Monetization Do you think this guy fucked up by touching Android?

Post image

I see these type of reviews all the time with Android apps and games. This is a $25/year educational app. The good thing this guy did was to make the iOS version first, then a minimal effort Android version.

My favorite review is the last one: "I don't want to pay money for a app." He could have just uninstalled the app, but the guy is so mean that he tries to screw the app just because he's didn't get it for free.

Of course Google wants developers to subsidize them by making free apps and games, so they never remove such reviews.

The Android userbase is human excreta. The freeloaders will absolutely ruin you if they can't get what they want for free.

The supa news is Google dumps your home address online. So one of these psychos can do more damage than just leave a bad review if they can't get what they want for free. People get swatted or shot for much less. They can send contraband to your address and then call the cops if they don't like the tone of your reply or your race. Have you seen what goes on in X and 4chan?

Death threats against game developers are not unusual. Developers at Naughty Dog, CD Projekt Red, Bungie, Treyarch, and other studios all got them. But, unlike Google, these companies did not publish their developers' home addresses, so the damage was limited.

Android people have even started to downvote this post.

Google's solutions is to put someone on Reddit to pretend to help developers: u/GooglePlayDevSupport. Only shit companies ignore customers on their own platform and only spew copypasta on Reddit when someone complains hard enough.

Marketing My Install to trial conversion rate is 5%. How can I improve?

• Upvotes

Like the title say my install to trial conversion rate is 5%. How can I improve it?

On the other hand, with a hard paywall I am still loosing the other 95% people who installed my app. Should I offer them a free plan to keep so I don’t loose them?

I'm a food safety professional, not a game studio. Two days ago I put my NYC hot dog cart game online.

My favorite part so far is watching people get a C grade from the health inspector for touching cash and then the bun 😅

Looking for a bussiness trade

Hey everyone!

I’m looking to collaborate with creators, indie developers, or entrepreneurs. No money involved at all - just helping each other grow! For example, we could give each other a shoutout in a YouTube video, mention each other’s projects in a Reddit post, or share each other's work with our communities.

If you have a project, YouTube channel, or app in a similar space (fitness, motivation, self-improvement, productivity) and want to support each other's growth for free, send me a DM or leave a comment below!

[ feel free to ask anything ]

in the comments i dropped a super short description about my app like this you can see if your developing a similar app or project.

Growth Earned my first $

I just earned my first $!!!
I won’t bore you with some AI written bullshit learning because there is none.
Don’t get me wrong.
I’ve build apps before. I’m a professional iOS Dev for over 4 years now, freelancing for a year.
This isn’t the first app I published and it wasn’t the first paywall I build or the first purchase made within an app I developed.
But this time is the first time it is 100% mine and somehow that makes me happier than I imagined.
I wanted to share this because even though it’s not a lot of money this somehow means a lot to me and I think it did or will for you.

So happy coding you all and wishing you and me a lot of success 😂

Marketing How do campaigns work in AppStoreConnect?

I was thinking about starting to market my recently launched app and thought about hiring some influencers here and there to post some content.
ASC has this campaign feature where you can track different performances for different campaigns and I was wondering if it provides the option to track how well different campaigns convert to paying users or just how many links got clicked and how many downloads it made.

Did anyone use it so far and can share some experiences?

I asked Claude to make a video for my SaaS. This is what it gave me. What do you think?

I build PricePush, a tool that sets per-country prices for App Store and Google Play apps. I asked Claude Code for a short TikTok style video about it, and this is the result.

I recorded the voice and gave notes along the way.

If you saw this in your feed, would you stop scrolling or swipe?

Have you already tried to use Claude to make promotional videos for your app or SaaS? Any tip?

How do you value publicly traded app/software businesses?

I've been looking at how investors evaluate software and app businesses beyond the usual revenue-growth and P/E metrics.

For me, the interesting part is trying to combine:

Revenue and earnings growth

ROIC / ROE

Free cash flow

WACC and terminal growth

Comparable-company multiples

Historical financial performance

Bull / base / bear scenarios

The challenge is that these inputs are usually spread across different sources, which makes it difficult to get a consistent valuation quickly.

I've been experimenting with a platform that brings these elements together and produces an intrinsic-value estimate for listed companies.

I'm curious: when you evaluate an app/software company, which metric or valuation methodology do you trust the most?

Marketing Free App for Tracking Vehicle Expenses

I created an app called Motrona for tracking fuel, maintenance, insurance, repairs, and other vehicle expenses all in one place.

It is available for Android. You can track the expenses of all your vehicles for free. You can also export your existing data to .PDF and .CSV files.

Why is my side hustle not working? I think I built a solution to a problem that doesn't exist...

Post image
0 Upvotes

First of all, I am not good at English, and one of my everyday tasks with generative AI was fixing grammar and changing the tone. The hardest part was describing the problem I wanted the AI to solve.

Even for a simple question, I had to write it, go to Gemini or ChatGPT, and paste it. Then, writing something like "Fix grammar errors, don't reply with any extra text" over and over again felt repetitive, so I thought I could build an app. That's how I built Mimtush.

It took me almost two months to build and test the app, create the backend, find cost-effective API solutions, and publish everything on the Play Store.

I was seeing Reddit and Facebook posts almost every day about people building apps in 7 days and earning millions in just 4 months. So, my expectations were pretty high, and I came crashing down to earth in just 4–5 days.

I have tried listing my app on several platforms, but it seems like they all want some kind of payment.

So, I just want to tell anyone building something: don't set your expectations too high for something you've built, because not everyone will share your enthusiasm for it. Also, on social media, YouTube, and everywhere else, not everyone tells the truth. People just love showing off instead of telling the truth.

If anyone is curious, you're most welcome to visit mimtush.com and download it from the Play Store to give it a try.

I would appreciate any kind of feedback or comments from you!

You know a company is dogshit when Reddit does its customer support. Welcome to the club, Google.

Google Play's customer support is apeshit. You can't get a human to reply to you. And if you do, they have the half the problem-solving skills of a lobotomized midget porn star.

Some countries are hit harder than others. So Sundar Pichai's wife's stepmother hatched a brilliant plan when preparing breakfast dosa: Why not get someone on Reddit to reply to upset developers to show that Google fucking cares? It'll be just like handing out food to fucking low castes at the temple to show everyone how good we are. Enter u/GooglePlayDevSupport.

Google has finally joined the shit-stained ranks of Booking com and Namecheap: companies that treat customers like disposable panties on their own platforms, then crawl out of the corporate sewer and pretend to give a few fucks on Reddit. Developers have to dance for help on Reddit and if your dancing is Bollywood enough, the Pichai God might be pleased. Dance for me, peasant. Dance for support so we can show the whole world that we're a ray of fucking sunshine.

I hate Google with a passion. They have locked Gmail accounts that I haven't used in a while, even though I have the correct password and access to the recovery email. These accounts were tied to essential things that I now cannot access. Do you know how risky it is to use an email provider that can lock your account at their whim? They have made me jump through endless hoops to solve problems with Play Console and wasted my time. They have put my home address online and put me at risk of being swatted by mentally ill Android users who want my games for free.
