _________
Commencement : 17 October 2026
Classification : Level 2
Position: Junior Bar Attendant
Pay Rate : $23.02 per hour
Status : Casual
I put these details into Fair Work Ombudsman pay calculator and it says that I am entitled to $33.85 an hour.
Im not sure if I’m misunderstanding something or not eligible for the things I thought I was but I am just confused. I really don’t want to piss off my new boss by asking about this, I know I’m young but I don’t want to get paid less than what I’m entitled to. Do I just sign it?

I have this clothes drying rack that’s broken. It still stands up, but it’s too damaged to use. I don’t want to call the council just for this one item. Is there a place I can just drop it off?

hello! i am a 19 year old student struggling with adhd. i was diagnosed at 15 and was on vyvanse for 3 years but had to go cold turkey as it negatively impacted my physical health and i could no longer sleep. since starting my degree (which ironically is regarded as one of the most difficult degrees taught at my uni) i’ve been struggling a lot academically. i’ve found myself to have horrific executive dysfunction, i struggle to retain information which has lead to me barely passing my courses/tests/exams. on top of all of this, i have been in burnout for a few months which has been a lot to deal with as i also have ocd, pmdd and generalised anxiety.
it is very clear i need medication again. i have had discussions with my regular gp about concerta/ritalin or a non-stimulant option, but unfortunately she is only authorised to prescribe me vyvanse and cannot gain authority unless i see a psychiatrist, which is unlikely as most of them have closed their books.
i was wondering if there are any gps in adelaide who have completed the specialised adhd medication training that i’d be able to see? i’m not fussed about location as i am extremely desperate (exam season + second year approaching). tysm!

To put it simply, abortion is regulated in Australia.
The arguments that are raised by anti-abortionists are generally bad faith, and the simple fact is that in the US they have abortion bans. Texas is one of the most extreme red states and has had a full ban for a year now, and pregnancy related deaths for both children and women have increased.
The simple fact is that anti-abortion is about control of women.
I gave these young men some of my thoughts today. maybe it will end up online somewhere if they can bleep it enough.
Anti-abortionists are often single issue voters, trump rode to power on their backs, and pauline wants to do similar.
If you want to see supermarket lettuce that gives explosive diarrhea, a comeback for measles and polio, and the military out in the street, then we should let anti-abortionists, christofascists and nazis become normalised and give them the time and respect they ask for.
I prefer to tell these shits that they are not welcome here.

Cheap fuel has caused chaos on Adelaide streets with an almost kilometre-long line of vehicles seeking relief at the pump. Billionaire Adrian Portelli’s newly opened station at Edwarstown is slinging fuel for 99c a litre with the internet personality describing it “God’s work” despite the frustrations of nearby businesses.
Vehicles queued up along Daws Rd banked up to Carramarra Ave as motorists clamoured to take advantage of the Saturday-only deal. Traffic controllers set up cones around the entrance of the station and signs warning other motorists to slow down and avoid the queue in an attempt to control the chaos.
Portelli announced on Friday unleaded petrol would be slashed for Saturday. “We are doing God’s work over in Adelaide, because all the neighbouring petrol stations in South Australia have dropped their prices and are trying to compete with LMCT+,” he said. “So I thought, seeing as we’re all trying to give back to the community, let’s go one step further (on Saturday) – 91 unleaded, let’s do it for 99c.

Unfortunate discovery I made and just thought this was interesting. Image source is: Jill Matthews Collection, Australian Queer Archives via State Library SA. The black and white image of him for comparison is from 1972 at the inquest into the death of Dr George Duncan.

Hey everyone,
I’m currently working full-time as a chef, 5 days a week, in a kitchen in Adelaide.
I’ve been wanting to take my cooking skills to the next level, especially when it comes to fine dining, modern cooking techniques, presentation and plating.
I’m not looking to leave my current job. I’m genuinely passionate about cooking and would love the opportunity to spend some time in a fine dining or high-end restaurant kitchen, learning from experienced chefs.
I’m more than happy to come in on my days off, help with prep, do basic kitchen tasks, or assist wherever needed. I’m not looking for payment — I’m simply looking for an opportunity to learn, gain experience and improve as a chef.
I understand how busy professional kitchens can be,
If any chefs or restaurant owners in Adelaide would be open to something like this, I’d really appreciate the opportunity.
Thanks everyone!

Up to 2000 defects are being examined on the recently built overpasses at Plympton and Morphettville with up to 20 per cent of the project’s 10,000 base plates requiring repair.
As a result, the tram line will need to close for repairs, which will likely occur during a pre-scheduled maintenance closure or overnight.
The Advertiser understands the defects were flagged during routine inspections and that the repairs won’t take place until next year at the earliest.
The repairs are expected to take up to a week to be completed.
While the defects don’t pose any risks for commuters, they could impact the line’s future maintenance.
Department for Infrastructure and Transport chief executive Jon Whelan said the repairs would be completed at no cost to taxpayers.

A woman has been arrested following a series of dangerous driving incidents across Adelaide’s north-eastern suburbs overnight.
Just after midnight on Sunday 18 October, police received reports that a grey Toyota RAV4 had collided with a vehicle on Montague Road, Ingle Farm before allegedly leaving the scene.
A short time later, the same vehicle was allegedly involved in three hit-run crashes on North East Road at Hillcrest, Sudholz Road at Gilles Plains and Cassie Street at Collinswood.
The vehicle was last seen by a member of the public being driven dangerously and on the wrong side of the road towards the city at Medindie.
About 12.20am, police were called to Mann Road at North Adelaide following reports of a head-on collision between the Toyota RAV4 and a green Mini.
Patrols quickly arrived and located the driver of the Toyota. It will be alleged the woman punched a police officer numerous times and bit another officer on the finger as she was being arrested. The police officers involved were not seriously injured.
The driver of the Mini, a 55-year-old woman from Mawson Lakes, was taken to hospital for treatment of injuries sustained in the crash. Her injuries are not considered life-threatening.
The 32-year-old Pooraka woman is expected to be charged with several offences, including three counts of driving without due care, three counts of speed dangerous, two counts of failing to stop at a crash scene, and aggravated assault of a prescribed emergency worker (police officer) when she is medically fit: https://www.police.sa.gov.au/sa-police-news-assets/front-page-news/woman-arrested-after-hit-run-crashes-and-assaulting-police

Hi everyone! Not sure if anyone has had much experience with Asian supermarkets around Adelaide and could offer suggestions? I am trying to find chicken Raman from Japan it is by the company Nissin. If anyone’s seen it or might be able to suggest places that stock a good variety I am thankful and open to all suggestions! Unfortunately not many have websites and the places we have tried haven’t stocked them.

That’s it for takeaway coffees for me, I’m afraid. You can call it a cost of living increase all you want, but the nature of the life being lived has to be reflected in the price, too. $8.00 justifies a seat and a nice ambiance or at least a newspaper.

A decision to ban a health care worker who abused "vulnerable" clients has been upheld by the South Australian Civil and Administrative Tribunal (SACAT).
Adrian Fabio Mangini had asked for a review after the Community Services Complaints Commissioner banned him from practising indefinitely.
Mr Mangini has filed an appeal against SACAT's decision in South Australia's Supreme Court.

So I'm 38 and lost my dad to cancer in 2020, and I have no other male role model figures in my life and most of my friends are tied up with their new families.
I'd like to find a "men's shed" kind of club or whatever with a workshop where I can go for a chat, learn about tools, learn how to fix my old electronics myself, maybe have a beer and make some friends.
In my head I'm imagining the guys from King of the Hill, and I guess a few Hanks, Boomhauers, even Dales and Bills would be great.
Sure I could watch YouTube tutorials but I can't afford to buy tools as I'm in pretty sever financial hardship, and videos don't cure being lonely. I need some camaraderie in my life atm because things are really bleak and dark thoughts are increasing
Does anything like this exist in the eastern suburbs? Emphasis on fixing and tinkering with electronics, especially audio.
I'm in Kensington Park.
I'd prefer to avoid religious groups as that's just not my thing, unless they keep it secular in the workshop.
